"We just returned from a multi-day visit with a family member who is a resident in the Special Care Unit at Fairlawn Haven. Our family member has been a resident for almost a year and we have been delighted with the care of the staff in the unit where she is. Of course, there has been a transition period between independent living and the "group home" situation that becomes necessary at some point. The staff at Fairlawn have been understanding and supportive from day one and the result has been acceptance and a true sense of affection for the caregivers in the unit. Being at a considerable distance from Archbold, we have relied the past year on the Social Services Manager, Kris for her help with communications via Skype sessions, emails and her advice in general. She and the nursing staff have been our eyes and ears. We offer our thanks for the safety, comfort and well-being of our loved one. "

"Such kind and caring staff, the moment you walk through the doors it feels warm and inviting, the building is small and a little dated but they certainly make up for that with the quality of care that they deliver, they exceeded my expectations! "

"From the little time I have spent at Fulton Manor, I have come to the conclusion that it is a very pleasant and comfortable place. Although I have only spent a short time there when visiting a longtime friend, I am always pleased by the care that is taking place. The staff seem to know what they are doing, and seem to enjoy the work that they participate in. The residents also seem to like the staff, and I know that my friend who lives there has no complaints about the care from the staff. The facility is also something that I think to be very nice. The rooms are always very clean and well organized. The rooms in which the residents stay are also very pleasant. The rooms are very large, and from what I have seen firsthand they accommodate the needs of the residents. The only complaint about the rooms that I have is that, some of the rooms have to share a bathroom with the room next door. Although no all rooms do, I feel that each room should have its own personal bathroom, so that the residents have more privacy. Overall I feel that it is a very welcoming place, and I would recommend it to anyone. "

"I loved this facility. The meadows is a nursing home/ rehabilitation center. My father in law and grandmother both stayed there for a short time and a friend of mines grandmother lived there. They have many activities to keep everyone busy. The facility is very clean, the staff is very professional. They have it set up like streets rather than a regular nursing home so while you are in there if you visit this street you know you are going to play cards ext. therefore patients feel more like they are at home as most of them can not go outside. The staff is very family oriented also and provides things for families to do during visits including a coffee and sweets bar. The environment is very relaxing and friendly. "

"Evergreen Manor Nursing Home was really nice. It's small, but I liked that because that means they don't have a lot of residents, so they were able to take care of them a lot quicker. The residents have plenty of room, that they can get around in the hallways if they're mobile. They had a nice little dining facility area. The food was very good; I liked it. Even my 100-year-old grandmother liked the food, and she's picky. The staff was very friendly. Even during the Coronavirus time, they let me go to the windows outside and talk to the residents on cell phones."

"The Meadows has a homey atmosphere and a small community. There are a lot of rural fields and a pond to look at, and it's a lot cheaper. The dining room is great. They had a happy hour on Friday afternoons where the residents family can come in and have snacks. The staff is very pleasant. They have different things going on, like church services, bible studies, and bingo. There’s one area that is so nicely decorated that the community comes in and uses it for weddings. It’s been a very pleasant experience so far. "

"I'm happy with how Autumn Court treats my brother-in-law. It's probably not the cleanest place, but you're dealing with patients with mental illnesses, so it's going to be hard. I have nothing to say about the staff. They've really taken care of the residents well. However, it's no Taj Mahal and not the greatest place appearance-wise. I understand why; most of the patients are on welfare. I have no issue with the care at all, but maybe they should improve on the cleanliness."

"My uncle spent few weeks at Laurels of Dekalb and the level of care he received was unbelievable. My uncle is 86 years old and speaks very little English. Even with the language barrier they made his stay extremely pleasant and comfortable. My wife is in social work field and even she was amazed by the staff and facility. If my uncle ever needs to go to another facility for physical therapy we will most definitely go back to Laurels of Dekalb. I will never forget the level of care and understanding that the staff provided."
