"Recently walked into Fawn Ridge in a effort to find out information for a family member. From the moment I walked in the staff was attentive and informative. There is a new administrative team there , and Keosha the Assistant Administrator is completely hands on and makes sure that that all the residents needs are taken care of. The facility is undergoing a massive renovation project and will be completely remodeled by the time they are done. I walked away very impressed with this facility. "

"Terrace At Eddy Memorial was very pleasant. It was not as up-to-date as the other place. It was a little outdated, but it was certainly clean enough. The room was bigger. The lady that I dealt there with was excellent."

"I have a family member that has been living at Heartwood for 4 yrs now. The staff are friendly and always smiling when I come in to visit. The Administrator Laurie Park is kind and very compassionate, it was hard for me to admit my mother to a facility and when I had no other choice but to do so Laurie communicated regularly and checked in to see how everyone was doing and kept us informed of my mothers well being through the entire process. During the Covid outbreak when we couldn’t visit the facility Laurie communicated regularly with us to ensure our family members were being cared for and all their needs were being met. Up to this day anytime we go to the facility to visit she is always smiling and pleasant. She is one of a kind and you won’t find a better Administrator."

"The staff here is always extremely friendly. We were looking for a home that dealt specifically with Alzheimer's care for my grandfather, who has progressed beyond the point of us being able to care for him. I was initially impressed with the look of the facilities; it looked more like a nice hotel or apartment complex than a retirement home and assisted living facility. Their Alzheimer's care units are among some of the best I have ever heard from; they have a layout with allows for those afflicted with the disease to easily navigate the building, with a small suite being a private space, which adjoins with a shared area/kitchen. I spoke with some of the residents there, who all said they were extremely happy with the care, the staff, and the community. It is also right next to the town library, which is really great. My grandfather seems to be happier here than I could have thought given the circumstances, and we are grateful to have an option like that in the area. "

"Support Ministries Ahana House is a beautiful facility. It is small and quaint but extremely well kept, and it sits nicely in a good neighborhood in Waterford. When we were considering this place for my grandmother, we were taken aback by the attentiveness of the staff, but thought it might just be a marketing ploy. My grandmother has now been living there for over a year and we can safely say that the service is just as good as was promised to us. The nurses are friendly, knowledgeable, and respond promptly. My only complaint is that it can sometimes be difficult to schedule a visit and consistently meet with the same staff due to their rotating nursing schedule. The food is excellent and the cooks are able to cater directly to dietary needs (and picky eaters!) They do group meetings on Mondays and foster a sense of community among the residents. I've recommended Ahana House to a few friends and plan to continue to do so. "

"My sister in law is a senior and unable to live on her own. She has been a resident at Promenade at UP for over 2 years and is thriving there. She has a new sense of independence and has made many friends. It has been a life changer for her. All the staff we have dealt with are helpful and supportive. She is very happy there"

"Delmar Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing was very pleasant and the surroundings were very nice. The rooms were very nice and the people were very accommodating. The person that showed us around and the admissions office was very good and very helpful. The dining room was also nice. The only problem was it would have to be self-pay and we couldn't do that. So, that was the only setback."

"We checked out Albany Center, an Adult Home. The location is convenient. It seemed clean. The staff seemed nice. I turned in the paperwork; however, I can't get a hold of her. The structure of the building was good. They had like a small hotel-type room. It has a bathroom and living room area. The bathroom is a good size. The safety features that they have are good. They have emergency call buttons in the bathroom and the bedroom. It felt homey when I walked inside."

"We used Beverwyck for a total of 3 years. My father was a resident there. It was a very warm, welcoming place. It was also very clean and very comfortable. It had all levels of care. The staff's work ethics had a very high standard, they're always available, they were unusually attentive and they answered questions. They did everything to help accommodate my father when he moved there. They introduced him to people and went out of their way to make sure he was included in activities. My dad had a private room. The room had an adequate and plenty of gathering space when family came to visit. It had also a nice outside space. The dining room was very accessible and lovely. You sit in the table with the same companion during meals. They formed friendships. Food was wonderful. My father had to go on a diet, they were very kind and accommodating in working his dietary arrangements. For activities they had yoga, physical exercise, movies, sing-a-longs, music groups from the outside and they take group to the Palisades Theater and entertainment in the city. It was a nice place to be. "

"I toured Beverwyck. It's a multi-level of care. It's a very nice campus. I wasn't able to see any of the actual living spaces. I just viewed floor plans, but I did have an opportunity to walk around the building, and it was very nice. They told me all of the options for the rooms, but they're all occupied, so they weren't able to allow me in. The staff was very friendly, very informative. They have lots to offer. They have a library, a gym, a swimming pool, crafts, happy hour, and town hall meetings. They have everything you need."

"It was a great place with many amenities that were great for my grandmother. They have a lot of group and individual activities that help the people there to make friends with each other. The food looked great and the workers were nice to the me and to everyone else there. "

"This is a very good assisted living community, my grandmother is currenlty living there and she is very happy. I know the staff is very good because she has made close friendships with many of the staff and believe me she would tell me if they were not being nice, she has no problem expressing herself. the food choices she has are great and the food itself is very good as well, I have tried it. The facility is always spotless and well maintained very clean without that hospital smell. They offer trips and bring the residents out to places like parks, shows, and even the Saratoga Racino my grandmother is very happy there and is very much with it. I really don't have anything negative to say about the place with the exception of sometimes message are delayed. I left a message for her telling her I wouldn't be able to visit on a day I usually do because my wife went into labor and she didn't get the message until two days later she was very upset and thought I forgot about her. Other than that it is a great place. "

"My tour at Glen Eddy was good. But since my mother's not ambulatory, I didn't like the layout of the place. The staff who gave the tour was fine. My mother was not ambulatory and she was like focusing on aspects of the place that really wouldn't apply to my mother. Like she would show me the walking path, my mother is never going to go on the walking path I explained that to her, but it didn't seem to register. I saw the dining area, it looked clean but I didn't try their food. I also saw physical therapy, which I thought was good. I saw a pool and an art room, and I saw them cooking there. They have everything and I like the security that they had there. They let you opt out of the food plan if you want to opt out. You don't get a whole lot of money back, it's like $200 a month if you opt out, which isn't a whole lot, but at least they give you the option. The apartments and the facility itself were beautiful."

"Ingersoll Place Assisted Living is very clean, well staffed, and the maintenance crew is phenomenal. They have done all kinds of magical things to make my mom's room feel homey. They have been very involved with her too, and I assume they are very involved with others as well. It is a very attractive setting, and the facility is very well cared for. My mother said she likes the food, and she has been very praiseworthy of it. She noticed on Easter weekend that apparently the chef and his crew had the weekend off, because there was a big difference in the quality of food. Otherwise, she is pleased with the menu seven days a week. They play bingo, cards, and there is a bus that can take them shopping. There seemed to be a number of activities. It is just my mom is 95 and she's physically not going to do a lot of shopping. There are activities for anyone that wants to avail them. They were very warm, welcoming, very caring, and very considerate. It was nice to see a staff that actually enjoyed working with the seniors, and not just there for the paycheck. The atmosphere is very different. I would figure that the leadership there is the one responsible for the kinds of people they hire, and the kinds of people they continue to maintain as employees. In fact, I was talking to her on the phone when they brought in a rootbeer float for her. You never know what is going to be coming through; it could be a strawberry shortcake or something else."
