I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My family member loves being at Sharmar. She says they take good care of her. The staff is always helpful. She just loves the activity staff Stephanie, Ashely and Mark. She says they always have many fun things for them to do. The Activity staff is always so helpful and wonderful to all the residents and families. The building is always clean and smells great. It is such a great place to put your loved one.

I visited this facility

I knew other people that had lived in Chateau at Sharmar, and I just checked it out to see if it was what we wanted. I had seen the rooms, and I talked to them about the prices. The staff was very friendly and very accommodating. It was very quiet and had more of a rest home atmosphere.

I visited this facility

Staff is friendly but not aware of policies as they should be. Also they do not ever attempt to find out the policy or answer a question if they don't know. During initial visits the residents room was cleaned regularly. Bathroom needed to be cleaned more often and trash bags removed and replaced not just emptied.

I am/was a resident of this facility

We are at Chateau at Sharma right now and this place is wonderful. The food is very good. We basically don’t have activities because were over 90 years old. The staff are friendly and we are happy here.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My mom stayed at Sharmar Village for 24 days getting physical therapy. She had fallen and broken her pelvis. She has recuperated well enough and she's back home. We're real happy with the place and we're probably moving her back whenever the time comes that she has to go. It has a nursing home as well as assisted living facility. It's in a beautiful part of town, nice and quiet neighborhood. The staff was very attentive and they took personal interest in my mom and dad. They had a doctor on staff. They did a decent job and I was pleased.

We choose Chateau at Sharmar because the care is much better. The staff is excellent. They really go out of their way and they have nursing staff right on the floor where my mom is on. They have different sizes of room and my mom's room is nice.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

This facility is for residents that have alzheimers. The staff, overall, seemed caring, kind, and attentive to the residents. The room that my grandmother was in was very small, and very basic. In the room there was a couch, a bed, bedside table, kitchenette, and a restroom. It is an open floor plan, and the one thing that was lacking was a small kitchen table. There is a microwave and refridgerator but no where to eat what she cooked. The staff holds special events for the residents on a daily basis and meals are served in a cafeteria setting that they have "fancied" up a bit. Cushioned chairs, linens, etc. but the food could have used a little TLC as well. The one thing that I really did like about it was that there was a very secured entrance. Visitors either are given the code for the door or they can be buzzed in by staff. With Alzheimers patients, and especially my grandma, they tend to wander away and that can be very scary and very dangerous. I think that this facility is above standards on other places that I have seen. I know that my grandma was very confused, and the family was very devastated, but she seemed as content as I think was possible.
