My husband is at Schaffer for a week now, it's clean, but it's an older facility. There's 2 to a room, but it's quite spacious, quite large, and it has very large windows, and each person has his own closet. It has a very large bathroom, it's nice, and you don't feel crowded at all. The food is terrible, so I always bring food. The staff is responsive, but not overly friendly. They have activities, but not enough to interest people.

DO ANYTHING YOU CAN TO KEEP YOUR LOVED ONE OUT OF THIS FACILITY! My mom had no choice last year but to be transfered into this nursing home from Sound Shore. It was the scariest sight I have ever been to. The staff were cruel to the residents and neglected them. The place was dirty and the food was less to be desired for. It was so sad to see all the residents being treated that way. I did everything I could to get my mom out of there. When I saw 4 star rating I almost fell off my seat! I needed to make sure that no one makes the mistake of putting their loved one in there.
