"In July 2013 my mother was placed here because she had COPD and nothing more hospital in Lima could do for her. She had to have oxygen. Hospital said they would give her less than a week to live. They told the nursing home to give mom just 2 liters of oxygen and if they did she would of died. Nursing home gave her what she needed to stay alive. Each week shes needed more and more oxygen. She was up to 20 liters before she died Sept. 2013 with full mask on 24hrs aday. I am so grateful that this nursing home gave mom more time to live to be with us. They go above and beyond and I would trust this nursing home. They treated mom sooo good and us. "

"Mom was in Laurels since May 27 since it's close to mom and dad. It's just perfect for mom right now. We're happy with the nurses. "

"I visit a relative here and I really like the facility it is very clean and newer looking. They have crafts and a little ice cream shop they open up sometimes. They have a restaurant type kitchen for the residents with a menu and several food options so if they do not like something they can choose something else. It helps them feel like they have more control over something. The staff is very friendly and they seem like they care for the people who live there. One time when I was visiting an elderly lady had an accident in the dining room and a staff member noticed it and instead of embarrassing the lady she tried very hard to get her out and cleaned up so no other residents noticed to spare the woman any embarrassment. Another time was on Halloween they gave all the residents a bowl of candy to pass out to the little kids who were trick or treating, they loved seeing all the kids' costumes and it brightened their spirits. "

"The care at Gardens at St. Henry is pretty good. It is a small nursing home and my mom won't really get lost. Food is not really the greatest but the staff is very good. "

"I liked that The Springs of Lima gave their people dignity. The rooms were nice and everything about it was clean and professional. It was pretty good. The people were caring. My friend liked the food. It was not an issue for her. She loved it, so they had really good food. They also had a gym, a salon, and lots of group activities."

"The staff in Dorothy Love Retirement Community is fabulous. The whole place is fabulous. I was impressed with the facility itself, how everything is new and up-to-date. The area that my mother-in-law is in is kept off from every place else. She's with about 16 other residents and they're able to come and go in that one small area as much as they want. She actually loves it there. "

"My friend is very happy with Lochhaven Assisted Living Apartments. She went in there last month. She has a one-bedroom on the second floor. The apartment is very nice. There are floors to the facility. The staff is excellent. She’s 92 years old and happy as a lark. She’s happy with the food and goes down for her dinner. She has a lot of friends who visit with her and she’s adapting really well. "

"My mom was a resident at The Greens. They have a living room and a dining room. It has a nice and spacious area. The living room has a fireplace, bookcases, and a television. It's homey and has recliners for the residents. The kitchen is in the same great room and has counters around it. They cook the food right there, and it smells really good. They do their laundry right there on site. They have a hairdresser that comes in once a month, and one free appointment is included with their payments. The bedrooms are large enough. They try to keep the residents out socializing with other people. My mom had her own television, a recliner in her bed, a dresser, plenty of storage space, a huge bathroom, and a shower. You could even roll a wheelchair into the shower. When they walked into the bathroom, the light automatically came on. They had outdoor areas where the residents could go outside when it was nice out. They had an enclosed courtyard between buildings. They had bingo. They had times where they had groups who came that would sing for them or play the piano. They had manicures. They had a whole list of activities all the time. It was a nice facility."

"The whole visit was great, I was asked if I needed help the minute I walked in the door. The nurse showed me around let me know where the help desk was and the restroom then showed me a tour of the facility , she gave me some pamplets on all the speacial care they can provide , I was happy to se the work they were doing and truly happy to be doing it "

"My mother-in-law is in Sarah Jane Living Center. They’re great. I think it’s wonderful -- the facility, the management, and the staff. It’s great. Her room has a bed and a chester drawer. We have a TV in it. It is clean, and it is kept nice. There is a fan to keep her cool if she gets warm. It’s a nice facility. We have no problems at this point. I know they give her 3 meals a day, and she eats it all and likes it. They have yahtzee and horseshoe activities. "

"I visited Vancrest of Delphos as a Medical Student during my Family Medicine Rotation in Delphos Ohio. When I was told that I was doing a portion of my rotation at a local nursing home, I expected a sad place filled with miserable people. Instead, I found a facility filled with caring staff, and residents enjoying a variety of activities, from simply socializing with their neighbors to structured activities with the staff. I examined several of the residents, and found them to be in good health and good spirits. The residents received excellent regular medical care, and the staff, while mostly nursing aides or medical assistants, was equal parts compassionate and professional. As a future medical professional, I was pleasantly surprised by the attention to the residents total needs; medical, psychological, social, emotional and spiritual. If the situation were to arise that required me to find a spot in an assisted living facility for a member of my family, and I was to find myself living near Delphos, Ohio, I would definitely strongly consider a placement in the Vancrest Assisted living facility of Delphos Ohio.
