I made an appointment to visit The Village at Appledorn thinking of possibly living there. It's clean and airy. It is very small, but they have a kitchen. It was a one-bedroom-one-bath. They assist with cleaning, handyman maintenance, and other things. On each floor, there is a laundry facility that I didn't have to save my quarters for. It was included in the cost. They offer meals as you want. You can pay extra for them. So, if I didn't feel like cooking supper one day, and I had let them know ahead of time, I could go and get supper downstairs in the dining room. They have on-site exercise facilities and activities. The staff member who assisted me was the director, but she wasn't very friendly.

We chose The Village at Appledorn because we have a number of friends who live there and like it very much. They have spacious rooms with washers and dryers inside, and spacious closets and storage spaces. They only serve one meal a day, and you can choose to take it or not. Our friends who live there say that its good service. They have an exercise room, a theater, crafts, trips to the supermarket and special events, and also trips to the church, doctors or dentists.

The Village was very nice; however, they did not have a spot for me. The staff was very pleasant, had activities for seniors, and an excellent program. They had bingo, exercise, and spiritual activities. It was a very lovely place.
