"Mira Vie at Warren was beautiful. I loved it. The people were very nice. The community was beautiful. My drawback was the demographics, because even though I'm 70, I think the people are older. I loved that they had underground parking. That was important to me, especially in New Jersey. I know I could feel comfortable there. The staff was wonderful. Everyone that I came in contact with, and also the residents, were very friendly and very welcoming. I had coffee and pastries and they were good. The common areas were gorgeous. The room was wonderful. It just didn't have enough closet space for me."

"We toured The Delaney at Bridgewater. It was very clean and very neat, and they were very good at getting back in touch with us. They spent a lot of time with us. We were there for probably three hours, and they didn't hesitate to do that. We all ordered separate food to try different things for lunch, and everybody liked theirs. In addition to that, they gave us all a cookie, which was delicious. My parents have dogs, and you could bring dogs there. They had a good place to walk the dogs in close proximity. Or if you need a long dog walk, you could go around the whole building. They had a salon. They had a place to sit and watch TV and watch the news and stuff like that. My mother loved that kind of thing. They had a lot of amenities."

"Stopped by the community to visit a friend's mom. Beautiful lobby, friendly staff at the desk and lots of residents coming and going. An amazing art exibit going on in the lobby. I want to live here! "

"My sister moved to Coterie Hudson Yards. It's spectacular. It's very expensive, but it's truly a wonderful place. The staff is perfect. They interact wonderfully. They're very caring. They are always watching what you're doing. They're friendly. They're professional. I couldn't speak more highly of them. Her room is not big but has big windows and a beautiful bathroom. It has beautiful walk-in showers. It's a private room. Everything you can imagine of their daily activities like there was a violin concert yesterday. They're always working with people individually. It's top-notch."

"Atria West 86 was gorgeous, but it was too nice, and the residents were too perky. I didn't feel like my mother would fit in. It's not a great place for assisted living because it's over 20 stories high, so when the residents take the elevator up to their own apartments, they're 10 or 20 floors away from people. You're in your own private apartment, and that feels very secluded. The dining rooms were gorgeous. They had a full schedule of classes and trips. Because it's in New York City it takes advantage of a lot of things that New York has to offer. For example, cultural things come in for them. The staff member was lovely, eager to answer our questions, and very personable. The apartments were beautiful, but not appropriate for our needs."

"Villas of Holmdel was a new facility. It was well organized and it had a separate wing for memory care. They had resources 24 x 7 if the residents should have an issue. The place was safe. The menus were appropriate for their residents. The staff was knowledgeable and willing to help."

"I toured the independent living community of Carnegie East House in New York. I like the friendliness of the staff and the whole setup. I like the rooms, the dining area, the common areas, and the menus they offer. I also like the location and the cost. The place struck me as wonderful. It's very appealing and very clean, and I like the decor."

"It seems like a nice place. The exterior area is somewhat institutional though. The apartment that they would have given me is a nice size, although the view is not as appealing. It is a view of traffic and parking lots. The salesperson was very nice. I was able to try the food, and it was alright. The interior is appealing. It shows tastes. There are nice seating areas. However, the exterior is more institutional."

"The Villas was very nice. It's a recent build, so it's beautiful. The amenities were lovely. It was a very nice experience. It was very small. We were told that they had availability, but when we went there, they had this one teeny 500 square foot unit available. The other units were very nice, but very tight as well. They had a couple of outside units with outside access and it felt like zero security. Their only security was, "You're supposed to go to the front desk," and that's not security. It had an external door, so if they left it unlocked, anybody could walk in on your loved ones. Especially my grandmother, who is in the beginning stages of dementia, it felt very unsafe with that type of access. Otherwise, it was very nice. The woman we spoke to was very nice. You had to take a COVID test when you got in, so it felt like they had very good protocols, but it wasn't a good fit. The dining area was very nice and wide open, so it very much felt like a huge restaurant. It didn't really have that cozy feel, but it was a nice area."

"Atria was warm and had a religious atmosphere. The staff was very helpful and very caring. The rooms were very pleasant and nicely laid out. I had one meal, and it was a nice one. They seemed to have a varied menu. They had a ton of activities, a lot of different types. I like the warm, caring atmosphere. They really went out of their way to follow up and to make sure everything was taken care of. "

"Atria Forest Hills is an upscale retirement home located in Forest Hills, NY. I recently visited an elderly friend of mine at the facility after he was admitted to Atria last Fall and I was extremely pleased with almost everything Atria provided for my friend. Upon entering Atria, I was greeted warmly by the staff at the front entrance and proceeded through a rather lavishly decorated lobby to my friends room. It was immediately evident that Atria was an upscale retirement home; it didn't even feel like i was in an assisted living facility. All of the hallways, the rooms, the dining area, even recreational areas were pleasantly decorated and didn't have the hospital-type feeling that is notorious with these types of places. My friend even raved about the treatment he was receiving at Atria; he made a point to complement the nurses and staff for being so nice and attentive with him. He also seemed to love the planned activities that the retirement home had planned for its residents, such as card games, live performances, movies and even occasionally trips outside the facility. Atria Forest Hills made a great impression on me and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable, upscale retirement facility. "

"Atria Riverdale is a very luxurious place. I had lunch there and it was wonderful. The person who showed me around was very nice. They even gave me an apple pie to take home and I was very enthusiastic except that when I got home, I figured out that I couldn't afford it. "
