"The Baptist Nursing center provides care for mostly geriatric patients on both and short-term and long-term basis. The building is well maintained and never carries that medical facility smell so many institutions carry. The staff at the administrative and nursing levels all do their best to meet the needs of every patient individually. They do their best to create a sense of community throughout the facility. The nurses are well trained and most have excellent bedside manner. Some of the staff are a bit less friendly than others but none are mean, just more reserved than others. The facility does use a nursing agency to help fill in their staff when there are nursing shortages. Sometimes the nursing staff has to take on heavy patients loads but they never skimp on the care of the patients. The food is well prepared and special care is given to the nutritional needs of each patient individually. The entire staff works with patients to help them maintain and improve their strength. The feeling with even long term residents is to help them meet their goals in every way possible. The facility has had some incidents in which a patient has fallen or wandered off their floor but nothing tragic happened during my time working here. The patients always seemed content, even those who were restless and yearned to be back home. The facility holds community activities and does excursion into the community like visiting parks and going for holiday trips. Overall the facility is well maintained and welcoming. "

"My mom had come out of the Ellis Hospital and had gone over to Sunnyview because she had a hip replacement. She needed physical therapy at that time. We wanted her to have a few more weeks of therapy, but they seemed to be in a hurry to get her out or get her turned over, I don't know. I wished she had stayed there longer because she was making really good progress. She had been there for about a month. Their service was excellent. She was always going on with her physical and occupational therapy. She was always on the move. People were in and out of her room. "

"My MIL has received horrendous "care" at the Ellis Nursing home, severe bedsore requiring specialized wound care, tray left without attempts to feed her, not given medications as ordered by Hospice and the social worker and director of nursing ignore concerns of relatives who visit. I would tell anyone NEVER to place a loved one in this facility. "

"I saw Capstone for my dad. Everybody was very nice and showed me around. The people were eating lunch at that time, and they were taking care of them. The meals were good; the person I visited ate everything, and he's usually very fussy. The nursing staff was very caring, and the rooms and bathroom were nice and clean."

"The weekend and night staff seem to have attitude about how they treat family and residents. The room is a typical nursing home room not at all as indicated on the web site. Physical therapy is only on weekdays. Again not 7 days a week as claimed. I have been rudely treated 3 times with no direct answers to questions. The administration staff act bothered by the fact that you don't agree to everything they want without more information. There was no communication between day & night staff regarding care. My relative is improving slowly, but got no help with therapy for first four days. "

"My husbands grandfather went to this facility. They took good care of him but the food was not the best. He didn't eat that well there. The staff were mostly friendly. I noticed one of them was not very helpful. And a little rude.My husbands grandfather went there because he fell off two steps and hurt part of his body. He needed to go there so he could walk again. He was too injured to walk without a wheel chair. He could not stay at home. Because he needed someone always there to help him. So that is why he had to go here. The staff at The Dutch Manor made sure he was able to walk on his own before he was released back home. He started to like it so much he almost refused to leave. He liked people always being there for him. And I think he was afraid of falling again. But the staff there gave him confidence he could walk and care for himself parts of the day at his home. He does have someone at his home that visits and feeds him. "

"My mother has been a resident at Wilkinson for almost a year. It is a difficult decision to make when a relative has reached the point of needing more care than the family can provide and they must leave their home. The staff at Wilkinson was and still is so supportive, caring and professional when dealing with both mom and the family. Even the admission process was made easier by knowledgeable staff who walked us through it all, making it so much less stressful. The peace of mind having mom cared for every minute of the day is life saving. Those who have tried to take care of loved ones while working and having their own families know how overwhelming it is. The guilt from feeling you are failing your parent adds to it. Wilkinson's staff helps you understand that the decision was the right one and when you see the care given it reassures you. We are very happy and mom is cared for by people who are far better trained than we could ever be. "

"My wife attends this wonderful program twice a week and it is working out great for us both. While she is there having a good time I can catch up on errands or even golf for the day. It really is a great program. "

"Kingsway Community have a lot to offer. It's really nice. Dad's only been there a week, so he's still getting adjusted. But he seems to really like it. He enjoys going to dinner with a group of people. They have quite a bit for them to do. They take them to market, to doctor's appointments, they have outings sometimes, they even have a little bonfire, sometimes they go outside and play croquet, even little Wii bowling competition, and they have ice cream socials. It's really a cute little place. They have beauty parlor, barbershop, a bank right on site which is very convenient, and also a little mailroom. They have someone that comes in and cleans the apartment once a week. He has one meal a day that's included in his rent. Their food is like gourmet with couple of different entrees, but they also offer nice variety like cheeseburger, grilled cheese with tomato, Caesar salad. "

"Very well run facility. Impressed with Rehab and nursing staff. Also food is excellent not expected from a nursing home. By far best nursing home in Montgomery County. Had. No issues with staffing levels always adequate staff in hand. "

"My mom is a resident of Shaker Place Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. It's very clean. The staff is very dedicated. Everyone tries to help you, the social workers, everybody. The doctors are excellent. Everybody's understaffed, but they do the most. My mom has a very dedicated aide who takes care of her. I was not expecting it to be as nice as it is."

"I went to Albany County Nursing Home because I looked for a place for my husband. It looked pretty clean even if it was very old. The room they showed was kind of dim and my husband needed daylight because one of his eye was blind. I also could not afford the price. "

"My wife has been at Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center since August. The care has been OK. I have no problems with their staff. When my wife needs some help, they help her out. I think a nurse should be assigned to her because she has fallen down three times already. My wife is in a semi-private room. I pass by an area where there are recliners. The food should be better for what we are paying. The food quality is average, sometimes even below average."
