I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

This is a horrible nursing home. Do not put your loved one here. Sometimes wait 3 hours after you put your light on before someone comes.

I visited this facility

Huntington Woods Care & Rehab Center was very clean. The wall painting and the decorations were very comforting and welcoming. The gentleman who gave us the tour was very knowledgeable. The rooms were large and they had private rooms with furnishings. So, they had dressers, end tables, and chairs in them. The dining area was clean. Residents were watching a movie when we went early in the afternoon. They also had a large room, like a physical therapy room, an outdoor patio, and areas to sit.

The facility did not change my grandmas depends for several days, nor did they give her a shower for the entire month she was there. The first weekend she was there they did not check if she ate. And a nurse specifically stated she did not have time to get her something to drink. The credibility of the staff and its directors is extremely non existent. This facility has caused my grandmother a complete decline in health.

Huntington Woods Care and Rehab provides excellent care to my Mother who has been living there for over 4 1/2 years. The staff is attentive, diligent and very caring. They communicate any changes in her condition or needs immediately. During this Covid pandemic they have provided excellent care and have communicated on a regular basis with the families via email and regular mail and have been exceptional at keeping the residents and staff safe and healthy. My Mom has considers Huntington Woods her home and feels safe and comfortable there and is happy. As a family we are so glad that she enjoys where she is living and that she is looked after by a staff that cares. As a family we love the size of her room, it is nice to have space for a nice sitting chair and recliner and her bed, night stand, bookshelf, tv stand and not feel crowded. The activities in the Memory Care unit are throughout the day and are presented with such enthusiasm by staff that it is hard not to say yes.

This place is dirty and the staff is rude and unsafe. My Grandmother left and nobody knew she was gone for several hours.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My brother's only been in Huntington Woods Care for a couple of days. He's not happy about it. He tripped and fell yesterday. Apparently, he didn't sustain any injuries. He has some medical condition where he retains a lot of fluid and that's what put him into the hospital. He weighs over 320 lbs. and it's all in his belly. He's only 60 years old, but he had open heart surgery for a faulty valve in 2003 and he never regained the use of one lung after the surgery. It's considered a chronic condition. I think the facility seem to be a little bit shorthanded. Sometimes it takes a while to get a response for a pain pill. And now my brother has to ring for help every time he goes to the bathroom. He's got a motion detection device on his bed. They're just trying to protect him and themselves. His room is huge and you can have a party in there.
