"It's has been a terrible experience living here the past five months. I would tell you don't move in here. Management is very poor. Under staffed, room are very hot no way to control the heat and air conditioning in the rooms. A number of people here that need a higher level of care. There's a lot of problems with residents not getting medications properly. Problems with the hot water not enough to take a shower."

"I was rescued by this place! The best part about being a resident there was the sincerity of Alex the Facility Director. My life would have been a mess without a place like this. The worst part about this place was the food hands down. I don't know of a place that has "great" food however as individual tastes differ, but this was the epitome of the worst. My expectations were not for the people who were there, but the people were the best of the experience. My heart just hurts since leaving my friends. My experience with any place like this is what you make of it. Likewise if you're going to make a list of things that bum you out then it's not what this place will make of you but what you make of it. Absolutely no regrets. "

"This facility is located on small grounds with not much room for the patients to be outside. There is a tiny garden center located in the back where patients and family can sit outside and visit. However, if there are more than eight people out there you feel as if you are on top of each other. The staff is friendly and nice, they always inform my family when my grandmother is having problems, but they have called us a couple times and nothing has been wrong. I appreciate the concern they have for the patients and the communication they keep with the family. The room she was orignally in very nice, with its own sitting room and enough space to be comfotable. Now they have moved her into a room that she shares with another person. There is no room to visit and you must stand in order to spend time with her. It seems like she is well cared for but the space could be bigger. They do provide some arts and crafts but the room is very small compared to how many patients they provide for. In order to get outside you must go through the arts and crafts room which again makes it a little tight with a wheelchair and several people. "

"My mother-in-law is going to Primrose Retirement Community of Pueblo. She's been there before, and we love it. It's excellent. The administration and the people there were awesome. It's some place my mother-in-law absolutely wants to go to, so she's going to be happy there. It's very clean and very well organized. They do a lot of good activities for the elderly. They do day trips and take care of her doctor's appointments. It's overall a 10+. She was there three years ago, and she was pretty functional then. The food was great. Everything about Primrose was awesome. We already put a deposit down, and they will keep our deposit until she goes in there (whether it's 30 days or 60 days)."

"My grandma is in Life Care Center of Pueblo. They have been very kind, professional, and helpful. The facility is clean. We are just very grateful that we were able to find a place for grandma and grandpa. We were in a time crunch. Most of the nursing homes were not taking Medicaid pending at the time and my grandparents had no money but Life Care Center took them with Medicaid pending. My grandparents were able to share a room and it was a good-sized room that fit them both. Grandpa had to be separated from her at one point, but their rooms were clean. They have a beautician that comes in a couple of days a week. We like it. They have an exercise class, bingo, and different things. My grandparents didn't take advantage of everything, but my grandma participated in the exercise and bingo. She's not typically a person who does those kinds of things, so it's been nice to know that she's meeting people and doing those activities. My grandma seems to be happy with the food and she's pretty picky. Nursing homes are very expensive regardless, but for what they're getting, it's pretty reasonable."

"My mother moved into The Oasis Assisted Living Home. I think they're excellent, they're wonderful, and I'm so proud we put her there. I highly recommend them. The staff is wonderful, very caring, warm, and they're very communicative. They had a Christmas party and it was a lot of fun. They did a Valentine's day, too. They're very festive."

"We were treated very well at Columbine Chateau. They were open with us about our questions and very realistic about what was possible for my mom's care and how they would deal with her needs. They offered us a meal, but we declined. They were very accommodating to both my husband and myself. It was a very nice facility. The staff seemed very competent and very good. They have a good staff to resident ratio. Everyone we talked to was very cheery. It was nice looking on the inside. The rooms were very appealing to us."

"My mother is in Tammy & Marty's Cozy Adult Care Home. She's only been there a couple of weeks, but so far it's been good. The staff is good. They have puzzles, coloring books, and decorating pumpkins. Right now, she's the only one in the room but when they have someone else come in, she'll have a roommate. She's comfortable. We're trying to get her medication adjusted. She's a little bit sleepier than usual, and we're working on that. I like that they have a doctor that comes in every week. They have a deck in the back part of the house and the fence is all rocks, but they have a nice porch. The deck is awesome, it has a great view, and they always stay out there with them if anybody's out there unless the visitors stay with them. I picked this over everybody else that I've seen. It's not that the others weren't nice, but because of the affordability and the home environment. It's not like a nursing home, so it's much more personal, and she doesn't realize that she's not at home because it is like a home. It's not like a hospital setting. The food is OK, and she is eating well. The other day, they had roast, vegetables, and a crackpot, and they accommodate if you have a special diet."

"I went to look at Florence Care Home. What I liked the most about it was that there were a small number of residents. They have ten people. The thing I liked least about it was that the atmosphere was unpleasant, and the residents seemed unhappy. The staff members were very nice. They need to improve their ambiance. It seemed really depressing. The decorating was just awful. I actually cried while I was in there. Their menu was horrible. They got a choice of cereal, muffins, a bagel, and eggs if they asked for them. The facility seemed old and depressing, but it was clean. It had old furniture in it. It was just dark and dingy."

"My wife moved into Forgetmenot Care Home a couple of weeks ago. It's more in line with what she needs and what I need. They have various card games and entertainment brought in periodically. They have a television available and a guy who plays the banjo and sings for them some of the songs from the '50s. They have three meals a day. It's a live-in situation."
