"The caregivers and other staff were amazing! They were so kind and caring and took very good care of our dad. They genuinely care about their residents and communicated very well with me and my sister about my dad's status and needs. It was really a good community of people. IV of Grand Ledge also has a LOT of fun activities for seniors. My dad loved the electronic bowling and the bingo, especially. We are SO grateful to all the cargivers, activity staff, and other staff who helped my dad along his life journey. He was happy at IV and StoryPoint (assisted living) and made a lot of friends. The rooms are nice and the facility is generally clean, though some refurbishing needs to be done because the facility is not new. The people were wonderful, though. That made all the difference in the world. Our father's happiness was teh most important thing to us."

"Bickford of Okemos was clean. They're helpful. The room that they showed us was very nice, and I liked the way it was laid out. The dining area was clean. If my mom would have went there, she would have enjoyed their activities."

"I went to New Haven Foster Care. The rooms were good sized. I liked that it was homey. It felt like you were in a house, although it had lots of bedrooms. They had a common area. Someone could stay in their room and not feel cramped and they could come out to the common area as they wished. The place was neat. The residents were watching TV. There weren't any planned activities going on. The staff person when I was there was pleasant and delightful, answered all my questions and told me things I didn't know I needed to know. The dining area was homey. It had a nice big table for group meals. The facility was well laid out. There were some larger rooms and some smaller rooms, and the price reflected the size of the room. Even the small rooms were pleasant and big enough. I wouldn't mind staying in the small room. I could spend some time in my room and be happy. They have a big backyard. You could have a TV in your room. There's not a salon, but they have people come in to provide those services. They didn't provide transportation for anything. That's the responsibility of the family."

"I volunteered with students here and always had great interaction with the staff. The staff and resident interactions were always appropriate and fabulous. The residents seemed very happy and content, they have a family at Oliver woods. I’ve seen pets there and being so many smiles when the residents got to pet them. The food always looked so delicious, the kitchen crew does a great job. Every employee there was always generously kind, and helpful. I would recommend Oliver woods to my family and friends no questions asked. The rooms looked great and comfortable, there was always so many activities going on everyday that the residents seemed to throughly enjoy. "

"My sister has moved into Vibrant Life, The Lodge of Durand. It was by far the best, as far as staff, pricing, and what they had to offer. The other ones were much higher in price, didn't seem to have the room size, and weren't as up-to-date as Vibrant was. I have no complaints with the staff or the food. The food is fine. The activities appear to have helped her; they're excellent."

"My wife is at The Woodlands of DeWitt. The facility itself is very new, modern, clean, and nice. It doesn't smell and it's run very well. There's a good staff and it's managed well. They're attentive to the residents. They take care of their needs. They're compassionate and they do their jobs pretty well. The food is OK. She is a vegan so she has a special diet and they've gone the extra mile to make sure she gets a vegan diet with no meat and most of it is pretty good. They play bingo and card games, they have movies, and they have swimming available, although she doesn't participate in that. They have quite a few activities all day, every day except weekends. Every weekday from probably 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., they have activities every hour to an hour and a half. It's very expensive, but compared to others, it's not that much different. It's less expensive than some and more expensive than some. Her apartment has almost three rooms. It's got a living room, a bedroom, and then sort of an entryway room that's pretty good sized, and then it has a huge bathroom. All the bathrooms are handicapped accessible because a number of their people require physical help and are in wheelchairs and stuff like that. The rooms, the building, and the property are very attractive, very nice, and well-maintained inside and out."

"I would put my mom in Rose Wood of DeWitt because she would be pampered and taken care of better. The nurse who runs it is certified in dementia. My mom has dementia, and we would feel very safe with her there. It’s a very well-run, beautifully decorated home for 12. We saw six or seven places, and it was the only one I was excited about."

"My wife moved to Addington Place in October 2020. She has been suffering from vascular dementia (1st diagnosed about 5 year ago at MSU). Since she's lived there, she has had excellent, compassionate care by all of the staff. They have adapted very well as her memory and physical issues have increased. An ongoing issue for the facility has been the lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Even so, the staff has put forth the effort for us to help celebrate special occasions. I would recommend Addington Place to any of my friends."

"My girlfriend's mom was there a couple of years ago. I cannot say more about the staff. Those folks treat your parents as one of their own. They love and treat them with the utmost respect. When we had to move my dad to a facility in February, there was no question as to where we were going. Super clean, family owned and is VERY competitive with prices."

"They had memory care, and we knew that my mother-in-law needed memory care. The Willows had a lot more things that residents could do while living and just staying in the place. It had a garden that you could walk out on and do, and they had little stations of different things that people could work at or go to -- just a lot more activities that she could venture out of her room and do. It wasn't a large place, but it was really nice. They had street names for the hallways, and it was just very friendly. "

"Kalkidan AFC 3 is fantastic and my mother's room is wonderful. The care has been very good; she's having her needs met. I'm there on a regular basis, it's always been clean, there's no unpleasant odor, and the patients are clean. I can't say enough good things about it. Because of the efforts of the woman that owns the place, Mother has put on weight. There are only six residents, and they conscientiously take care of all aspects required by their patients."
