Friendship Gardens is an ideal setting for my 93-year old mom. The owner and staff are loving and provide great care for her. The home (facility) can have as many as seven residents. Meals are freshly prepared, taste very good, and the staff strongly considers the likes/ dislikes of the residents. I also like the fact that each resident's spiritual and religious beliefs are respected and supported. If I ever reach a point in my life where I need this level of care, I will go to Friendship Gardens.

I toured around Friendship Gardens, and the owner was very nice. I didn't feel it would meet my mom's needs because she has deteriorating eyesight, and the place was just way too dark. They're modernizing the home and working on it, but at this point, they still have a long way to go. Everything's very clean, nice, and simple, but the visuals were not. I felt it would be depressing to go into a home that's so dark, plus the problem of not being able to see. I would also worry if she were to fall in one of the back rooms or in the bathroom, they wouldn't know. They have no surveillance. And that works both ways, not only to protect the patient, but also to protect the owners of the facility. If there's no surveillance and something were to happen, I think it would be a dangerous situation for them to be in. The person who gave me the tour was very personable. They serve home-cooked meals, and the residents that were there felt pleasant enough. They were well dressed and out of their rooms.
