"It's has been a terrible experience living here the past five months. I would tell you don't move in here. Management is very poor. Under staffed, room are very hot no way to control the heat and air conditioning in the rooms. A number of people here that need a higher level of care. There's a lot of problems with residents not getting medications properly. Problems with the hot water not enough to take a shower."

"I was rescued by this place! The best part about being a resident there was the sincerity of Alex the Facility Director. My life would have been a mess without a place like this. The worst part about this place was the food hands down. I don't know of a place that has "great" food however as individual tastes differ, but this was the epitome of the worst. My expectations were not for the people who were there, but the people were the best of the experience. My heart just hurts since leaving my friends. My experience with any place like this is what you make of it. Likewise if you're going to make a list of things that bum you out then it's not what this place will make of you but what you make of it. Absolutely no regrets. "

"This facility is located on small grounds with not much room for the patients to be outside. There is a tiny garden center located in the back where patients and family can sit outside and visit. However, if there are more than eight people out there you feel as if you are on top of each other. The staff is friendly and nice, they always inform my family when my grandmother is having problems, but they have called us a couple times and nothing has been wrong. I appreciate the concern they have for the patients and the communication they keep with the family. The room she was orignally in very nice, with its own sitting room and enough space to be comfotable. Now they have moved her into a room that she shares with another person. There is no room to visit and you must stand in order to spend time with her. It seems like she is well cared for but the space could be bigger. They do provide some arts and crafts but the room is very small compared to how many patients they provide for. In order to get outside you must go through the arts and crafts room which again makes it a little tight with a wheelchair and several people. "

"We have moved into Primrose Retirement Community of Pueblo. Everybody's very friendly and very helpful. We like it and don't have complaints. We're waiting for our villa. The food is good. They have two main choices for lunch, and you can always get a grilled cheese, grilled ham and cheese, hamburger, cheeseburger, or a chef's salad if you want. They have a lot of Christmas crafting going on right now. They have an ice cream social every Wednesday and a happy hour on Friday that's all free. This Saturday, they're having a gathering where you can have your family come, and they're going to have entertainment. They had a special Christmas and Thanksgiving dinner. Residents are invited to a dinner on the 21st. They have exercise programs, games, and puzzles all over the place to do. The staff members are all very friendly and remember your name. I never really had any complaints about their food. It's good. The facility is nice, cozy, and clean."

"My grandma is in Life Care Center of Pueblo. They have been very kind, professional, and helpful. The facility is clean. We are just very grateful that we were able to find a place for grandma and grandpa. We were in a time crunch. Most of the nursing homes were not taking Medicaid pending at the time and my grandparents had no money but Life Care Center took them with Medicaid pending. My grandparents were able to share a room and it was a good-sized room that fit them both. Grandpa had to be separated from her at one point, but their rooms were clean. They have a beautician that comes in a couple of days a week. We like it. They have an exercise class, bingo, and different things. My grandparents didn't take advantage of everything, but my grandma participated in the exercise and bingo. She's not typically a person who does those kinds of things, so it's been nice to know that she's meeting people and doing those activities. My grandma seems to be happy with the food and she's pretty picky. Nursing homes are very expensive regardless, but for what they're getting, it's pretty reasonable."

"Oasis is an end of life facility. At the end of my mother's life, they made it possible for me to be with my mom 24/7. The staff was efficient and kind and caring. The facility is spotlessly clean. The meals are all made from scratch and very good. Oasis is very home like, a great set up for assisted living. My mom passed away almost 2 years ago and the staff still keeps in touch with me to see how I am doing. Great place, great people. "

"Columbine Chateau was a home environment and I liked it a lot. They have both assisted living and memory care, and it's all combined. It depends on the level of care they need to provide and that's how they base their price. I liked the homey environment. It's a very small community, so it's more personal. I liked that part. It doesn't feel like you're in a nursing home. It was clean. The rooms were fine. You could have a roommate and they provide the beds if you need it and dressers and stuff like that. Everything was all-inclusive there. They had a living room and a backyard area with a garden that you could visit outside. They offer transportation. It was well maintained."

"Very homelike atmosphere. Staff are well-trained, friendly and compassionate. Extremely clean. Staff goes out of their way to accommodate special requests and on-site celebrations. Would recommend to anyone looking for an alternative to a nursing home. My only concern is while the meals are all prepared in their kitchens, there is too much reliance on processed and frozen foods and not enough scratch cooking or fresh fruit and veggies; and there are extremely limited activities for residents. "I went to look at Florence Care Home. What I liked the most about it was that there were a small number of residents. They have ten people. The thing I liked least about it was that the atmosphere was unpleasant, and the residents seemed unhappy. The staff members were very nice. They need to improve their ambiance. It seemed really depressing. The decorating was just awful. I actually cried while I was in there. Their menu was horrible. They got a choice of cereal, muffins, a bagel, and eggs if they asked for them. The facility seemed old and depressing, but it was clean. It had old furniture in it. It was just dark and dingy."

"My wife moved into Forgetmenot Care Home a couple of weeks ago. It's more in line with what she needs and what I need. They have various card games and entertainment brought in periodically. They have a television available and a guy who plays the banjo and sings for them some of the songs from the '50s. They have three meals a day. It's a live-in situation."
