"I was very impressed with Harmony at Reynolds Mountain. I wanted to move in tomorrow. I thought the size of the whole apartment was very nice. I would move in tomorrow if I could. I'm at the point where I really want to be out of here and then to a place like that because it was so interesting. They have a cocktail hour twice a week, they have all kinds of activities that sounded good, and they would take you to the doctor's appointments. The only thing I have a hard time with was because I had to park in the visitor's parking lot, it was very difficult for me to walk up the hill to where you had to go in. My son came with me and helped me up the hill. I think if I'm in independent living and I'm driving my car that would be somewhat of a problem because then I would have to walk up the hill to get to the front door. But I thought the apartments that they showed me are very promising. Everything was there. They had beautiful kitchens, stoves, and refrigerators. They have a patio downstairs. I thought the person who gave the tour was excellent. One other thing that I think they should have had that they didn't, is that if you're living in the independent section, there are no railings on long walks to the dining rooms and whatnot. I think if you're independent, they figure that you can do anything you want. You can live independently but show me a railing on a long walk. The staff was phenomenal. She was very, very good. "

"I am in Spring Park now. It's nice, they keep it clean. People that visit have remarked about the cleanliness of the place. I think the staff do a good job. We haven't had anyone here with the virus. We've had about six people, I think, that checked positive, but then the next test would be negative, so they've all been false positives. They've kept us out of the way of it anyway. I think the food is very good. We have a chef that used to be the chef at a place which is for rich people really. They have very expensive homes up there. He was there for several years, and he's been here now, I believe, for five years. We have a lady who is full time in the acitivities department, and she's always got something planned for the people."

"My father will be moving into Manning Square. He liked that facility. It's excellent, very attentive to our needs, and compassionate. Shelby gave me the tour and she is very knowledgeable and professional. We have a one-bedroom apartment, that is beautiful. They had different floor plans and we got to tour them all, occupied and unoccupied, and they're spacious and very personal. I think what won my father over was knowing that there are so many activities planned and that the people that live there are part of the decision-making process. They have a spa, a puzzle area, and three common living rooms. They also have a garden. They're pet friendly and they have a lot of activities. The food looked great. We went during lunch and everybody was eating everything as if it were good food."

"I moved my mom into Cherry Springs about 2 months ago and it has been great so far. She was living at home with me and I started to feel I was doing her an injustice as I juggled my family and her care. Since moving in she has gotten involved in activities been more social and just seems overall happy. It is an older building but the staff is fantastic as you can tell they are truly caring and attentive. "

"My mom is currently at Lake Pointe Landing. The staff is excellent and everyone there seems to understand the limitations of the elderly, and they accommodate them. I witnessed the receptionist make a phone call regarding cell service for one of the residents, and she was on the phone for 45 minutes resolving that woman's issue. The nurses and the CNAs are fabulous. The food is fabulous too. It is really, really good. My mother is in a one-bedroom apartment, so they're not in communal living. They are in their own living space. They have bridge, bingo, and movies all the time. They have musicians, bible study, and church services. If you want to do something, you can do something every day there. The grounds are beautiful and wonderfully kept. The amenities are well done. The buildings are upscale luxury, and I find it to be a cruise ship on land for the elderly. Everybody seems to care about my mother. They know her by name. I'm on a first name basis with every nurse over there because they always call me or I call them. They're open to family interaction with the staff. So, when I have a concern about my mother, I just call up and ask to speak to the nurse on duty, and I get her. I feel very safe leaving my mother under the care of those people, down to the people who clean the rooms and the food delivery. The chef is absolutely wonderful. He has made several birthday cakes for my mother. I am most impressed with the staff."

"Carolina Village was absolutely an outstanding facility. They have everything there, from homes that you can buy or homes that you can rent. They have also apartments. They have excellent central facilities. They have all the things that you like to see, including very large medical assistance facility. The thing that turned out to be a negative is that the price of getting in there was exceptionally high. They explained that to me as it being like a medical insurance rather than an entrance fee. However, I was very impressed with this facility. The facility was excellent. The only thing was that it was very pricey, but the amenities, the cleanliness and all that were outstanding. "

