"My mother was in St. Catherine's Village for several years before she died. It was top notch. They had independent living. They had houses, cottages, assisted living, nursing home, and Alzheimer's residents. It was more expensive than the other one I visited. My mom was there at the assisted living and then the nursing home. The food was good. The rooms were large. They had some rooms that were double occupancy, but my mom and I didn't like them. We started there, but then she had a single. They had a little kitchenette in the assisted living. I will recommend them to friends and family. The grounds were well kept, and it was also out in the country. "

"The Blake was closer to where we live and more convenient for us. It is a newer facility that is very nice, and we’ve been very pleased with it. The staff has been very helpful, and they serve three meals a day. I do not have any problems whatsoever. "

"My aunt moved to Cooperwood Senior Living, and we like everything about it and the location. She has her little apartment. I like the service that they give to her. They help her bathe, help with medicine, and do all her house cleaning. It includes three meals a day. They have a snack bar where, anytime during the day, if they want a snack, they can go there and get it, and it has no charge. They've got a little craft area. They've got some P.T. room for that if anybody needs it, and they've got a little movie theater. It's beautiful. They've got water to look out at, and my aunt enjoys it when she sees ducks out there. The staff has been great. When we have questions, they have an answer for us, so we've been very happy with it so far. I've seen the food, and my aunt is a very picky eater and has been very happy with their food. My aunt would rather watch TV than go out and experience the activities, but they have a lot. They got their mailbox. They have a little mail room where they can get their mail."

"Heritage House was particularly nice. The staff is very friendly and very professional. They were the ones who would use my mother's insurance and told me what I needed. I needed an advocate, and I need a doctor that will identify her needs and see if they are in compliance with her long term care. They are termed as an assisted living, but they do have nursing care, and that is what I particularly wanted. I needed a place that has 24 hour nursing on staff. They also have a physician on staff, but not 24 hours. They have a full service, and it is a very nice place. They are pricier than most places, but I think that what they offer justifies it. They had very good food. They invited us for a lunch, and it was incredibly good. They have a tiered program so that you can get help for your parents as needed. In other words, they determine level 1, level 2, or level 3. I appreciated their basic care that they gave, which would be monitoring medications, making sure they are at meals, and checking on their whereabouts. Other things such as bathing and things that might that have a progressive need can be purchased as needed, and I like that idea. "

"The very first time I went to this facility to visit my grandmother, I thought it was a fairly good place to be, given the fact that it was a retirement home. Little did I know that the elderly aren't too keen on being in such places. The staff was always around, but didn't seem to be around. Perhaps they were giving all visitors time with their loved one. My grandmother didn't seem to enjoy being there, despite the various activities they held on daily basis. The food menu was exemplary. I would say that besides the hospital like smell that permeated throughout the facility, it was a pretty decent place. My grandmother did after a year however, decide to leave the facility and return home. Home being Hawaii. "

"My wife is only half a mile away from me in a facility called the Peach Tree Village. It has been completely renovated including special expenses that they went through to make sure that it would never flood again. The place is absolutely beautiful. I have been there several times just since the 1st of February. I've had lunch and supper with my wife there. The place is beautiful. It's well-staffed with very professional people and people that have years and years of experience. The current owners insist on not having anything but highly qualified experienced people, and that's very impressive for me. In terms of activities, my wife is playing bingo as we speak. When I went there on Saturday, I had to wait to see her because when I got there, she was in the activity center painting. They keep them very busy. They have a junior studio, and they have a deluxe studio. My wife is in the deluxe, which is a little bit larger. It's a very comfortable and very nice room. It has a very nice bathroom and shower facilities. The closet is a little bit small. They could have made the closets a little bit bigger, but that's okay. Other than that, the room is very good. We provided the furniture. The room is very close to the front entrance area. The food is excellent. At lunchtime, they have two selections, and you can choose which one you want. When I was there last Saturday, I had a shrimp po'boy sandwich, and the shrimp was excellent. They were prepared perfectly. The food could stand just a little bit of improvement, but they have a chef there. With regards to the value of money, compared to the other place, it's excellent."

"My sister is in Plain View Assisted Living. She is not your typical assisted living person in that her mind is pretty sound. They believe she's going to tell me things instead of them calling me. I would like to have more direct communication with them. The facility is nice. It's well laid out. It's a single floor, so that's nice. They have a living room where they do activities. They have an activity director, and do a couple of things, Monday through Friday. They also have people who come from offsite to do activities. It's very good food. They have a cook there. One of the things they struggled with sometimes was keeping a cook. It's one of the most affordable facilities around. They have a lot of turnover, but I believe it's because the ones that are moving on are not meeting the expectations of the management, so to speak. I've been pleased with it. My mother was there before she passed."

"Riggs Manor had independent living, assisted living, and nursing home. It was quite beautiful. It was around in the country. It was clean, pretty, and really nice. We met one of the staff. She's accommodating and nice. The dining area was kind of like a restaurant, and one of the restaurants in town was the one who does the food. The rooms were spacious enough. The ground was like rolling hills out in the country. They have activities like playing cards and different games for the group. I would recommend it to others. "
