The Best Assisted Living Communities in Valencia County, NM

"We found our mom a home in Alma Assisted Living. She has been there for a couple of months now. It's a small and privately owned assisted living home with four bedrooms and a couple of people there. So far it is good. They have a nurse that goes there a couple of times a week and a doctor that goes in on weekends to do evaluations. It is not like living in a medical community. It is more like a house with medical help going to the house. They're providing excellent service for my mom. She likes watching TV and she likes eating their meals as far as I know. The rooms are spacious and very homey. They don't feel like you're in a medical facility, they're very comfortable rooms. I would recommend them to others 100%. "

"My wife is in Espanola House (Caregivers of Albuquerque Assisted Living Homes Espanola House). It has a small home atmosphere and a friendly open space. The facility is clean and the staff is excellent. We are very happy with her care and stay there. She has a one-bedroom unit with a shared bathroom. She is very satisfied with the food. Periodically, they have poeple come in to help with them and they have TV. "

"My mother has been at Little Rose's Board And Care Home for a little while, but so far it's good. It's more like a home. They dispense her medications and provide her three meals a day plus snacks. They take her to the store and where she needs to go. She likes the food. It's affordable for her, but it would be nice if they would provide some activities for them."

"The rooms at Brookdale Valencia are very nice, clean, open, and airy. The whole building is very nice, and the food is good, too. The staff is wonderful. They have entertainment and different things, but I don't know all the activities yet. "

"My father is in Sandia Senior Suites, it’s nice, and the staff is very helpful, and very nice to the residents. His room is clean, they straighten it out, and he likes the food. It’s kind of new, but it’s well-run."

"We found Willow Wood Assisted Living for my mother. I really liked the owner, he was very caring. I had to do a window tour because of COVID, but what I saw I liked, and my mother-in-law was there many years ago. It has a very home-like feel to it, and the caregiver seemed compassionate. The grounds were very nicely kept."

"I would go to Casa De Palomas. The staff was very knowledgeable and very personable. The cheapest room they had was small. It had a bedroom, a living room, and a small kitchen. They do have a one-bedroom with a balcony, and that was quite lovely. The dining room was beautiful. They had several different activities going on. "

"It was great. They took very good care of my mother and were very personable and professional. Everything they did for her was appreciated, but she passed away. It was a retirement facility, but they have a wing for assisted living. The cleanliness was very good."

"My father-in-law has moved into Ravenna Assisted Living. It's clean and organized. The room is fine. It's a little small, but it's the best we could afford. The staff was very professional and courteous. He's only been there for two weeks, when we visited him, he was in a room with an activity with others, but we couldn't tell what kind of activity it was. They went and got him for us. They do have a barbershop and a courtyard outside that is arranged so that they cannot escape. They put it that way because, if they've got dementia, they tend to walk off."

"My husband had a stroke in November and was in the hospital for about 6 weeks. The doctors said he only has 3 months to live. He stayed at this facility for a short time because I couldn’t take care at home. He got more strength here, and improved so well, he can walk to the bathrooms himself with a walker. He enjoyed being around the other residents, hanging on the patio and socializing in the living room, and having music day on Mondays. The food is homemade and is excellent! We will go visit again his caregiver and the friends he made. I’m so amazed of his recovery. He even played a chess game with his daughter. We highly recommend this home! Maria "

"My husband has moved into The Woodmark at Uptown memory care. I was impressed with it. I was impressed with the location, the care that they have, the percentage they have per patient, and the people that I talked to. I like the facilities and the services they have for the residents. I just saw one incident that I certainly didn't appreciate how they were treating the patients. I'm satisfied with the activities. He's not participating a whole lot, but he's in there. He's watching, so I believe that it's going to be good for him."

"My mother has moved to Hilldale House. It's very bright and clean, they have lots of cameras. I really like it very much. They serve home-cooked meals and they're reasonably priced. We chose them because they have a very small group, only about six to eight at a time. It's very modern, it's all on one floor, so there are no ramps. The food is very good and they're very caring. I never see anyone in disarray or having a problem, and they're usually very quick to solve any problems that might arise with the elderly. The doctors on staff are really good, they have a very good medical side to it also. It's a very good place for assisted living folks, and even for some people, like my mother with Alzheimer's, it's a really good fit because they're so warm and hospitable. They had some newer people working there. They had a seated chair exercise regimen, they had entertainment that comes in, and they play some games. It's very homey and very comfortable."

The direct care staff are held to high standards of care for the elders, the home is clean and cheerful, active yet peaceful. The clients always shown the utmost respect! When it became time for my father to move from more independent housing, due to advancing dementia, I chose Constance House for him, to live the remainder of his life! I couldn’t be more happy with the loving attention he recieved, as a daughter and as a professional!! Ms Dimperio is very skillful and full of understanding and compassion! Frequently the residents enjoy cognitive stimulation including singing, listing to music, recognizing places on maps and discussing current and historical events!! Not such easy trivia! I always found the staff responsive to my requests and they always follow up with many medical concerns! "
