"California Post Acute Care is very clean. They have nurses and staff at all hours making sure that the residents' rooms are clean, that they are being checked on, and that they are taken care of. My aunt is a resident there. Every time I go to visit her, she is clean. Her bedding and room is clean. She has open lighting from the window, so she gets sunlight into her room. They have activities. They have a couple of nice patio areas that the residents can go outside and sit. So, I've been happy with them so far. My aunt likes the food. It is just a little bit of an older facility."

"My grandmother is an 88 yr old Dementia patient at Downey Care Center. The staff are very attentive ,kind-hearted,and compassionate. The facility has ameneties such as a rehabilitation room,a rec room for arts and crafts,and they also offer a garden. My only complaint about the facility is its sometimes faulty maintenance in the public restrooms. My grandmother seems to be enjoying her stay nontheless and I'd happily reccomend it to anyone. "

"My sister has been in Paramount Meadows Nursing Ctr. for four years now. It's a nice community, and the nurses are really nice to her. It's pretty clean and the dining area is nice and big. They serve the same thing every day, which is why she doesn't like it anymore. They play bingo, cards, and watch movies. They have different activities for them. The residents are either in the dining room or in their room. They should have more activities."

"This facility is rt accross the street from a large medical center and located rt in the middle of downtown. Near shopping and restaurants. It is on a nice, quite street - away from the main street going through town. Downey is a very safe community. This facility has a excellant reputation. I found it to be very clean and staff are friendly. Resident's seem happy and well cared for. They specialize in dementia care and have a locked side. They also care for mentally ill patients on one side of the building, altho they are segregated from the elderly population. I liked the caring feeling I had in walking through the facility. It was non-odorous and the activity program is great. They seem to keep the resident's very busy. I would consider this facility. "

"My ex-husband is at Lakewood Healthcare. He is only 61 and feels comfortable in that place because he says that there are younger people there. He is in the psychiatry section where there are only men. I don't know if that's the right place for him, but he is content to be there. He has memory loss and paranoia. He is also delusional. He thinks about all kinds of things. I think they're taking care of him, but I don't like that they wash the clothes all together. His clothes are always missing. He doesn't have a bedside table, too. They feed my ex-husband. If they want to shower, they will shower them. They cut his nails, they cut his hair, and they shave him. However, I think they need to clean more. Some of the staff members are friendly. The room is big enough for three people. However, even though the room is big, they cannot even have a bedside table. That's the thing. They have to put on better mattresses, too, because I think what they have are too old. My ex-husband says that they play bingo and that they listen to music. They let them go out on a patio. Three times a day, they take them out. Some people smoke there."

"Windsor Gardens has four wings with different types of patients. It's very clean, the care is excellent and my friend is getting wonderful therapy. The food is good, and the people are extremely nice and very accommodating to her. They have a craft time, movie time, and chair dancing."

"Windsor Convalescent has the friendliest nurses and staffs. I saw how they treat thier residents like family. Whenever a call bell lights up, they immediately attend to the residents needs. A nurse assistant was so diligent in checking on the resident and change the resident's position regularly. I would highly recommend Windsor Convalescent. "

"I'm here in West Gardena Post Acute for four days now. I don't like the place. The first room they moved me to when I first came here was nice, but they told me I couldn't stay, so they moved me to another room, and it's horrible. Their TV is hard to work with. I haven't found the program I wanted to watch. There are so many boxes. When I brought up something that I wanted to watch, they said I had to pay for it, and I didn't like that. The staff members are very uneven. Some were very good, while others should be doing something else for a living. The room they put me in is small, and in the back, there is nothing to look at. I would not recommend it. Some of the rooms I saw looked pretty nice, but this particular one I'm stuck in, is not what it seems."

"Overall, I am pleased with this facility. This is mainly because of the staff. It is very important for someone in these situations to be seen and heard as a human being. It is important to be able to maintain your dignity and I believe the staff here makes an effort in that. I feel like the Physical Therapy received here could be better. I don't think that they step out of the box in treating the patients. They follow a strict regimen and pattern without listening to what the patients desires are. The food here leaves alot to be desired. My Mom has lost over 20 lbs. in her 2 1/2 months here and her room mate was told today that she lost 3 lbs. in a week. The appetite and nutrition play a huge part in rehabilitation and also in maintaining good health. I think more emphasis should be placed on improving the meals in this facility. I have heard countless people complain about the food they are served and many are just picking at their plates, losing weight and becoming weak. "

"Initially, the admissions's coordinator met with us to discuss my dad needs, our concerns, and to answer our questions. She assured us that the center staff would coordinate their care of my dad with his doctor. That is exactly what they did. They kept accurate records, so I was always able to corroborate the doctor's orders with how they were caring for my dad. Also, my dad is a very picky eater but he ate well at this center and told me he enjoyed the food. The meals were consistently well planned, fresh and served with care. The nurses keep my dad clean and his bedding was always clean and neat. The facility is a nice size, not too large, with sufficient staff. It is nestled away in a quiet area near the hospital, and residents have a nice patio-type space for outside seating, walking and activities. "
