I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father has been in long term care for a few years now at Schuyler Ridge. This facility has gone down hill since he has been there. They are very understaffed to the point that it is concerning for the residents health. The rooms are not cleaned well, there is a layer of dust and filth on the furniture and flooors. My dad’s response time when calling for a nurse/aide is sometimes over an hour. His bed sheets are covered in filth and aren’t changed on a regular basis. And the food is intolerable. He has voiced his concerns to the top management there and was told nothing can be done because they are part of a huge corporation which are just looking to cut costs. At the expense of patients???????

I visited this facility

Schuyler Ridge A Residential HCF is a rehab and a nursing facility. It was a very nice place. We saw the rehab facility. The rooms were nice, but the woman who toured us was not the most outgoing. I wasn't really happy with her. The grounds were nice, everything was nice, but the only thing was the woman wasn't very helpful or very outgoing.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Schuyler Ridge was a good facility when my mom first arrived there in 2017. The first year went pretty good. The second year was a complete nightmare. My mom's saving grace was she was able to voice her concerns which allowed me to address them directly to the staff. Time and time again I would discuss my concerns with the staff and would be told over and over again that my concerns would be taken care of. All to only be better for a week or two. These patients are mistreated by several aides and the answer I always got was, "we are short staffed." That is not the residence issue and does NOT permit them to be bullied, spoken down to and ignored. It is disgusting how the elderly are treated there. No, I do not recommend Schuyler Ridge. It has gone completely down hill this past year.

Trip to the ER

My father was in their care for a month following a UTI. On the day of his discharge, I found my father alone in his room and very confused. He barely recognized me and couldn't even put his dentures in his mouth. I had to tell the charge nurse about the condition of my father and at that point we agreed to call EMS and have him evaluated immediately in the ER. He was diagnosed with severe dehydration (gained 10 lbs. in one day by IV). Now my father had to spend another week in the hospital and a second one-month rehab stay at a different facility. My father spent an extra 5 weeks recovering and incurred a $4k bill of co-pays due to the limit of insurance coverage maxed during the second rehab stay. How does someone in the care of rehab experience severe dehydration? And the staff wasn't aware of anything! They chose not to offer any compensation to my father and have invited themselves to legal action. Obviously they weren't monitoring intake/outtake and daily weights and blood analysis. Take your loved one someplace else!

I visited this facility

My.Mom was here for a month and the staff treated her like royalty. Very accessible to family and dogs to visit. Food was excellent and we were able to eat with her for a very low price. We highly recommend Schuyler Ridge.
