My sister is in Esplanade. I feel it's excellent. The thing is that she has to work with them and do certain things and get up. She's been reluctant. She's just here a few days, so she's disoriented, but they're trying to get her to exercise and do a lot of other things. She's there for respite for now and then we'll see how it goes. She has a studio room, but she has her own kitchenette, bathroom, a lovely full-size bed, table and chairs, TV, and phone. It's lovely. They have movie nights, bingo, different exercise, yoga, and chair exercises for the seniors. They have a social director that tries to get them moving and doing things. If you want anything like a beauty parlor or if you want a doctor or a podiatrist to come in, they will check your insurance and they'll work with you. The staff is excellent. They even have aides available, which you have to pay extra for. The staff has been very good. If I ask for anything, they're very responsive. She's been eating which is good because she wasn't eating at home, which means she likes what they're giving her. She eats most of it, which is good.

We toured Esplanade. It was very good. Everything was nice and clean. The staff were very nice and very helpful. They gave a great tour. Nice rooms. They have physical therapy, they have doctors on site, and they have excellent food. The staff were very friendly. What's nice about them is when you visit somebody there, they feed you also for a small fee.

Esplanade is just 10 minutes away from where I'm living in a condo now. When I visited there, the lady who took me around was very, very helpful. She answered all of my questions and was very, very welcoming. All the people I met were very pleasant and very welcoming. The general appearance of the room was very nice and the couple of rooms that I looked at, that were available, were being updated (they still looked quite nice though). They have a lot of outings and a lot of events going on at all times.

We're gonna put mother-in-law in Esplanade. The woman who showed us around was absolutely phenomenal. She was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Any questions we had, she answered. She made her feel very comfortable. The place was very clean and organized. It was exactly what we were looking for. With all that, it really fell into place for us. She chose the studio apartment. It is a little on the small side, but she's only one person. She didn't need a one or two-bedroom. It was very nice and comes furnished if you wanted it to be. It has a kitchenette. It comes with a microwave, refrigerator, TV, and telephone (all included). The accommodations are all new for anybody moving in after the first person moves out; it was very clean and very nice. They have many onsite activities, and they also plan trips for offsite activities. They have two dining halls. They have set menus, but they also have ala carte if you don't like what they have set for that day.

We have a signed lease to go into Esplanade. We went, we loved it, and then we took my mother back to look at it. She fell in love with it and we got everything in the process. It's beautiful. It's extremely clean and very well kept. Everybody is extremely friendly, and they know everybody's name. They bent over backward to accommodate my mother because she's afraid to go high, so they made sure they got an apartment on the low floor for her. My mother was extremely impressed with it. We know people who have family members there and they said the food is excellent. The menu is very accommodating for everybody. If you don't like what their special is of the day, they have ala carte, so they can make what you need or what you want to eat and they go by your medical needs, too. They know what each resident needs because of their condition. We've watched them play bingo and cards, they have a book club where they sit and read together, and my mom saw all three of them and she's very interested in it. My mom is not even living there yet and everybody that we walked by stopped and said hello to her, asked her how she was doing, and they were very attentive. My mother loved their menu. It had specials every day and if you don't want the special, they have ala carte, and you can pick what you want. She was very impressed as we were with the menu and the size of the staff. Everything is new. They just redid the room my mother will be getting. They're redoing the whole room, the carpet, and the paint. The place is immaculate. You don't see anything on the floor. It's spotless and very updated.

My mother used to live in Esplanade Staten Island and our experience was excellent. It was clean and very pretty, the rooms were a nice size, and the people there really look out for the residents. But they don't provide any assistance, so if you need help like taking a shower, you'd really need an aide. They had a lot of activities. But it was very expensive. My mom was there for 2 and half years. The staff was very caring, very accommodating, very protective, and they took strict COVID precautions when they needed to; they're all very lovely. It's very nicely laid out on the inside. It was a converted hotel, so it has a hotel feel to it when you walk in. They had bingo, book club, concerts, they had dances, they would take people who wanted to go to church every Sunday, and they had physical activities, exercise classes. And before COVID, they took people on trips to restaurants and to shop in the neighborhood and they also had arts and crafts. They had a physician that sees them there.

My mom likes living at The Esplanade a lot. She says the food is good, and it has good variety. The staff is very friendly, attentive, and courteous. They used to have activities for the residents, and they used to have bingo before COVID.

Both my 94 year old mom and 83 year old mom in law have resided at The Esplanade for 6 years. We have always been very happy with everything and have referred many others too! This year with the pandemic the staff has gone above and beyond for the residents from the administration to the food staff, maintenance etc. I highly recommend The Esplanade for anyone looking for safe, loving place for their senior relatives!

The Esplanade was very pretty modern. The gal we spoke to managed it, but it was not what we needed. They only supplied the room, and we had to get our own personal staff. My friend was blind and was very hard of hearing, so, we would have to get our own people and I was not comfortable with that and neither was my friend. We decided that it was out altogether, but it did not mean it was a bad place. It was a very pretty place. I was sure that people who did not have her handicap would do very well there.

Esplanade Senior Residences is very elaborate, very nice, and well run. It’s the best facility that I have seen so far. Everybody was watching over the residents. The meals are great. My friend is very pleased with this facility. They take the residents to church services, doctors’ appointments, and to the beauty salon. It is very high-priced, but they offer excellent services. I would definitely recommend this place.

Esplanade was a very nice place, but the rooms were very small. It was expensive. The grounds were nice; it’s like a hotel. They had a back terrace, a game room downstairs, and the building itself was very nice. They take them on trips, and they have parties. The neighborhood is fairly good.

My father moved into Esplanade over 2 months ago. He does get quite a lot of attention. There are a lot of activities, and he’s getting lots of stimulus. There’s crafts, movies, and interaction with other people of the same age. We paid extra for the nurses; they’re excellent with good attention given. It’s absolutely clean. Housekeeping is more than equipped and does a beautiful job. The food is good.

We chose Esplanade Senior for my stepmother. What I like most about it is the physical aspect of the facility. The room is a very nicely renovated, comfortable efficiency room. It didn't have a stovetop, but it has a refrigerator, a microwave, and a sink. The location also is very good for the family. They have a lot of activities compared to other places that we went. My stepmother really does participate in a lot of them, and she enjoys them. They have bingo and jewelry making. Everything seems wonderful; however, my stepmom said that the food in the dinning room could be better. They have two offices in the facility where different doctors come different days of the week. They also have an office for health care aide, so for seniors who like some assistance, they could just go down and hire somebody and they can even do it by the hour. They also have a free shuttle service that will take seniors to doctors' appointments within 10 miles.
