"Everybody was very wonderful there at King City Senior Village. It was a very good experience. The people were very warm. The staff was great. They took me to a one-bedroom unit. They have a lot. They have a TV room. I was very impressed. It was very nice. I even met the cook. I had a very good guide. The ones I met all shook hands with me and were very gracious and very welcoming. The facility looked fine. The staff showed me the music room, the exercise room, and the beauty shop. The food was very good."

"Fathers day dinner was amazing. The BBQ Pork boneless, apple pie and salad. I have been here 8 years the best dinner I had here! I highly recommend Calaroga Terrace. Great People and Great Food"

"I chose herefor myself. It was a lovely tour. I got to see everything I needed to see. I like the people that represented it, and the people that I dealt with. I like the tour that I took and the time that the person spent with me. I like the grounds. I saw a little apartment and that's just exactly what I needed. The meals are all provided. I couldn't find any fault with it and I'm kind of particular. I saw them serving the food and it looked lovely, but I didn't eat there. The staff was excellent. It's very clean and very beautiful. They had all kinds of seating areas, a library, a church, and little places where you can gather and talk and have a little get-together. They had beautiful grounds. They allow pets. My dog is big and he was in there also and they loved him and he loved them, so that's a huge plus for an elderly person."

"We moved to Brookdale Newberg. I think they just have a hard time keeping people on. I don't know what it is, but maybe that way everywhere because we've looked at the other communities, and the people that are here, and we really like them. They just worked hard. It's just sometimes I think they need to hire more people, but they're still getting the work done. They try to make everybody happy. When there's a problem, they solve it. It doesn't go unnoticed. They take care of it if you have a problem. The facility is a beautiful place but there could be some improvements. They are trying to make improvements when we first start here. The food was not great, but we are seeing some improvements. Like the vegetables being overcooked. Some of the meals were not great, but they had a menu chat every week. You can go in and tell them what you'd like to change and the food you'd like to see on the menu. They listened and made changes, so that's good. Every day they've got something going on. They have an exercise program in the morning and they've got games all day long, different kinds of games, and they have outings that they take people on. We're still driving, so we haven't gone with some, but there's a sign-up sheet and you can go on outings if you sign for it, and they drive the bus."

"Mom is at MorningStar at Laurelhurst. It is very clean. Most of the caregivers are very caring and loving. They enjoy what they do and care for the residents. There were a few issues at the beginning, but things are better now. No place is perfect. I was given a couple of opportunities to have a meal there, and the food is always very fresh because the memory care patients are always served first. It's nutritious and they have a really good chef. There's a good variety. There are a lot of coloring activities (they have adult coloring books). They also play music and then have movies after dinner. They have other activities that I noticed on the board, like going for a walk and trivia things, but Mom's not interested in any of that stuff. She's very picky. She's always just sitting there, totally bored."

"I was very impressed with the facility. The first thing I noticed was how clean and inviting it was. The rooms were large and well laid out. The staff was well educated and very friendly. The ratio of staff to residents was pretty high and they had medical professionals on staff 24 hours a day. They took us on a tour of the lounge and dining rooms which were also clean and very inviting. The kitchen was nice with all of the up to date equipment. They held daily activities for the residents which included bingo, game and movie time. There was a modern library that was free for the residents to use whenever they wanted. They were also allowed to check out books and movies to use in their rooms. We talked to the activities manager who plans outings such as shopping trips and other fun activities. Another thing I likes about this facility was that they were conveniently located near the center of town. When the time comes, I would definitely trust them with my mother. "

"I love Brookdale. The food, care, and cleaning are good, and they're very attentive. They communicate well with me and the caregiver who is not on-site. They have a lot of other resources that they help me with, and the people are sweet and kind. My dad's happy there, and it's very reasonable. "

"It was nice and their people were friendly, but it was in an area of town that I am not familiar with, and that I do not care for. It had busy roads. The rooms were nice and clean. The person who assisted me during the tour was very, very informative, and gave me a lot of information that I didn't even know I needed to ask. The dining area was light, and airy, and comfortable. I saw that they had poker."

"I visited Kamlu Retirement, and I have a friend there. It's an older facility, very comfortable, and their dining facility is very nice, spacious, and attractive. It's nearby and close to things. The dining staff is helpful, thoughtful, and kind. My friend has a 1-bedroom unit, it's a nice size, they all have windows that look out on nice green spaces, the people are friendly, and they seem to be open to doing things together. My friend really liked living there."

"My mom is in assisted living at Van Mall right now. It is really like being in a fancy hotel instead of a retirement place. They have multiple choices of food, not just two, and the dining room is like a restaurant with linen tablecloths. It's a good place. They have more amenities and activities than any other place I visited. They have a little gym area with chair exercises and bikes, and there is somebody in there who can help you all day long. They have six to seven activities a day, like art and games."

"I thought that The Lofts by Cogir was a semi-independent living place. The staff was accommodating. They don't provide food. They had a courtyard and you could bring in your own laundry equipment. I toured various areas and everything was clean, up-to-date, and nice. It's located right next to Vancouver Mall."

"I like Cogir of Glenwood Place. The marketing person was really friendly. We liked when we were walking around during the tour, how the employees there were really friendly and would say hello. It seemed like it was well run. Even though it's a large place, they have a framework established that helps connect people. They have ambassadors that would welcome new residents and make sure that they come down to meals, meet people, and get connected. We liked hearing that was in place. They also have employees that are overlooking certain sections so that even though it is a larger place, we felt like it sounded like people won't get lost there, that they have a really good way to connect with their residents and we liked that. They did a really good job and spent a lot of time showing us all around. I thought the physical appearance was fine. It looked like they took good care of it. It was not run down. However, you have to fill out something on a tablet and answer a bunch of questions and that one was a little bit confusing as a new person coming in to take a tour. It wasn't as intuitive. Their check-in was a little confusing."

"My relative has moved into Somerset Lodge, and everything's great. It was probably the friendliest, most active community that we visited. The room that she chose faces a green space, so it has a patio and you feel like you're in the country instead of in the city, which was a big deal. The staff members are just super friendly and accommodating. One of the big things that she liked was they make homemade bread for their main meal every day, which is a big deal for her. There is a group that plays Pinnacle."
