"My mother has been living the for three and a half years. I visit her every day. Generally, she recieves good service there. For example, sometimes she is eating when I arrive and she likes the food a great deal. There is a variety of foods available and they tailor the meal to the needs of each patient. The nurses do a good job of assisting those who need help with feeding themselves. The staff has been generally curteous and friendly to me during my visits. I've seen my mother recieve physical therapy here and I was happy to see that they were helping my mother regain some leg strength after a recent hospital stay.If I had to say anything negative abhout the location, it would be that I have observed nurses on occasion not being very responsive to toileting needs and they sometimes take a while to respond to call lights. Recently, they have also been renovating the parking making it difficult for me to visit. "

"My grandmother is in Water's Edge Center for Health and Rehabilitation. It's very clean, very simple, and everybody seems very kind. She doesn't like the food so much and doesn't participate, but they have physical activities like wellness, and a shuttle to a shopping center."

"My mom stayed at Luxor Nursing and Rehabilitation at Mills Pond. The place was clean, and the staff members were very attentive. They were in constant contact with me and answered all my questions. They were great. One of the social workers was great, and the other one was a little bit of a snotty woman. Luxor was great. I'd ask for a test, and if they didn't do it, they'd give me a reason that was concrete and reasonable. Other people who went there had nothing but good experiences, too. That was one of the reasons my mom went there."

"My mother is at The Pines at Bristol Center for Health and Rehabilitation. I would give them 100. They are pleasant and very friendly. The room was always clean, the entrance was clean, and the kitchen area was clean. I did not find anything to ponder over. The receptionist was very polite. I have no complaints so far. The lobby was welcoming, and they offer you areas to sit. I observed my mom at suppertime and the food was appetizing from looking at it. She said she liked the food. She doesn't have any complaints. She said they took her for a walk. She was there mainly for rehab. They were very active with her because at times I would call, she's away with physical therapy. She said she enjoys their company and the nurses. I saw a gym area. I think she gets her money's worth. She talks highly of the staff."

"Different people I knew worked there at Bentley Gardens. It was a good tour. Their food was good, and the dining area is excellent. They have all kinds of stuff for activities. The rooms are good. The facility is secured enough for the residents. "

"The facility is older, and looks as such in outward appearance. However, upon leaving your car to enter, one walks through a nicely landscaped patio area which is often a popular spot for residents. The facility is very clean, well-staffed, and there is always a staff member close by and willing (and more importantly, able) to help with anything. The food, from what my grandmother has told me, is much better than the previous assisted living facility she stayed at. Anytime there is an accident of any sort, be it a small fall or something very minor, a prompt call is always received. Small things are done to help make the resident feel more comfortable and at home. Overall, the care is very good and the staff is very concerned with the well-being of the residents. I recommend this facility without reservation and believe that it is one of the better facilities available. "

"Since I have been here the first floor staff has been great. They helped me with my ADL's. The nurses on the first floor were excellent (all shifts). I am now on the second floor and the staff is also great! They help with phone call and all the staff have been very supportive and patient. The therapy staff was excellent and I will come back if I need short-term rehab again. "

"I would definitely recommend this live in rehab to anyone who needs it! My grandma was back on her feet in no time. The first time she was there, it was for 6 months, and we are actually looking to get her to stay there permanently. The nurses are on top of things and are all so nice! Meals were always brought on time, whenever she needed anything it the nurse was there at attention. Therapy goes on everyday, a hairstylist comes in and does their hair weekly, and they have activities any elderly person would like! "

"My mother is in Milford Health and Rehabilitation Center. She's in long-term care. We chose it because it's close to me. Everyone there is very nice. The layout is nice. They have a dining area, which they don't use right now because of Covid. They have a covered area where they can go sit outside. It's nice there. It's not very big, and I like that. We're not able to go in her room because of Covid, and she has a roommate. She likes the food, and she's happy there. There's a church, and she supposedly goes to church on Sundays. They have an area where they play games, but I don't know what's going on right now. The staff is very nice."

