I found Heritage Village Holt for my aunt. She loves it. They have a game room, TVs, puzzles, and they do crafts. They have a church there where they do services on Thursdays. It's nice that she can buy one meal a day, and then she just does breakfast and lunch herself. Overall, everybody is very nice. They're very friendly. She's very happy there. She talks more, and she gets out of her apartment and sits and talks to people. It's the best thing I ever did for her. The food is like $11 or something for a meal, and you can't do that at a restaurant. The staff is very, very nice. Everytime I go in there the place is nice and clean. She loves the activities, and that's all that matters to me. I know they do a bunch of craft stuff and she likes that. She shoots pool because they have a pool table.

Heritage Village Holt is really nice and very clean. They were friendly. They had a receptionist who sat at the desk when you first go in, so you don't have to wait for somebody to come to help you. I was greeted very nicely. I had a tour. The lady was very knowledgeable about the facility. Unfortunately, when I went there, there were no open rooms. The menu seemed top-notch; they have nice food. It's pretty expensive, and that was my biggest drawback. I saw the menu, but I did not eat anything there or see anybody eating. It's located back in a nice area, like back in the trees, so it's a little more private. The room was nice. It didn't seem quite as large as the one in the other facility. It seemed like it was pretty accommodating. It was more of a home atmosphere and things like that, but it was occupied, so I wasn't able to see it and check it out for myself. It was nice, really clean, really friendly, and accommodating.

Holt Heritage Village is middle of the line. The rooms were small, very plain, there was nothing there that made you impressed. I think they had no meals included there but I'm not sure. There was a library and activities room. It was dark and there was nothing memorable, honestly. I called them twice and left a voicemail on the same day, but they never called me back but a week later they called me to ask if we're still interested. The communication may not have been the best and I don't know if we saw maybe one person in the hallway. The one positive comment is that they have 2 rooms where if one of the residents wanted to have a family gathering, like Christmas or a birthday party, they can have rooms you can reserve, and bring food in for a celebration. There was kind of a dining room with a bookcase and a nice dining table.

Our move in experience with Heritage Village Holt has been great. My mother-in-law refuses to eat their food but she has her own kitchen. We chose this for her because it's one that she could afford and it's one that she could take her dog with her. The place is very nice, updated and it's clean. And it's easy-access for people that have canes, so you don't have to use some kind of device to help them in ambulating. There are elevators. It's very wide open, so it's easily accessible.

I have been in the independent living of Holt Heritage Village since December. The staff people are great. My apartment is fine, and it is adequate; it really meets my needs. It’s got bars around, which really helps me. They have a housekeeper that comes in once a week. I play Euchre, Uno, and Dominoes with the other residents. They have a program of activities available for individuals to partake if they want to. The pricing is fine; it is reasonable.
