We liked Rosewood AFC a lot; it just wasn’t the right place for dad. They had a great big dining table where they all eat together. They had a big living room, people kind of stand around the living room, and I think the coziness would have been better for a female. We liked the place itself. It's beautiful, and the setup and the care of the staff was good. I also know that they do a lot of pampering of their guests. The bedrooms are kind of down the hall and around, it's very easy to get to. They had big, open dining rooms, and kitchen area that was very nice and sunny. The living room wasn't as sunny, but the people were very content when we walked through, smiling, and things like that. The apartment was very nice with lots of sun, and very clean. The ones that had a bathroom were convenient. The shower had heated towels and so on. They're very caring for their people. It's a very lax community where you can sit and have coffee while watching them cook and things, which was nice for the people, for interaction. They also offer three meals a day and snacks.

I would put my mom in Rose Wood of DeWitt because she would be pampered and taken care of better. The nurse who runs it is certified in dementia. My mom has dementia, and we would feel very safe with her there. It’s a very well-run, beautifully decorated home for 12. We saw six or seven places, and it was the only one I was excited about.
