Martin, Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We serve two meals a day, lunch and dinner. Three days a week, we serve a breakfast item at our noon meal. We have 86 units with an average of 100 Residents ranging in age from 60 to102.
What places are nearby for independent living residents to enjoy?
The Elms is next door to the Forest Grove Senior Center, two blocks from the Forest Grove Library and the Pacific University Campus. Main Street Forest Grove has restaurants, with Valley Art and the Farmers Market from May thru October.
What are some recent off-site events that the community activity director at Elms Retirement Living Center has organized?
We enjoy the restaurant trips a couple times a month and a country drive is always fun..
What transportation services does Elms Retirement Living Center offer to independent living residents?
We have bus that seats 12 and we take transport our Residents to the grocery stores, banks and restaurants on a schedule we compile monthly.
What makes the chef or dining program at Elms Retirement Living Center exceptional? What kind of menu can independent living residents expect?
During the month we enjoy providing lunch and dinner daily. The down home cooking and restaurant style service makes the different choices enjoyable. We have a salad bar that includes fruits and vegetables for the varied tastes. We ask each month at our resident meeting for menu suggestions.
What common areas are available for independent living residents?
We have a patio area on our 3rd floor that is west facing if you enjoy the sun.The Great Room above the Dining Room that has couches to use with family and friends. There is always a jigsaw puzzle that needs attention also. The 2nd floor has a lending library, with books galore.
What safety features or security measures does Elms Retirement Living Center offer to independent living residents?
We have installed security cameras that allow us to monitor the parking area, some hallways and entry doors to our Community. Each Resident can have access to a security pendant that allows them, in an emergency to activate that will bring staff to assess their situation. All apartments have a intercom that contacts the office directly.
If Elms Retirement Living Center accepts dogs or cats, what indoor/outdoor areas can they enjoy?
Our first floor apartments have patios that can be utilized to enter of exit with your pet. There is lawn on the front side of our building adjacent to the sidewalk and an area behind our building is more garden style.
Does Elms Retirement Living Center work with an agency or registry to provide nursing and medical assistance as needed?
We are a completely Independent Community, we do not keep any caregivers on staff.
