"The facility is a pretty good one, as far as the standard of cleanliness and care that I have seen while visiting. One of the main things though that is annoying is the billing. They have consistently tried to bill us for the use of oxygen for my grandmother when she has never required it, and it has never been ordered by her doctor. We have refused to pay this specific portion of the bill until they produce documented proof that they have a doctor's order, or that the oxygen was used and needed at the time. So far they have not given us any documentation, nor have they initiated any type of collection. The same charge just shows up again the next month. Other than that, she is total care and seems to be happy at this place. "

"My ex-husband is at Lakewood Healthcare. He is only 61 and feels comfortable in that place because he says that there are younger people there. He is in the psychiatry section where there are only men. I don't know if that's the right place for him, but he is content to be there. He has memory loss and paranoia. He is also delusional. He thinks about all kinds of things. I think they're taking care of him, but I don't like that they wash the clothes all together. His clothes are always missing. He doesn't have a bedside table, too. They feed my ex-husband. If they want to shower, they will shower them. They cut his nails, they cut his hair, and they shave him. However, I think they need to clean more. Some of the staff members are friendly. The room is big enough for three people. However, even though the room is big, they cannot even have a bedside table. That's the thing. They have to put on better mattresses, too, because I think what they have are too old. My ex-husband says that they play bingo and that they listen to music. They let them go out on a patio. Three times a day, they take them out. Some people smoke there."

"My dad was at the Downey Care Center before he passed away. It was good. I thought it was nice. I would say that if I needed a place to be, I would like to be there. The room is clean and nice. There are two beds. We share a room. They have their own TV, so that was good. I like the staff. The only thing about the staff was that my dad thought they were a little bit rough with him when they put him in a wheelchair like they were pushing fast. Other than that, I didn't see anything else. They did play bingo or lottery, but I didn't see much activity. But they did have Bible study, which was good."

"My mom is staying in Brookfield Healthcare Center. It's clean, friendly, and very welcoming. The room is very sizable, open, and warm. The staff have been very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. They do bingo, coloring, painting, crafts, and other activities. The food is very good and very pleasant. However, parking is not easy. It's a very small parking lot, and I need to find a spot there and wait."

"The environment there was generally relaxing. My grandfather liked it there because he was always occupied with various activities and group projects hosted by the home. I personally witnessed and my Grandfather actually was enjoying himself. Although the atmosphere is generally calm, there are common outbursts of residents who dislike being there. They break out in yells and say they want leave and be with their family. I feel sad when I hear this but at least we are able to visit my grandfather instead of just abandoning him there like other families. Overall, I was okay with entrusting Southland Lutheran Home with my grandfather because even before leaving him there I checked it out myself. I had seen many residents out of their room roaming around the halls and lobbies of the home. They did seem to cooperate with each other in the activities mentioned earlier. I witnessed the employees there and they seemed busy with each resident which was a good thing. I saw no resident calling for help in vain. There was always a helping hand for each resident in need. I liked that about Southland Lutheran Home. "

"This place smells bad, the nurses do not attend the patients when needed and they do not value the patients peace and quiet. For a center that houses so many older patients, they sure don't respect their rest. Patients are stacked up to 3 to a room with less than 2 feet in between patients. There was patients calling for care for over 20 minutes and no one came to help them. Staff appears to be more overly involved with their own gossip. I would hate to keep a loved one at this site. "

"Villa Elena is an older nursing home environment with friendly, helpful staff. Parking is convenient. The outside landscaping of tall cactus complements thick, Spanish-style entrance doors. The inside is decorated with plain tile floors, cream walls with wallpapered border accents. This older facility is usually decorated for seasons and holidays. The staff members reflect genuine care and concern for the patient's well-being. Villa Elena's has an excellent Activities Department that offers a wide variety of congregational activities for the residents. The rooms are quite comfortable and adequate with tones of cream and light green. "

"My mom was at Norwalk Skilled Nursing for about three months. The facility was referred to us when she still in the hospital. It was a very good home for my mom. I really liked it there. The staff were very loving, caring, and friendly. Anytime we have questions, they were willing to help us with. Her room wasn't too big and she has a roommate. They also had some kind of activity going. They were getting tired of the food because it's the same food over and over. There are also a couple of times when I went there I noticed a smell on the place. "

"Colonial is a good place to have a friend or relative to live in. I know it is old fashioned but that is what catches your eye.Im very pleased with this nursing home.From the Administrator to your nurses.Very caring and helpful in everything.Thank you"

"California Post Acute Care is very clean. They have nurses and staff at all hours making sure that the residents' rooms are clean, that they are being checked on, and that they are taken care of. My aunt is a resident there. Every time I go to visit her, she is clean. Her bedding and room is clean. She has open lighting from the window, so she gets sunlight into her room. They have activities. They have a couple of nice patio areas that the residents can go outside and sit. So, I've been happy with them so far. My aunt likes the food. It is just a little bit of an older facility."

"My sister has been in Paramount Meadows Nursing Ctr. for four years now. It's a nice community, and the nurses are really nice to her. It's pretty clean and the dining area is nice and big. They serve the same thing every day, which is why she doesn't like it anymore. They play bingo, cards, and watch movies. They have different activities for them. The residents are either in the dining room or in their room. They should have more activities."
