"November 2015 We had misgivings when we walked in the door, due to the funky-looking carpet in the hallways. The staff, however, was absolutely outstanding. My mother-in-law had a very good three week stay. I or my wife was there everyday and was very impressed with the overall quality of the people who worked here, from the maintenance workers to the RNs. "

"My wife has been at Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center since August. The care has been OK. I have no problems with their staff. When my wife needs some help, they help her out. I think a nurse should be assigned to her because she has fallen down three times already. My wife is in a semi-private room. I pass by an area where there are recliners. The food should be better for what we are paying. The food quality is average, sometimes even below average."

"My mom was in Rosewood a month ago. As far as the rehab part -- the OT and the PT -- it was excellent -- very good. They included her in all the activities, they went and got her, and they brought her out because she wouldn't remember to go. They made sure she got up to breakfast, lunch, and dinner so she could be with other people at the table to eat, and that was great. So, if it was for socialization, it was wonderful. She participated in the activities, she did her PT and her OT, and that part was great; that part was excellent. She had to have wound care because she had edema, and her legs just got so big, they split, and she had to have wound care, but I am not sure if they were kind of qualified or really knew how to handle it. They wrapped and bandaged it, but they were supposed to use solutions and wrap it every other day, and I just don't think they knew how to do that or were trained how to do that. So for that part, she got better care with that in the hospital than she did at rehab. But all in one, it was a great experience, she loved it, and they were very good to her, but I also went every day to make sure that everything was done the way it should be. I absolutely would recommend Rosewood for rehab, but I don't know about the nursing home part because we weren't part of that. "

"My father is in Hudson Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. He needs nursing care. It's very easy to get to. It's like right off the exit. My dad likes the nursing staff. He's very happy there, which makes me happy. He is in long-term care. The staff is very nice and very friendly, and they adore my dad. I had only positive interactions with them, so I'm pleased. I have had some of their food. I liked the mac and cheese, but my dad likes the food there, that's one of the reasons he wanted to go there. It's pretty good for nursing home food. They seem to be pretty organized. If I have questions, they always call me right back. They update us all the time. We just had a meeting for his care, which was nice. They do regular follow-ups and assessments of the patients to see if they need therapy. They're very nice. They're always very helpful. They have a great check-in system there where everyone gets their pictures taken. They have a nice lobby. We're happy with it. I haven't been there during the activities time, but I see the activities board posted every day in the lobby and he has a list of activities on his corkboard in his room. They have things scheduled every day for the residents. The atmosphere there is friendly."

"My mom is staying at Eddy Village Green at Cohoes. The people were kind. The model was superior because they made it feel like a family kind of experience. They help with toileting and showering. The facility is excellent and very clean. The staff members care about the residents. My mom's room is spacious and has its own bathroom inside. The food is adequate. They can't make it too spicy, too salty, or too sweet. She has Medicaid."

"I went to Albany County Nursing Home because I looked for a place for my husband. It looked pretty clean even if it was very old. The room they showed was kind of dim and my husband needed daylight because one of his eye was blind. I also could not afford the price. "

"My mom is a resident of Shaker Place Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. It's very clean. The staff is very dedicated. Everyone tries to help you, the social workers, everybody. The doctors are excellent. Everybody's understaffed, but they do the most. My mom has a very dedicated aide who takes care of her. I was not expecting it to be as nice as it is."

"Delmar Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing was very pleasant and the surroundings were very nice. The rooms were very nice and the people were very accommodating. The person that showed us around and the admissions office was very good and very helpful. The dining room was also nice. The only problem was it would have to be self-pay and we couldn't do that. So, that was the only setback."

"My mother is a long-term resident of Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center, having moved into skilled nursing there nearly four years ago. Without a doubt, Daughters of Sarah is an absolutely wonderful place for my mother during this stage of her life. All residents have single private rooms with bathrooms, which is significant. For my mother, it's meant that she's comfortable in her own space and in her day-to-day life there. But without a doubt, the best part of Daughters of Sarah is the staff itself. During my visits, I'm always struck by how each and every employee I see is dedicated to providing excellent nursing care in a welcoming, comfortable environment. For over four years, the nursing staff has managed my mother's medical issues exceptionally well, while the care aides, social workers, and recreational staff always give her the hands-on care she needs and treat her with respect and kindness. As a family member, I breathe easy knowing that my mother has and will continue to receive exceptional care at Daughters of Sarah."

"My parents live at the Massry Residence and they love it. We had much resistance in getting them here, but once they settled in, my mother asked why they hadn't done it before. They love the activities - and there are tons! Their laundry and housekeeping are done for them on a regular schedule and as needed. The care staff members are excellent, providing advice, making appointments, and offering a caring ear. "

"My siblings and I placed my mother in Teresian, she was there for a few years and passed away last summer. I am beyond grateful for the nuns and doctors and staff at Teresian for helping her final years be comfortable and happy at times. She always wanted to go home, but with the private rooms, she had the dignity and privacy not provided in other places , the doctor was the only one to every properly diagnose and treat her Lewy body dementia and with the right medications, she was SO much better, she never did not know who we were and did not have to suffer the hallucinations and other awful symptoms. THANK YOU !!!!!"

"Kingsway Arms Nursing Center is a very good place to go. My aunt started in assisted living, and then she went to the nursing home, and both of them were excellent. They're very friendly, professional, and caring. It's clean, and it's a very nice community for the elderly. She didn't complain about the food. They had a nice patio for the clients to go to. They had things for them to do, and she was happy joining in. It's worth the money."

"My husbands grandfather went to this facility. They took good care of him but the food was not the best. He didn't eat that well there. The staff were mostly friendly. I noticed one of them was not very helpful. And a little rude.My husbands grandfather went there because he fell off two steps and hurt part of his body. He needed to go there so he could walk again. He was too injured to walk without a wheel chair. He could not stay at home. Because he needed someone always there to help him. So that is why he had to go here. The staff at The Dutch Manor made sure he was able to walk on his own before he was released back home. He started to like it so much he almost refused to leave. He liked people always being there for him. And I think he was afraid of falling again. But the staff there gave him confidence he could walk and care for himself parts of the day at his home. He does have someone at his home that visits and feeds him. "

"The weekend and night staff seem to have attitude about how they treat family and residents. The room is a typical nursing home room not at all as indicated on the web site. Physical therapy is only on weekdays. Again not 7 days a week as claimed. I have been rudely treated 3 times with no direct answers to questions. The administration staff act bothered by the fact that you don't agree to everything they want without more information. There was no communication between day & night staff regarding care. My relative is improving slowly, but got no help with therapy for first four days. "
