I have worked in Assisted livings and memory cares in the past. They don't even come close to Ridgeland place. My fiancé and I were very hesitant about putting him mom into a home. We took a tour and met with the staff. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. They all made us and his mom feel welcome. We live 1000 miles away and it was hard for us to leave her. The staff has been wonderful with communicating with us, sending is pictures and frequent updates. We can be at peace knowing she is receiving the best care. We visit often and his mom is happy and healthy. She had even put on some weight. His mom has told us many times that she loves being there. We are very happy with the staff and the services there. The building is beautiful and clean. But, it's not the building that makes the place, it's the staff makes the place.

Ridgeland Place was very nice. I like the amenities and the services they provide. They have what they call an alcove apartment. It doesn't have a kitchen or anything like that. It has a bedroom and a sitting area divided from the bedroom. They have courtyards and some other areas.

I did a tour of Ridgeland Place. I liked the coordinator that I talked to. I liked the rooms, the facility, the gardens, and the outdoors. It was very nice; I felt at home there and comfortable, and that he would be taken care of. The memory care had outdoor gardens and patios. They had activities for them to do inside and outside. The staff was very informative, I spent an hour with her before we went back there; she has a very informative personality. She was telling me that they had a big screen TV, and they would get them different programs. They had a coordinator, and they just didn't sit around. They actually got up and had activities to do to stimulate their minds.

I visited Ridgeland Place, and I liked that it has been updated. I also liked the way the place was set up as a whole, and the friendliness of the staff. They have a beauty salon there, and the actual layout of the dining room was nice.

Brookdale Ridgeland seems like a good place, and everybody there seems to like everybody. The studio rooms are small but nice. I ate there once, and the food was good. They have a lot of activities for the residents and seem to be doing a good job with that.

Brookdale Ridgeland was unable to get my dad to take his medication. Initially, the reason we chose it was because it is a mile from my mother's house, but they didn't call and say, "Give your husband his medication." They just let my dad not take his medications for five days, so he was delusional. Brookdale Ridgeland was not as nice as other communities, and the people didn't seem to care that much. They need to hire better people. They have fewer people but it's smaller. During the day, the residents were placed in a room with a TV and staff watched them. Every time we went there, my dad was in his room. They never made an effort to get him out of his room and just let him sit there. They provided three meals a day. The community seemed clean, and the rooms looked nice. My father's room had two rooms, a living area and the bedroom.

Brookdale Ridgeland was really in need of a cleaning and renovations. The chair arms were all dirty; the front door looked like it needed repainting and the brass was all tarnished; a lot of other doors had scuff marks, bumps, and kicks, which a little soap and water could have helped; and they only had one elevator. The place was just not worth my visit, but maybe somebody else would love it. I think they had a scent throughout the lobby that was either covering up the dirtiness of the place. They may have had good people but maybe not enough to keep up the facility's care or maybe the administrators didn’t see what I saw because they’ve been there too long. There are some renovations they’re supposed to get in the next year or two. I think it requires better upkeep. The room wasn’t anything to brag about. It was an odd shape with a low wall separating the kitchen area from the bedroom area. It looked like a studio but with a low wall, which made the place look confined. Some people may have liked that, but my mother's sitters keep her bed looking good and her place is neat all the time, so I don’t know if it needed to have a wall because it made the place confining. Also, there was not enough light; there’s hardly enough light in these places, which I don’t understand because older people have a hard time seeing. The rooms weren’t great.

The staff at Brookdale Ridgeland was very nice to us during our visit to the community. It’s small but very nice. I saw two very nice, unfurnished rooms. I was hoping to get my father in.

I really liked Brookdale Ridgeland. They had a very homey feel to it. Everything about it I really liked, and I liked the lady who was running the place. She seemed to sincerely care about the people who lived there. She showed me a bunch of different things that they did to bring everybody together, and most of the people who stayed there seemed pretty happy.

We chose Brookdale Ridgeland (Formerly Emeritus at Ridgeland Pointe) because of the cost of the facility, the atmosphere, the size of the rooms, and the quality of service. The staff is great. The experience is great. There are different activities, and the staff is caring and pays attention.

I chose Emeritus at Ridgeland Pointe because it's closer to a relative, and it is close to my doctors. There are good carers, and there are also those who are not committed or kind. Their rooms are fine. Their activities are more limited. The activities director is very young and inexperienced, and they are absent a lot, so that is one of their weaknesses, but the food is well prepared and edible.

The Emeritus at Ridgeland Pointe was very nice and they are like family there. The rooms that I saw were okay. I did not have lunch there, but they wanted me to come back and have lunch. The dining area was a large open space with tables and all. Just having that one visit, I'd have to say I had a very good impression of this place. It was just like a big happy family, so I think that was what stood out for this facility.

The staff at Emeritus Ridgeland Pointe was outstanding. They were very nice and accommodating. I chose them because they were more focused on what I really wanted and needed for my parents. They followed up like they said they would. They were very professional, and they seem to be very flexible in working with my budget. We got a really nice 2-bedroom overlooking a courtyard. I was very impressed with the transportation they have for my parents, taking them to the Walmart or to doctor's appointments. They serve three meals a day, they have housekeeping and, once a week, laundry. I like the activities, and they have one activity that my dad really likes. He calls it the Romeo Club, where real old men eat out. So they take them out once a month to go to a little café or restaurant. It could be a plus if they could maybe have a newsletter or send an email out to the family. A lot of times for me to find out what's really going on day-to-day, I have to go to billing or call them. Sometimes it can be challenging due to my work schedule. So it would be nice if I had an email or newsletter that kind of pops up and gives me some information.

My mother was at Emeritus at Ridgeland Pointe. I like the looks of it. It was also in my mother's price range. The environment was good. The facilities were fine. All the staff that I met was very nice and friendly. However, when my mother's health deteriorated and she needed more care, they didn't have the staff to take care of her needs. They had plenty of activities. Unfortunately, Mother wouldn't be able to take part in them. As to food, sometimes it was good and sometimes not so good. I had many complaints from my mother regarding food.

My mother and father in law were residents of this facility for 4 months and our experience was horrible. The floors are sticky and the hallway smells like a urinal. While some of the employees do seem to try, there is not nearly enough staff on hand to meet the needs of the residents. We would ask for something to be taken care of and 9 times out of 10 it was not done. So many things disappered from their apartment. The times that we were there during a meal, the food looked and smelled completely unappetizing. I wish somebody had told us about how bad this facility was before we wasted $5000 of non refundable deposit money to move them in only to be searching 4 months later for somewhere else to go. If able, I would not even have given this one star.

My aunt has lived at Ridgeland Pointe for around a year and she is very happy. She always says how she never wanted to live at one but Ridgeland Pointe gives her a chance to feel like she is at home and be free.
