Jackson, the capital of Mississippi, features a diverse array of eateries as well as numerous historic sites. Another unique aspect of the city is its ubiquitous public art. Residents can enjoy the outdoors at various sites, such The Art Garden and the Mynelle Gardens Arboretum and Botanical Center. The city’s positive aspects have helped lead 160,628 people to the area, and 12.4% of those residents are seniors aged 65 and older. Jackson’s older adults have access to the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center and Merit Health Central among other medical facilities.

Seniors can also receive care at home from one of Jackson’s home care or home health care providers. Both services have an average monthly cost of $3,432 per month in Jackson according to the Genworth 2020 Cost of Care Survey. That’s well below the national average for each service. Nationally, the median cost for home care is $4,481 per month, and for home health care, it’s $4,576 per month.

At Caring.com, we’ve compiled a comprehensive directory of every home care provider in the Jackson area – complete with types of care provided, services offered and reviews from families who’ve actually used the service. In addition to our in-depth provider listings, we’ve compiled a list of resources to help seniors and their families access all the tools they need to age in place safely and gracefully.
