"The rooms at Grand Village are very nice. My relative lives in a beautiful apartment with a separate bedroom, very spacious walk in closet and bathroom. The living room has a slider that looks out to a gorgeous courtyard with roses, hydrangea bushes and patio furniture for people to sit and visit. The staff at Grand Village is one of their greatest assets . Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and willing to go the extra mile to help a resident or their family. The staff address residents by their names which is so much more respectful than using words like sweetie or honey. We have witnessed on many occasions while visiting having staff knock on the door and wait for a response and then come in with food or medicine etc. At those times our relative may engage in small talk with the staff member. We notice how they respond to our relative in a friendly manner. When our relative makes requests the staff typically fulfills the request or provides a time the request will be completed. We looked at several assisted living facilities before moving our relative to Grand Village. We started our relative at Grand Village as a respite spot. During that time we felt this was the right place for our relative and our relative also told us she did not want to leave. We feel our relative is getting the best care and we have no worries ."

"I like Rivertown Ridge. It's newer. It's four years old. The people are very friendly. We went through independent living to their memory care. They were very helpful. People were coming up and introducing themselves. They have a large area for walking, a tennis court, and a lovely outdoor pool. It's just a nice feeling. In terms of cleanliness, it's very clean and very well taken care of."

"Byron Center Manor looked very nice. The people were friendly. They have nice rooms. The dining area was nice and clean too."

"Commonwealth Senior Living at North Byron was nice. The colors were all light and airy, and the rooms were inviting. The staff members were very helpful, informative, friendly, and welcoming. The rooms were a nice size and very comfortable."

"The Cortland Wyoming was very nice. However, the colors of the rooms were pretty dark. Other than that, it was great. They had a lot of extra things for seniors. They were awesome. They were very helpful and very informative. The rooms were a little small. The common area was awesome, though. It was very welcoming and comfortable."

"My mom moved to Commonwealth Senior Living at Grand Rapids. I like that it wasn't too large for her. There are a lot of beautiful facilities in the Grand Rapids area, but this would seem to suit her personality more. It has beautiful views of a pond and some woods, and my mom seems to like the food. On certain days of the week or months, they will have different musicians come in and play. They do crafts and bingo. They do a "Travel Around the World Series" where they bring exotic places to them, so that's fun. They do a lot of different things. They also have a hydroponic garden that grows green leafy vegetables, which they watch grow and then consume."

"My father-in-law will be moving here. It's beautiful; the apartment that he's going into is very clean and spacious. The bathroom facilities are wonderful. The staff was very informative and very friendly. The dining area was very nice. It's still kind of short because of the COVID, as far as being able to eat in the dining room itself, but it's coming back. It looks very nice, and the chef even came out and introduced herself to us. The activities are limited right now because of Covid. They have a spa and a fitness room. They have a beauty shop, a nice library area, and a nice little bistro area along with their dining room. It was very nice and very clean, I was very happy with them."

"American House Spring Lake was nice. It had a two-bedroom-two-bathroom that it could have gotten there, but the view out the window kind of turned me off because it was overlooking the parking lot. I don't want to spend my days looking at a parking lot. The apartment itself was great, but the view was horrible. The person I spoke with was very patient because I don't move fast because I use a walker. She was very patient and very thorough about what was available. I got the chance to see most of the facilities, and they seemed to be nice. Everything looked good. She had put some effort into my visit to the point that she had a little gift bag for me with some stuff in it. I saw the weight room, and they had a laundry service, too."

"The guy at Commonwealth Senior Living at East Paris was phenomenal. He showed me the rooms, he showed me the facilities, and he showed me where they make the dinners. The guy was on top of everything. He gave me all kinds of advice. He spent about an hour and a half talking with me. The room was beautiful. The place was beautiful. It was phenomenal. Everybody was very hospitable. They were very lively, and they were rambunctious. I think they're probably told that, 'Hey, when you see someone walking around, you just express yourself like hey, good morning or hey, good afternoon.' They acknowledged you. That's why that's the place I'm picking for my wife. If she is going to go anywhere, that's where she is going to go."

"Mom just got transferred here. We really like the people there. They're really friendly and bent over backwards to help people, and they seem to work well with people with dementia. She has a nice big room with windows that let a lot of sunshine in. She's happy with her room. It's a private studio. They have activities all the time during the day for the dementia people. They have trips where they go to the store and do stuff in the area. They have a courtyard so you can go outside. They've got it all. It's all fenced in, so you don't have to worry about your parents wandering off. My mom was really happy with the first meal she had there. It's really nice the way it was laid out."

"I toured Harbor Homes Norton Shores. I'm impressed with the staff and people who are in the building. The facility was very good. The rooms were very good. The layout was very nice and easy to move around. They have four separate buildings. Each one of the buildings has its dining room, and they're very clean and very nice. It has a very good atmosphere. It's close to everything, shopping and all that. It's also close to a hospital in case something happens, they don't have far to go."

"Providence nursing home was a decent nursing home. The food was average, the activities seemed redundant and failed to involve many of the residents, and the facilities seemed outdated. In visiting, I found that many of the patients were interacted with very little and were generally neutral on how they felt towards the nursing home. Many expressed displeasure with the rules that they were placed under. Also, the residents on more than one occasion made comments on how little interest they had in the daily activities and how the daily schedule of meals, bathing and occasional exercise was inconvenient and bothersome. The staff however did seem competent and caring, and attempted to address the needs and requests of patients when they were brought to their attention. I did appreciate the efforts to incorporate faith into the everyday life of the patients if they wished to be a part of it, and this actually was one of the positive things that the majority of patients I visited with commented on. Overall, an average nursing home. "

"My cousin will move into Appledorn Assisted Living Center South. When we toured, she was just very happy with the looks of the place and what they had to offer. They told her they had a bridge club, which was very important to her. She likes to play bridge. Some of the other things they pointed out to her sounded very good for her. The apartment was very nice. She liked everything about it, the large window, and she chose to look at the parking lot areas, watching people come and go, rather than looking out at nature. They had a choice of her view. They offered snacks in the evening. They showed her where they have a refrigerator, make-up sandwiches, or other little things she's used to doing at home. She can have a small fridge and microwave in a room for that purpose, also if she likes certain other things. We saw their menu, and everything looked very good. We enjoyed everyone we met. They were very cordial and helpful."
