"My mother receives excellent care at Brookview. When I call with questions or concerns, they are addressed. The fact that one nurse has worked there something like 29 years says it all. She's the best, and my mama is fortunate to have the nurses I have met. "

"Overall I think this is one of the best homes in Defiance. With the exception of a few, the care providers are very friendly and patient. They keep the facility clean and there's rarely an odor. The food seems pretty good. Only problem I have is that several things have disappeared from my mother's room, even though I put her name and/or initials on everything. "

"Recently had to place my grandmother here. She was terrified to come into this type of a setting. This facility took the time to find out what mattered most. They ensured that she was met upon admission and even had a few of her favorite things set up in her room. They took the time to make sure she felt safe an comfortable. I have seen great improvment since her rehab has started, and we are looking to discharge to home soon. A few weeks ago I thought for sure she would never be able to go home. The therapy is excellent she has more energy, and gets around so much better. I cannot thank them enough for giving her back her independence. She loves the food, and has a safe spacious room to stay in, I was really impressed with the variety of activities they offered. Highly reccomend "

"This facility is absolutely wonderful. Where do I start? The staff is extremely attentive and caring for every resident. When walking with my grandmother in the hallways, everytime we pass a staff member, he or she makes it a point to say hi, call her by name, make some sort of joke about her, and wish us a great day. They truly get to know those they serve. Then comes the food. The food at this place is to die for and the patients get as much as they want whenever they want. My grandma is not much of an eater, but the staff always makes it a point to offer us something off the snack cart when it comes around. Then are the activites they have for the residents. While I am not too familair with them, I know my grandma enjoys bingo the most. She has won quite a few pies as a result of her for the game. Overall, the facility is wonderful and we could not ask for anything better for our loved one. "

"My mother spent a respite here for one week. She seemed to enjoy it, we didn't have any problems, she did activities. The place was clean, the atmosphere was nice, and the people who worked there were excellent. They had bingo, they did her nails there, they had UNO, and they got a chance to go out in the garden and watch the ducks. She had a two-bedroom, she was in the dementia care unit, but she didn't have a roommate. It was kept clean, she had her own bathroom inside the room, and she was near the front desk, so if she needed someone right away, someone could be there quickly. My family sent my mom flowers twice, and the administrator who I spoke with to help me get in there, took the two and sent them to us, called us, and let us know what was going on, and made us very comfortable. They had a courtyard, and they had a big glass-in container where they had some birds. The residents could go there and watch the birds."

"The Arbors facility is located on the outskirts of Toledo Ohio. The setting leaves a lot to be desired as the facility is situated on a semi busy road right off of a state highway and is adjacent to a shopping center. This drawback is offset however by a friendly staff and clean, modern amenities. I was able to participant in activities overseen by their recreational therapist. The residents were engaged and everyone had a great time for the most part. The residents are treated with respect and patience. I was pleasantly surprised by the professionalism and caring of the staff during my time there. I would recommend this facility to anyone seeking a nursing home/assisted living solution. "

"The Meadows has a homey atmosphere and a small community. There are a lot of rural fields and a pond to look at, and it's a lot cheaper. The dining room is great. They had a happy hour on Friday afternoons where the residents family can come in and have snacks. The staff is very pleasant. They have different things going on, like church services, bible studies, and bingo. There’s one area that is so nicely decorated that the community comes in and uses it for weddings. It’s been a very pleasant experience so far. "

"Otterbein provided great care to my friend up to his passing there. They were attentive and his safety was always their top concern. If he needed anything they accomodated his requests in a timely manner. The staff treated him like family. They went above and beyond and Ashley the Administrator was always supportive and was very knowledgeable when we needed her. We are thankful and happy we chose this facility."

"I initially saw Bowling Green Manor from the internet. This is where I ended up moving my mother. I'm very happy with it actually. It has been two months now and they take very good care of her. Everything about Bowling Green is very good. They meet my mom's needs and they're doing a great job at it. Like if something is wrong with her physically, they would notice it right away. They also have speech and occupational therapy onsite. Food is great. With regards to activities, they have little trips, some regular activities like arts and crafts and bingo, etc. People would come in and play instruments. They even have church service every Sunday. Everything is great. I have no problem at all with this place. "

"I toured Elizabeth Scott Community, and I visited both the nursing and the assisted living. I think it's a fabulous facility. They have everything that my dad would want. It's a family-owned business. They care very much for their residents. They had activities and a beautiful outdoor space. The facility was clean, and the staff was friendly and engaging. I really enjoyed my visit. The only downside is it's a little far for my mom, but we'll see. I'm going to take her there to see it. I don't remember what I saw, but I know that they were engaged. I met the activities director, Sarah. I don't remember offhand what it was that I saw them doing. All I know is that the residents looked engaged, and they looked happy. They have trivia, tabletop bowling, and all sorts of different activities for the residents. The person who toured me around was part owner. He was the grandson of Elizabeth or might have been a great grandson. I thought he was great."

"My grandmother was a resident at Heritage in 2008. She had been in 3, or 4 other homes before she arrived here. This was, by far, the best facility she was in. The staff was always friendly, the doctor's cared, the food was good, etc. My grandmother had dementia and often forgot the nurses. They were always patient and respective. She had her own room, which was extremely roomy (under the circumstances) and clean. She was a resident when she passed away and did an excellent job of showing sympathy and respect. I would highly recommend Heritage. "
