It's not a fancy place but comfortable. We had a great tour. The rooms were nice and I like it that you can bring your own furniture. Feels more like home. "

"My brother moved into Primrose Retirement Community of Lima on September 1st. It was the most beautiful one, and he was stunned by how beautiful it was. The room has very large, airy windows. It’s spacious and has a walk-in closet that’s as big as a room, and the bathroom is very large. So far, he’s very happy. I went there for lunch with him. I can’t eat sugar food, and they offered pie for lunch. They also had some kind of chicken in a wrap, and I think it was fried. I don’t care for the food at all, but my brother is very happy with it. It reminded me more of restaurant food. "

"I went to the assisted living and memory care unit of Burton's Ridge and had a very informative visit. I talked to Jenna, and she was very helpful. Also I have met with an elder law attorney, and she was familiar with them and has worked with them before. The facility was very aesthetically pleasing. It was very pretty, and I liked the accommodations. I also liked the fact that my loved one can have both physical therapy and speech therapy while he's there. They have activities for them, and the meals are provided. The rooms come furnished with a small refrigerator and a microwave. They also have places where the residents can go to visit with their families or other residents. There also is an outside area that was closed in that they could also get to if they would like."

"My sister-in-law moved into Vancrest of Delphos Assisted Living. It's very nice. Everybody is very friendly. One of the big pros is that they won't bump her down. She has an apartment, and when she goes on Medicaid, they won't bump her down to a studio, as every other place would. They serve three meals a day. They exercise every day. They have a physical therapist come in and work with them in a group setting. Down in the cafeteria, they do exercises. They play bingo and have cookouts. They have a lot of activities. They give them an activity schedule because there's so much stuff going on. However, they don't allow pets. That's the only drawback. I can bring them to visit, but they're not allowed to stay. The staff is very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. We haven't had any problems with them at all. She's been very happy with the food. She makes her own breakfast. You're allowed to cook in your room, but you can't have a stove. She has a seven-in-one toaster oven. It bakes, broils, and grills. She makes her breakfast in her room because they have breakfast at 7:30, and she doesn't like getting up that early."

"We were able to see the extended care and the assisted living at Vancrest - Ada, and they were both very nice. It's a newer facility, and it was very lovely. Everyone was very friendly, very informational, and very organized. I was very impressed. The people were very helpful and answered our questions. I've been in touch with them off and on for availability, and they've been in contact with us."

"We had my mom in assisted living for two months. It is called Maple Crest. They are probably one of the top in the nation. This is totally private through Mennonite Home. It was absolutely fabulous. It was like a resort. The people were fantastic to my mother. There was nothing that was wrong with it. The people were great, and the food was great. There was nothing to worry about. They checked on Mom while she was there. The place didn't smell and it wasn't dirty. It was even cleaner than a lot of people keep their homes. I was pleased with this place. They had a crafts room where they had furnishings and everything set up; however, Mom wouldn't do any of that. My mom was the problem. I also wish she was still there. Unfortunately, she moved herself out. She hired movers and moved herself back home. "

"We toured Mennonite Memorial Home, and it was in a nice location. The rooms were nice, and the people were really friendly. I liked it really well. They have a wood shop, which is really good. I like that they have a nice big pond, and I can go fishing there. They have things to keep you busy, and that's what I like. It's in a country setting, and you're out of the city limits. It's really nice out there. It's beautiful. The one who toured us was a really nice lady. I can't recall what her name was exactly, but she was really nice. She took us all over, and she showed us several apartments. The apartments were really nice, but some were under construction for new carpet and being repainted."

"Putnam Heritage went above and beyond when caring for my dear friend. The staff was very friendly, well mannered, and loving. Whenever I visited the facility I always felt welcome and a part of their family. Immidately when you walk through the door you notice how beautiful it is and it never had a foul odor! Kudos to the staff at Putnam Heritage! I would highly reccomend! "

"Obbertein St. Marys was good. The only thing negative was some pretty strong smell in parts of the place. These are older people living there, so I understand why that happens, but I don’t think I had a very good feeling about that. The rooms seemed nice and adequate. It was a bit older but pretty well-kept overall, and it seemed an adequate care facility. They were all very friendly and helpful; it seemed like they had a good relationship with the residents, and they answered our questions. It was a little less expensive, but it was comparable. We have considered this place a lot just because it is very close to where my mother lives. It is within walking distance, so she has been there before, and she knows the people. "
