"My mom moved to Ivy Park of La Palma earlier this year and we are so pleased! First of all this community looks like a mansion and feels like home. Everyone who works there is always smiling and happy. You never see frowning staff or hear anyone complaining. The meals are great and the residents have meal options. My mom enjoys all the activities: jewelry making, painting, games, and journeys to museums or just sightseeing. The directors including Jennifer the executive director and Alana the marketing director are always pleasant, available, and approachable. I know my mom is safe and well cared for at Ivy Park of La Palma because the systems are all in place and my mom is relaxed and very happy. The proof is in the pudding!"

"I moved to Brookdale Uptown Whittier. I'm mostly taking part in their food. The cook is very good. The food is good. They cook from scratch. The dining rooms are set like a five-star restaurant. You sit down, and then the servers come, and they have a menu, two choices per day of something different, so they do have selection. They have a very nice salad bar with fresh fruit. I was just impressed by how good the food was. We had crab cakes, and they tasted like real crab cakes and baked chicken. They don't use a whole lot of salt. Everything was just tasty. I was surprised. This room is a nice size room for a one bedroom. I have a living room. I'm just impressed with my balcony. It's a very well-kept place. They have great activities. They have a painting class. They have bowling activities. They have an activity room. They also have a television room. I like that when you're eating, they play our music from the 60s and 70s. Everybody is so friendly and kind, and I like that there was the one who signed me up, she is awesome. I call her sister from another mother. She's so caring. The staff is friendly and accommodating. They call you by your first name."

"Whittier Glen Assisted Living looked good, but it's not for us because we're still independent. For us, it looked kind of sad. They showed us a room and it looked clean. There's not enough parking. There's not enough place outside for people to enjoy the day or enjoy outside. The staff was really good. There were some people outside sitting and talking. We didn't see any activity. The dining area looked good, was small, but it looked clean."
