My husband has been in Hartwyck at Oak Tree for five years now. They have a very thorough staff on board, and they make sure they take care of his needs. They are very efficient with everything there, and they make sure they include him for activities, not only on the floor he's on, but also the floor above him. The facility has three floors, and it's usually two people per room. One floor shares the PT center and rooms. As you go up it's just the rooms, and there's a recreation room on each of those floors. They have a cafeteria and an outside area, too. There was a COVID case there, and they're still reenforcing. They usually would only allow one person at a time into the room itself, and then the others would have to wait outside or downstairs.

I wouldn't send a loved one to this facilty after seeing the care my husband experienced. He sat not once but twice in his own fecal matter for two hours before someone changed him. Being a tracheostomy patient they claimed to know what they were doing but he ended back in the ER of JFK do to the lack of knowledge of the staff and they would not admit negilgence.

I lived at Hartwyck for one year after a severe TBI in 2001-02. The staff was excellent and were responsible for my unbelievable recovery. I was provided every opportunity to make improvement in every area a daily living. I was part of the transitional living program at the hospital. All therapies were provided to insure success. I have retired and moved to a warmer climate and now walk with a cane outside, but no cane inside the house. I drive a car and can care for myself. THANK YOU ALL!

Hartwyck at Oak Tree is a top of the line nursing home for the elderly. With good and healthy food and their daily games, I can say that this nursing home is a good social place for the elderly. Even the faculty there are helpful, with almost one person per elderly. There was living space for over a hundred elderly citizens. With a convenient living place, Hartwyck at Oak Tree also has private quarters which can accommodate up to 2 people per room. The down side was that the nursing home did not have a large out doors are where the elderly could enjoy some fresh air. Also, this nursing home is located off a very major road and this does not help those who seek solitude. All in all, this nursing home will be a good place for those elderly citizens who might have family or guests over almost every week.
