"Life Spire Assisted Living - Albuquerque NE was very elegant and spacious. It had more courtyards and things like that than the other facility. It had the same positives that I had about the other, but because it's a newer facility, it was a little bit more. It has fives across the board. Chris, the marketing person, for Life Spire, was the one who took me on the tour, and he's delightful, warm, and friendly. One of the things that he shared with me that meant a lot to me is that Life Spire is owned by a local couple. It's a New Mexico-born business and that the owners are very hands-on and pitch in when they need to pitch in and that kind of thing. The staff was nice. I met Priscila, the manager, and she's very warm, friendly, and happy to answer questions if I had them. I was just overall impressed with both properties. The only downside for me is that Oakland is farther away from my home here in Albuquerque. That would make the first one a little more attractive to me as far as a place for my mom because I would be closer, but Oakland was absolutely beautiful. I didn't see any of the activities. I did see a calendar, but I didn't pay that much attention to what was on it. They appeared to have a lot of activities scheduled for their residents. There were lots of places for residents to be outside enjoying the sunshine and to be able to walk around. The way they schedule everything for their residents seems to be very logical and in care of their residents."

"Morada Quintessence has been exceptional in making sure that my grandfather has had the best possible care. They have worked with myself and my family to ensure his medications are updated and figure out what would make him most comfortable. They've been phenomenal in keeping in touch with me about updates and any issues that have happened or things I need to be aware of. We have enjoyed working with them thus far. He said the food is pretty good. It's always kept very clean and tidy. The staff members help pick up my grandpa's room if there's trash lying around or anything like that. They empty the trashes frequently and make sure that it's a clean environment. He hasn't been able to take part in activities, but they seem to have a good number of activities available for the residents. They have painting, games, and different art projects. I have been in a few others over the years with my grandma and this one has been by far the cleanest and most well kept."

"While some of the staff members within the house were great, the lack of communication and careful eye on our loved one left something to be desired. We’ve never been given signed agreements, monetary agreements and supplies promised were reneged on, and if our loved one had been watched over as promised, indications of some sort of fall or altercation would have been seen far earlier than when we found them. We also were fine with, while our family member was living there, the staff using our family member’s personal television app account. Sadly, it seemed that the only activity that the residents did was watch television, using said personal account. It would’ve been nice to see the residents be engaged in activity rather than sit around watching tv day and night. Also, while continuously trying to communicate, slowly but surely, the answers started becoming about the owners and speaking to the owners. We never knew who the owners even were until after we put in our 30 day notice. Please be wary and make sure to have everything in writing. We don’t want anyone else to encounter what we’ve been through."

"MorningStar of Rio Rancho was a beautiful memory care community. It looks like a resort, not a care home, and I feel like you're going to get a lot more care there. They had a 1 to 5 staff ratio. In all the different places that we saw, there was a staff member with either one or a group of people, and they were very active. They also had a doctor on call and a physician's assistant on staff. The facility was very open and had beautiful high ceilings in the common areas. The studio suite was the largest of the rooms and there was a beautiful courtyard right outside of it. You will get your own refrigerator and your own shower. The people were very professional and very caring. We talked to Justina and she was very informative. She didn't waste our time, yet she was thorough."

"My mom is at Casa de Paz Village. There isn't anything that I like the least about the community. The best thing is that it is in a house situation with eight little ladies that are residents, and they spend time in a home-like setting, so it's like an open kitchen/living room floor plan. They encourage the ladies to get out of their bedrooms and just spend time in the living room, watching TV or doing whatever. They've got their meals there. The caregivers are hanging out, so to speak, at the table there in the kitchen, so they're right there in front of them. They're eyes-on-hands-on all day long. Then at night when they go to bed, they have motion sensors, and if they get up out of their bed for any reason, then the care team goes over there and then they check on them. Essentially, they have 24-hour a day eyes-on-hands-on care, and I love it. I haven't tasted the food there, but I have witnessed several meals. They have a big meal at lunch and then a smaller meal at night. I've watched them cook and I've seen what they serve them. The meals look wonderful. They look like home things that I would eat myself, so I've been impressed with the meals. With regards to activities, so far, I've seen them take some little clay pots and paint clay pots with acrylic paint. They put newspaper on the kitchen table and get everybody that wants to do it to go over there and paint pots. They also made flowers out of egg cartons thing. They have a table array that has puzzles and things in the corner, but I have not witnessed them actually use that. They have a schedule of different crafts so that every day there's something if the residents want to do it. The staff is awesome. They're wonderful. And the place is pristine, one of the things that I think is really good. Basic health requirements require a three-section sink, and I found this impressive. They've converted that kitchen to exactly that. There's a big old stainless steel three-section sink so that you've got wash, rinse, and sanitize, and right next to it there's a little porcelain sink for washing hands. That was impressive."

"Wellsley is just a small place. They have a very friendly and helpful staff. I chose it for my dad because it has a lot of heart. They are very kind and sweet to their patients. There's a small amount of patients with a large staff. I'm really grateful to this community, we just had a really fun 4th of July party yesterday. My dad likes the food. It's a great place."

"Worse care for your love ones, these people keeped my mom medicated all day. My mom lost 35 pound in the 8 months she was there, I end up taking her to the ER where they clean her up with IV. Horrible care, please if you really care about your love one this is the last place you want to take them. Food was awful, they give them Kool-aid for juice. I had to bring my mom food because when i called her she was always hungry. I stop for lunch one day and the lunch was, frozen fish sticks with can or frozen peas and carrots, another day was frito pie, really ?these are eldery they need to eat healthy, decent meals. The ladies there are mean to them, They don't talk to them, don't interreact with them. They rather give them a pill and put them to sleep. They are horrible. If my mom had stay another month, I don't think she will be here. I have to say there was one lady there, her name is Martha very nice lady, she was the only one that show compasion and was caring like they should be with this poor eldery people. You can't ask questions because they get offended, like when you ask what they eat, why there is peep on the her room floor, why is her dieper always dirty. In other worse look else where."
