Adult Day Care Communities in Albany, NY

"The independent living community of The Beltrone Living Center in Albany kind of fits our bill, so we're on their waiting list. It's very nice, the apartments are absolutely beautiful, and they are just lovely. They have a lot of programs, which is very nice as well, and they offer rides to the grocery store and to the doctor's office. They offer some meals that come with the rental itself. The other nice thing about it is that the heat and the utilities are included, which is great because you're basically then paying one bill. It makes it less complicated. It's not inexpensive, but the fact that it includes it makes it simpler for some of us who maybe just want life to be simpler. We're very impressed with it. I just don't know if they'll ever reach us because they have such a long waiting list. There's a park in the back, and they have accommodations for a very large parking lot. They have so many activities there. If you want to be the kind of person who's busy every single day, there is something going on there, either educational or craft-wise. It's also a very nice location. It's in the heart of Colonie, so it's very near grocery stores and pharmacies. It happens to be down the road from my physical therapist, too, which is great. They offer rides to doctors' appointments. You just have to let them know ahead of time. The staff seems very accommodating and friendly. It's not a fancy place, and it's not what I would consider upscale. If somebody's looking for a gorgeous entrance and magnificent furniture, that's not the place. It meets our needs, though, and that's why we're on the waiting list. One of the staff members there was very friendly and informative, and one of them was not so much. Other than that, they showed us one empty apartment, and it seemed perfectly fine. I didn't find anything objectionable about the public areas."

"Bright Horizon Adult Daycare has a number of people that they have to care for, but they've given my husband the attention he needs when he is there. They do have a calendar of what they're having for lunch. They do have a calendar of what their activities are each day. This is the one and only day care program that I looked into and was referred to. I'm happy with it. The staff was lovely."

"Eddy Daybreak Adult Day Services was able to find me a good match right away. The therapist they sent me was really good. He was nice guy and he did everything he could to help me. He was here three times a week and showed me a lot of stuff, which I do by myself now. He knew how to connect with people and make them comfortable. "

"Schuyler Ridge A Residential HCF is a rehab and a nursing facility. It was a very nice place. We saw the rehab facility. The rooms were nice, but the woman who toured us was not the most outgoing. I wasn't really happy with her. The grounds were nice, everything was nice, but the only thing was the woman wasn't very helpful or very outgoing."

"I visited one person at the Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility. It seemed like there were plenty of nurses available at that time. She was well taken care of. It was very clean. I didn't talk to anybody so much. I just went to see my friend, but the staff members seemed very friendly and helpful."

"This facility has very caring associates. They are concerned for the patient as well as the family. They have a unique way of caring for patients with Alzheimer's disease. I would highly recommend this facility. "
