My dad was at BeeHive Homes of ABQ San Pedro Village D last year. I didn't like the turnover of the people who worked there. My dad would get used to one person and then somebody else would come in. I don't know if they would just find somewhere else that paid more, but that was kind of hard because sometimes there wasn't good communication between them. He's had a really bad eczema his whole life, and sometimes they didn't communicate that to the new ones that came in. When my brother and I would go visit him, he'd have the rash all over because someone had washed his clothes. They had to be rinsed twice, we explained. That was really the only thing. It got better, though, and the people who were taking care of him were just awesome. They took a burden off of me. It was just nice to go in there and see how good they were treating him and how nice they were. If there's a Beehive near me, I would want to live in one. Sometimes when I went to visit my dad, it was time for lunch, and they would make me lunch, too. The food was OK. The building was new. I don't know how long it had been there, but it was very, very clean and up to date. It was a very nice place, and they did a lot with him. My dad is kind of a quiet man, but they organized things to do for the residents so they don't get so bored. One of his nurses would come and get him, and he would always have fun. They did this little bowling thing and this little basketball thing. They did a lot of fun things. If it's something that he absolutely didn't want to do, then they wouldn't force him, but the nurse would usually say, "Come on, just try it!", and I really liked that.