"I went to the Mary Wade Home to visit my grandmother with my family. It by far one of the best nursing homes I have been to in my experience. The staff there is very friendly and very respectful to the patients and family. There always nurses around ready to assist you. I really felt at home when I walked in. They seemed to be taking great care of my grandmother and she had no complaints from what I could see. Everything was very clean and if there was an incident, it was taken care of right away. There were no foul smells when I went there either. The food was very good. They had a lasagna dinner that night which was tasty and they offered food to my family which I was not expecting. I was pleasantly surprised. My family really enjoyed it. Overall, I was pleased to see that my grandmother was in such good hands and I really had peace of mind leaving there. I knew I could trust the Mary Wade Staff with her. It's a wonderful place and I would recommend it to anyone! "

"Apple Rehab in East Haven is a very good facility. The PT department is particularly good compared to other facilities. The PT staff is highly skilled and there is vast array of equipment. If you or your loved one are looking for a good short-term rehab facility, I would encourage you to look at Apple Rehab in East Haven. "

"My partner stayed at RegalCare at New Haven, but it was a terrible place. It was supposed to be for rehab for him to walk, but then when he got there, they never gave him any rehab. First night there, I said to them, "Give me some towels. I'll bathe him for you," and they looked at me like I had three heads and said to me, "We have no towels right now," and I was like, "Excuse me?" then they said, "All we can give you is a bath blanket to dry him with." She gave me this bath blanket. I went into the shower room and there were pampers all over. It's showing that it wasn't cleaned after each patient, and it was terrible. I came every day and the next day, I found my partner sitting in a corner drooling on himself so he was soaking wet. I said no, and I can't leave him there. They had him mixed up with everybody, and it wasn't a safe spot for confused people like him. They had a blind man, and they put his food in front of him and he ate it like a dog. They dont have the facility to take care of people with dementia or lost memories. Some of the staff members were very kind and concerned and they knew right from wrong, and there were some that didn't care or were too busy. The food was terrible though. The facilities were smelly, which I understand, but the dining area where people come in and eat had cloth seats on them, and if they peed on the seat, it was not cleaned, but instead a blue pad was put on top of it so the next person could sit on it. They should have seats that can be wiped down every day. I was overwhelmed, so I leave the place crying every day because I was leaving him behind."

"Willows Care and Rehabilitation Center was a really good place. The people there were very nice. The place was clean and very bright. The rooms were nice and bright, too. They have a 20-minute turnaround time for the aide to come when the resident pushes the call button, which I think is amazing. They have a different menu every day for the meals. The staff who gave me the tour was great."

"The staff is stellar...remembering all family members names no matter how often they come to visit. They truly care for their patients, both physically and emotionally. I would rate this facility a 5 if only they were able to find the funding to create a more appeasing appearance to their facility. But they do not have the luxury to do so...which is okay because the staff more than makes up for what aesthetics lack. "

"Whitney Center was very nice. I like everything that they do for the people that lived there. I had a meal there and it was very well done. It was like a high class restaurant. Their rooms were like apartments and it had lots of closets and space so people wouldn’t have to condense as much as you would think when you move in there. "

"The staff was diligent and well trained. Care was given in a caring and compassionate way. PT sessions were conducted on regular basis and tailored to the individuals needs. The food was served in a clean and open setting with residents encouraged to mix together. The diversity and portion size was adequate but not great. They tried to do rotating meal choices but it was difficult as many of the residents were there for extended times. In a situation like this nearly anything becomes repetitive. The facility was aging. Flooring and wall coverings and treatments were aging and wearing. Equipment was available for medical care use but was aging as well.Security was acceptable but was mainly for keeping the residents from wandering away rather than to keep outsiders from entering ( not viewed as a problem). My mother in law was there for about six months as she recovered and rehibilitated from surgery. I would rate the entire facility / staff as the middle of the scale but it was convenient for my father in law and affordable. All in all it was a safe and acceptable place that allowed my mother in law to recover and did not break the bank. "

"My great uncle had a long stay here due to a redo of a knee replacement. His room was large and airy. Clean is not the word, this place was immaculate! The comfort you feel while visiting actually makes you want to return. It's a very bright and cheery place. His knee was well tended to and his continuous physical therapy had him mobile in no time.