"My mom will be moving into Sunnybrook Assisted Living this month. What I like about them is that they're a smaller place and they're a family-owned business. Once you pay for the room, you don't pay for additional assistance. They give you whatever assistance you need. In the room rate, everything was pretty much all-inclusive. They also help provide referrals to caregivers, which is very helpful. They have a few different-sized rooms. The one that we looked at was what they call their medium size and it had a large walk-in closet. It was big enough for a seating area as well as a sleeping area. They would provide the furnishings. And so, that was very helpful because they provided a hospital bed and there's no additional charge for that. The room was very nice. It was very clean. It was very well organized. I didn't see anything that I had any kind of issue with. She apologized because she said they didn't get a chance to clean it yet, but I didn't see anything wrong with it. So even without it being deep cleaned, it still was very, very clean. The staff was extremely helpful and extremely nice. She answered all my questions. She was very friendly. She let me take some pictures of the room so I could share that with my siblings and let them see what the room would look like. My mom is diabetic and they said they would have no problem providing her with a diabetic-friendly meal. "

"My husband is in Cardinal Care, and I am very happy with it. I like the friendship of the caregivers, and they are very caring people. They are always in his room, talking to him, and he is not left alone. They take care of their patients. They are very loving and very kind to them. The rooms are very large. They are very nice. They have huge windows. My husband's room overlooks an area with grass, a picnic table, and a patio where he can look out and see other people outside. He can go out if he wants to. In that certain area, they don't have to be supervised to go out. He likes to walk. They have 2 huge closets in his room and a big bathroom. They furnish the bed. You can bring anything in that you want from home or buy furniture for it to make him comfortable. We put in pictures that he likes. We bought some plants in for him. It is very homey. They have a new nutritionist there. They have very good varieties of food. They had a Saint Patrick's day party for the family and friends that wanted to come. They had corned beef, cabbage, and everything, and it was very nice. They have older bands that come in and play songs that they know. They also have parties. They have bingo and all kinds of activities. There is an activities chairman there. They have different things for different people. They have ice cream socials and movies. They also have physical therapy there for the people that need it. It is a very nice place. They take good care of the people. He is always shaven and always clean, and they check him every 2 hours. "

"Mountain View is an old building, but you feel like home when you walk through the door! I had a family member here and I wouldn’t have of placed them anywhere else. The staff at Advent Health Hospital,Henderson county DSS and several people in the community raved on the staff before she was placed their. I applaud Sydney and Crystal for running the facility so well. Thank you Mountain View! "

"My mother was at Tore's Home #21. They were great and it had a homey environment. They cared for their clients and they were attentive. I was impressed. She was more relaxed and it was quieter than where she was. They had activities, a large TV room, nice private rooms, a big kitchen, and a dining area. The food was commercially brought in, but you can keep the food in the refrigerator and the cabinets. The meals seemed nicely prepared and for those who can, they sit around the dining room table. The clients seemed to be there a long time. It's cost effective compared to other places."

"I don't do reviews often but realized this would have helped me when I was searching. My father was a memory care resident at the Landings of Mill River, he passed away in July. Prior to getting there he was a resident at a large national chain of assisted living facilities for about four years. I had no complaints at the previous place but when I got to the Landings of Mills River I saw another level of care. The staff was attentive, caring and on top of my father's needs. They are focused on not only his comfort and his physical health, but also his mental health by engaging him in daily activities, leading to a 'happier dad'. The physical therapist was spectacular, such a kind, patient man. The nurses were beyond good, always focused on the well being of those under their care. The price, compared to the national chain, was much better, in this case I paid less, my father got better care and I slept easier knowing I had found the right place for my dad. The building is brand new, the facilities are excellent. I recommend the Landings of Mills River. Pat K"

"I toured Trinity View. Its location is relatively quiet. The people seem very happy. The staff seems excellent. The common areas seem very good."

"The cleanliness and their professionalism are few of the factors is why Heather Glen is my choice for my mother. Their Director is extremely informative. She introduces me to all the employees even those in-charged of the kitchen. It is a smaller community as compare from where she was and they are able to give more care and observe what she is doing on a daily basis. They manage her medicine and we know she is taking it properly. The food is excellent. The housekeeping is really good. Everybody is just in a cheerful mood. It is located where it has a good view of the mountains and in a peaceful setting. All the amenities are there and they do a lot of different things with the people like boat rides, bingo, cookouts and they keep them entertained. They keep them active as much as possible. The constantly watch and evaluate them and they inform me if there is anything out of the line and needs to be addressed with my mom. I am extremely happy where she's at and she seems to be more pleased also. "

"I went to almost every place in town, and Arbor Terrace seemed like they gave me the most information. I felt like that the residents were taken care of; the best care out there of any place that I saw in town. They got back to me immediately. The menu is catered to individual residents. The dining room is nice. They have more activities depending on how severe the dementia is. I like how the staff care for the residents. "
