"Our Mother has been a resident since February 2020. She is very happy and there are many activities to keep her active and engaged. The meal options offered at each setting are varied, well rounded, nutritional and tasty. Employees, from Eric all the way to the part time dining room staff are very friendly and accommodating to our Mother as well as family that comes to visit. We are very grateful that our Mother is residing at StoryPoint Grand Rapids West."

"American House Spring Lake was a wonderful place. My mother liked it a lot, so we're having some discussion over it. We are trying to see what we're gonna do. The designs of the apartments were wonderful. They're spacious, and they looked like home. It's not just one room, so it's really nice. We actually spent some time in the independent area because that was the one that seemed to fit my mother's needs right now, but we were in the assisted living. We saw a couple of different places, and that looked very adequate for anyone that would've needed it. We met a couple staff members, and they were very friendly and very informative. We met one of the chefs, and she was really informative, too. I was really satisfied with this place."

"My uncle has lived at Addington Place for over a year now and has received great care. He originally started in an independent studio, but had a fall and the hospital said he could return, but had to go to Assisted Living. He was hesitant about the move, but had since really grown to love the constant traffic of people his own age. He was sent back with PT and has been working with the RENEW program to continue his PT work, he really enjoys working one on one with the therapist Ashley. He is still able to visit his friends in independent living and they visit him as well. His new room is a studio with a full bathroom and closet, just enough room for him!"

"The Warm Friend (Resthaven) is a former hotel so the rooms are smaller. It’s located downtown, where all the sidewalks are heated so there’s no snow or ice in the winter, and has all the stores and restaurants available to it. It’s a very nice place. The staff is great, and the food is really good. They have the same activities as the other community I’ve visited. The storage space in the rooms are cramped, there are air-conditioning and washers and dryers in the rooms."

"I made an appointment to visit The Village at Appledorn thinking of possibly living there. It's clean and airy. It is very small, but they have a kitchen. It was a one-bedroom-one-bath. They assist with cleaning, handyman maintenance, and other things. On each floor, there is a laundry facility that I didn't have to save my quarters for. It was included in the cost. They offer meals as you want. You can pay extra for them. So, if I didn't feel like cooking supper one day, and I had let them know ahead of time, I could go and get supper downstairs in the dining room. They have on-site exercise facilities and activities. The staff member who assisted me was the director, but she wasn't very friendly."

"We went to Waverly Meadows. It sits on 16th Street, which is a main street here in Holland. I met some people there that I know. I’ve been there for like 14 years. They offered a laundry room, but it costs. It costs a quarter to run the washer and the dryer. They did not serve any meals there. But they seemed to have a pretty close-knit family-type situation there. The people that were managing were so nice too. They also have on-the-grounds units that are one floor. So you would enter the building, and there would be a couple of units you would go to. That’s what my sister really, really liked. But the long hallway kind of bothered both of us. You have to go down to this long hallway, and then you open your door. You are in the hallway and not outside. The cost was affordable for her in that community. It’s an older community. "

"The major difference between Royal Park Place and the others we visited was the contract agreement for staying there. At Royal Park Place, they either lease or you can actually purchase a unit, which is quite unique, but in terms of offerings relative to others, it's pretty much similar. The rooms and the facilities were nice, they had nice grounds, and the dining facility was fine. They didn't have any availability at that time, but it was a very nice place."

"I am a hyperactive 81 year old man. I crave lots of activities. The professional staff offer a ton of heathy and fun activities. For both the mind and body.They work as a team. If one person can’t help you they will find someone who can. I particularly enjoy the morning sit and stretch. And the mind games that follow are a real variety from horse racing to memory challenges."

"We placed Dad in Waterford Place and it's a very nice and brand-new place. We were told that anytime we want to join dad for meals, we're able to do that for a very small cost. Where Dad is at in the assisted living, the dining area is not really big, but it's adequately spaced. They do have another dining area in the independent side that's very large and looks like a restaurant. My dad can also go there with guests and we're also able to have a meal there at a very low cost. Where Dad is at, they have bingo quite often, movie night once a week, and outings. They also have cookouts. Everyone that we've talked to has been more than happy to do anything and everything that they can to make Dad comfortable. They answer all his questions and try to get him as adjusted as possible. For the overall care and their willingness to go above and beyond, I think it's adequately priced."

"It was very good, large, busy, and had a lot of people and so many things going on. If you're looking for a quiet place, you wouldn't go there. The rooms were nice and under reconstruction; they're working on repairing some things in parts of the older facility, like trying to widen the doors and fix the elevators. They're very friendly and we had a good visit there. Pricing was comparable to others in the area."

"My brother moved into The Village at Rosy Mound. They had an opening, so we didn't have to be on the long waitlist, and the price points were good. The facility is very nice. They have great activities. They've got a great new activity director and they're doing all kinds of things and she's adding some stuff. They've got meals available five nights a week, a brunch two mornings a week. The staff has been great, all of them. The residents are very friendly. Nice place. It's only five years old. It's got a lot of closet storage. He's in a two bedroom, two bath. The staff is competent and helpful. They've got a beautiful library with a fireplace and books and jigsaw puzzles going. They had the spring high school jazz band performing here yesterday. A couple talked about an Iditarod dog race experience and brought one of the dogs with them that had run the race the other day when I was here. They have daily euchre and pinochle clubs and knitting and crochet club. They've got a huge arts and crafts room and woodshop for people to work in. They've got a game room with tables and a pool table that you can reserve for family events too. It's nice. They've got an aviary up on the second floor, on the balcony area. The thing is full like an eight-foot glass case with birds and you can listen to the birds and live birds and watch them. They've got an agenda each day. The activities director had just recently contacted our club to see if somebody from our club would come and talk about birds to them. And so we've got three programs that we're doing for the community coming up, and she's looking to do a series of that. So there's just a lot of interesting things. For people who need independent living. I would highly recommend it. There's a hair salon in here too. You can get your hair done here. They also bring in a hearing aid person and a podiatrist that makes regular visits for the residents to make appointments. They've got housekeeping that you can pay extra for."
