"My husband is at Avamere Rehab. They do therapy over there for older people and injured people. It is a very nice place. The staff is very nice. They're very good. My husband likes the food. He does like the room, and he is in a room with a roommate, so he is quite happy there for the time being. "

"My mother has been a resident at Crestview for nearly 2 yrs receiving ongoing nursing care for dementia and Parkinson’s disease. She came to Crestview after breaking her hip at a memory care facility and having hip replacement. After her rehab was complete, it became evident that she needed ongoing nursing care because she was at extreme risk for falling again because of her fragility, dementia, and high activity level. I am extremely impressed with the level of care she has received at Crestview. The staff is kind and caring to a fault. They go out of their way to keep my mother creatively occupied and mentally engaged in a way that she never was at the upscale memory care facility she was at before. It doesn’t look like a fancy, boutique kind of facility, but it’s comfortable and clean with loving caregivers all around. It has a light, airy dining hall and a courtyard in the center. "

"I've had a client at The Pearl for several years. It's a residential care facility (assisted living but with a higher level of supervision), along with memory care and a small rehab unit. As soon as you walk in, it feels almost like a nice hotel. It's really nice. It's in Lake Oswego, in South Portland. The neighborhood is nice, upscale residential, with a church and high school nearby. The facility is newer"”quite nice and well maintained. They have both private and shared rooms with a private bath, and the furnishings are very tasteful and expensive. Outside there are a few little courtyards with flowers, shrubs, and walkways. They're not big, but they're nice. The staff are all very friendly, very committed to taking care of the residents. And they're well trained. I've eaten there, and the food is good. It smells good and looks good. They have some activities"”chair exercise, music"”but they've had an issue with keeping an activity director in place. They also offer some bus outings. "

"Marquis Tualatin had too much concrete with very little greenery or flowers. The outside sitting areas were cold. The staff was nice and tried very hard to get us to go there. They often offered to knock a wall through a studio for us to turn it into a two-bedroom. They were very good, but the place itself had a cold feeling to it. The studios were way too small."

"My mom stayed after a knee replacement. She enjoyed the staff, food and other patients. The staff were supportive and responsive to my mom. She has a low threshold for pain and they went out of their way to ensure she had the medications needed and she was comfortable. The room was clean, spacious and nicely decorated. She enjoyed meal time because she joined several other patients for social time during meals. All of the staff were knowledgeable and on top of treatments. I felt confident with the care she was given."

"I moved my mom to Avamere and they were really excellent. The food was good. The entire staff seemed to be very connected with what was going on. I could ask anyone who was working there, and they would immediately fill me with any information I needed. They were really, really good. They rehabilitated my mom and got her up and going. It was clean. I like that just everybody seemed to be communicating really well. I think the discharge was a little bit confusing. There were a couple of people involved who weren't talking to each other, which was really a surprise after all that I'd been through with them. When it came to the discharge, there were a lot of different ideas going on. Not everybody was on the same page when it came to that. "

"I have relatives and friends living at Willamette View. It has all three stages, from independent to assisted, and then the final stage. You just move to a different level as you need it. The staff is very helpful. They are very good. It is a beautiful place. It is a great place to be, and you do not have to worry about anything anymore. They take care of everything for you, and I like that. I did not see the one that I want because it is not available, but the ones that I see are very nice. They have all kinds of stuff there. They have a lot of activities. They have exercise classes, tours for people, and entertainment. They have three libraries, and there are puzzles going everywhere, which I like. They are very nice, and my friends who live there really like it. They have a very nice dining room set up. They have three dining facilities, and a couple of casuals that you can just walk up and get something if you want. They have coffee going all day for free, and the food looks very good. I did have one meal the first time I looked at it, and the food is very nice. They have a nice selection. I have a very positive experience there. "

"My mother is in her 90's with a number of debilitating physical issues. She has been very well cared for at Friendship Care Center. The staff turnover is higher than optimal, but that is common in the industry. The staff is always attentive and kind. Mom's room is reasonably spacious, bright, and pleasant. The only criticism is the food. It is not awful, but it tends to be bland and overcooked. The staff is always willing to return a dish and bring special requests, so it is not a big problem. I have rated the activities as average, but my Mom does not participate so I can't really say much."

"We've chosen Rose Villa, and we're on the waitlist. The staff was very nice. We had one lady that took us on a tour and we said hello to several other people that were busy working there. We went to the restaurant and we looked at the menu, but we didn't taste the food. They had a pool and an exercise room with equipment, and they had artist studios that you could rent or share. They had a salon, a barber, and a very nice library. The rooms were very nice. They had a wide range of choices and designs."

"This facility, which has ample parking for visitors, houses about 50 residents and serves all cultures, but most of the residents are Chinese. The caregivers and staff speak primarily Cantonese"”and there is Asian food featured daily and Asian art on display. Harbor Care Reedwood is a small facility, with only a dining room as a common area; there is a calm and serene feeling inside. Some residents have roommates, but most don't. The rooms feel institutional"”not very homey, more like a hospital. The food served is of good quality; and the kitchen staff helps those who have special requests, such as the need for pureed food. The nursing staff and CNAs are all very approachable about care, and also help with translation if needed. They take time to know the residents and are also forthcoming with family members and have rapport with them. Most of the residents have some form of dementia. One drawback is that there are limited activities offered to engage them, but overall, the care is good and the atmosphere feels nurturing. "

"I was a rehab patient here in early 2023 following a brain injury. The nursing staff was very good, with the exception of one or two CNAs who were pretty bad/as in neglectful of patient needs. 99% of them were fantastic and caring however, and I wish I could remember everyone's name to thank them. Karissa, Ziggy and Effie stand out--thank you all! Physical and occupational therapy was top-notch and key to my recovery. If it were not for the dedication of these people I would not be walking today, and I'm very grateful. The food was always horrible, but luckily I had friends and family who would bring me edible food from outside."

"Marquis Care is in the neighborhood and it is close to main streets. The facility is clean. My brother resides there. The staff is very cooperative, engaging and helpful. The rooms are clean. The dining area is set up so that there are tables to accommodate groups of four. There is a large door that opens up to the patio area. It is clean. The kitchen facility seems to be nearby, so it is sufficient. It is not troubled by garbage, so the housekeeping is good. They seem to have card games, bingo, gatherings and outings where they can leave the facility on bus. "

"I visited Lawrence Convalescent Center for my mother-in-law. I was really impressed with it for what it was. I was very impressed, but they didn't want to take my mother-in-law's incontinence. The facility was very clean, and it didn't smell. My mother-in-law would have had a roommate in a room. The staff that I met was very pleasant and nice. "

"I was at Stanley Post Acute. They needed some help with communication, especially with shift changes. The staff was wonderful for the most part, but it was the nurses that would get my meds mixed up. Their physical therapy was wonderful. If you needed a nurse they were a button away, but they needed more documentation for each patient. For three weeks they pretty much knew me, but there were still mistakes being made. The equipment was top tier though."
