My grandmother was previously a resident at the new haven manor nursing home in far rockaway, ny. In my experience, the facility was kept fairly clean and organized. 2 patients to a room with a semi spacious bedroom, large windows, extra large handicapped bathroom, personal televisions and standard hospital style adjustable beds. The majority of the staff were helpful and corteus, however there were a few staff members who were not. Some of the nurses had very little patcients for the residents and were very short and rude with them. The lady at the front desk had a big attitude and acted like she was doing you a favor by giving you the location of a patients room. There were plenty of activities for the residents to partake in should they choose too and a rather large activites room. Meals were served three times a day with snacks and refreshments in between with regards to special diets. Overall, I found this facility to be acceptable but with a few improvements that need to be made.
