"This facility is very expensive from what I've heard but you know what they say, you get what you pay for. Because this facility is very nice, clean, sanitary and well maintained. I would visit this facility once a week for about 3 months and everytime I went to visit the staff was very friendly and prompt to what they say they would do. They would also leave notes for me about how our consumer would be handling her adjustments and her attitude without me even asking.I've been to about 15 different facilities over the years and this is most definitely one of the cleanest, so if you're a germ freak like I am or if you're just concerned for the health and well being for your family keep in mind that sanitation is very important. "

"My cousin is moving to The Landing at Laurel Lake. The apartment has a little kitchenette, a little room, a bedroom, and a bathroom. The bedroom and the living room are 10 x 12. They're newly redone, carpeted, and painted. Actually, they're redoing the whole facility. They're in the process of moving new furniture into the common and dining area. The executive director took us around, and he was wonderful. We met the nurse, too. They explained everything to us and all our options. I've also tried their food, and it's delicious. And everything is brand spanking new."

"My mom was in Camphill Ghent for a while and she was in the assisted living. She stayed there for about 2 years. Overall, it's probably the best place in the world to go. The food is as organic as possible. It's phenomenal. That's where I wanna go when I get sick or old. The staff is friendly, warm, kind, knowledgeable and everything you would want. They're brand new, they're only like 5 years old. And it was also built in a farm field, so they have ponds, ducks, trees, and deer, and everything is environmentally friendly. Everything is organic, they don't even have wi-fi. They have internet, but it's on wires on the ground, so even for people who are sensitive to like signals and that kind of stuff. They have all sorts of art classes, pottery, woodworking, people come in and play music once a week, and they go on tours."

"We chose Hawthorne Ridge for my aunt because it is close to home. Although she is not there yet, we are impressed with the rooms, the food, and the small number of apartments. "

"We chose Ghent Assisted Living for my friend because it was closest to where she lived so her friends could visit. We've also known about this assisted living for many years and it looked like a decent place so that's why we said she would go there. She moved in last month and she's in assisted living. She seems to be doing well and I think her medical care has improved since she went there. All of her doctors are saying that she's doing better. She's not completely happy, of course, because she wants to be home but she understands that's not possible right now. For the most part, they're taking good care of her. The staff seems to be nice, my friend says they are very nice to her. I've had dealings with them too because I go and visit sometimes and they all seem to be helpful. I don't have any complaints there. She says that the meals are good although sometimes they're not that great. They have activities but she doesn't participate in them, unfortunately. They have an activity department and they do things but I don't think she's interested in that. The place could do some updating as it's a little old-looking. It's hard to tell because it's winter but they seem to have some patios and stuff outside. Of course, nobody can go out there right now."

"I can’t say enough wonderful things about Linda Manor assisted living. My dad has been living there for two years after we lost my mother. I find all the staff, caring and attentive and my father absolutely loves the food! Special kudos go to Jim, the Linda Manor van driver, who has been absolutely wonderful to my father and all the residents! He genuinely cares about the residences, and goes the extra mile to make them feel special! I’m actually writing this as our nation and the world is dealing with the coronavirus, with the stay at home social distancing. I can’t say enough wonderful things of how the staff and management has been taking care of my father and all the residences. We need to applaud the frontline workers, Nurses, aids, Charlie the handyman and those that clean and disinfect all the property and All those that take care of our elderly! I clearly cannot be there with my dad, but I know that he’s well taken care of! "

"My in-laws moved into Vermont Veterans Home a week ago. They were able to work with us very quickly to get our loved ones into the space. The food and the facility seemed good. The location is beautiful. They have a nice pond and deer to look at. There's a nice outdoor space for them. The pricing is very good. The staff seems to be very friendly."

The food is not too good; she is not too crazy about it, and they are having trouble getting her to go to dinner. The atmosphere is very friendly and very clean. It is pretty, well-maintained, and well-kept; I just don't see anything absolutely exceptional. "
