The only reason there is one star is because I couldn't post with zero stars. This place is the epitome of all that is wrong with nursing facilities- there is a handful of staff that seems to care and do their best. Most of the aides- if you can find them- are on their phones while residents reek of urine and struggle to eat their meals with little or no help. God forbid your loved one actually gets sick- they will be ignored, not given care while you're told that they're getting treatment. Administration is uncaring, rude and don't hesitate to threaten you if you question them or advocate for your loved one. This place is horrific-

The weekend and night staff seem to have attitude about how they treat family and residents. The room is a typical nursing home room not at all as indicated on the web site. Physical therapy is only on weekdays. Again not 7 days a week as claimed. I have been rudely treated 3 times with no direct answers to questions. The administration staff act bothered by the fact that you don't agree to everything they want without more information. There was no communication between day & night staff regarding care. My relative is improving slowly, but got no help with therapy for first four days.

If you decide to send a loved one here make sure that there is a family member there EVERYDAY and stagger the times so staff is not expecting you. Rooms and hallways are pretty decent. Food is ok. Be prepared to have to give you LO a bedbath yourself and to take them to the toilet if able and change their sheets. Almost everytime we went up our LO was laying in a wet bed. Don't be afraid to ask questions about your LO's care, but be forewarned to be met with hostility from those there who are supposed to be professionals and answer your questions. Our LO had a nurse that would YELL at us infront of our LO for concerns we expressed. This was on the Birch unit. Got so our LO was afraid of her and she cringed everytime this nurse walked in the room.

Avoid this place if you can. If I could give a ZERO review I would. Staff cover for each other. CNA’s don’t do their job and get a away with it. Floor nurses as well as floor Nurse Manager and administration all cover for each other so nothing gets corrected. Say they are “short staffed”. I pay a lot of money to be cared for and doesn’t happen. Someone needs to look into this. Food is mediocre. Premade, box garbage. Need homemade meals.

Please if you care for your family member do not use this facility. There medical director took it upon himself to over ride hospice directive for my mother. He has never meant her. There is no staff. It is dirty and unsafe for anyone.

The Capital Living was built last year. It is nice, and I have enough room. They have a bin for your clothes and a couple of little stands to put papers. I have two tables because I have a computer, and they have free internet. The food is OK; some of it I like, and some I don't. They have an alternative menu, and it is something different everyday. We have bingo a couple of times a week, crafts, and live music. They usually have trips to the mall or Wal-Mart or out to lunch, but I don't really like it that much. They should improve on their laundry. They lost a couple of my pants. You put your name in them, so I don't know if they remove the labels or what's going on.
