Mom had been in 2 other assisted living and progressed to needing a lot more assistance. Caretel could fill her need. At 101 she came in during Covid and never got it. That says a lot as to the prevention in place. The facility is very nicely decorated. The staff were pleasant and she had a few that would become friends to her. Everything was supplied for her. No furniture was needed either. The cost was within her budget which was a big help. She was a proud Marine from WWII and they displayed her photo in the Honoring wall. She passed away on July 4th this year. Her end of life hospice care came in and were amazing. We were kept well informed about every step.

Very clean facility for the month I was there. Always acknowledge my bell/ light when I needed help. Physical Therapy(Carol) and (Rasshi?) were excellent in my rehab program. I loved the room I was in so cherry and I enjoyed the sunshine. The food was a hell of a lot better than ascension hospital. The general manager came when I arrived and just before I was released- very very nice gesture. I would go back there again if I needed the assistance again no hesitations on that decision. Thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for your loving care. Joseph Sullivan

My father is at Caretel Inns of Brighton. I chose that one because he was in rehab at Caretel Inns and they had an opening, so it was an easy transition that we moved him right down the hallway from rehab to the assisted living. We have been very, very pleased with them so far. Their staff is excellent and very attentive. They can answer any question you have. They've been great. He doesn't complain about the food. He says it's very good. The facility is very clean. A lot of it has been updated. Everything is great. Parking is very easy. They have different activities every day: bingo, concerts, they bring people in to play pianos, they have movies, and they have games. They have something scheduled for the residents every single day. I know he enjoys the activities, and I know sometimes, if my mom is there, she goes with him, and she said they're all great. It's one of the least expensive places.

My dad needed more assistance with his care. He was in a wheelchair and lived in a tri-level home. He was moved to Caretel in Brighton. He was always up and clean, dressed nicely when we visited. He was a fussy eater in the past but he ate well at Caretel. The staff from the front desk to the care givers were always friendly and kind.

My friend was discharged from U of M hospital in a medically fragile state to your facility. They did not check to see if it was appropriate setting. Not only did you not have special diets but you have no meds for this woman who has stage 4 kidney disease, diabetes, congestive heart faiture, and excess stomach acid, along with angina for which she needs nitroglycerin. She was offered something to eat that was completely dangerous to her condition. The facility didn’t even know she was coming until we got there. They were taking in new patients while they had active covid in several residents. Much of this is the fault oh the hospital she was discharged from but your facility should have recognized that they were unprepared to take a patient with her needs. When we asked if they could make special meals for diabetics and renal diets, they said that they could. I talked with the nurse and asked her if someone could give her a simple meal of an egg, hard cheese, small amount of fruit and a sugerfree beverage, she said that she could make that happen, but, as of this hour(9:51 pm) she has not eaten. This is very dangerous for a diabetic on meds, risking hypoglycemia. Don’t bring your loved ones there if they have any medical problems or special needs.

My mother is now in Caretel Inns Brighton. The physical appearance of the place is wonderful. It's very homey, it's very welcoming and it's decorated very, very well. They have a little area set up that's called Abbey Lane, which is almost like a little village street. It's cobblestone and there are little shops and beauty shops there, and there's a theater. They're not real stores, but they are all decorated with windows displays of like a bakery and a jewelry store and they have a little bistro. It's very, very cute. The rooms are very nice. So I'm happy with the place. The staff was very nice. The one that gave us the tour was very informative, and she answered any questions we had. The move-in process was very smooth and so far as the level of care, I'm very happy with the people that work with her. They are very friendly, very nice, they check on her every two hours and they're taking very good care of her. If I had any complaints, it would probably be the food. I haven't tried the food, but she's not crazy about it. I was there when they were serving the food, it's pretty basic and is just not the greatest meal. Bingo was fun, they have concerts once a week where somebody comes in and plays music. That was very entertaining for everybody. I've been to a Zumba class and a stretching class that she participated in, and she enjoyed that. They have quite a few activities and they have conversation groups where they get the residents together and they sit around and talk. I also looked in on a craft class she had where they made bracelets.

My Dear friend is in this place and I Seriously wished she wasn't. Staff is not good. Friend has stage 4 cancer and she gets terrible treatment. No she has COVID19 and she is Not getting the care she needs. She has been patiently waiting for the Monoclonal Antibodies therapy for about 6 days now and still hasn't received it yet. They lie everyday and tell her it will be there. If she gets worse and she doesn't survive I will try to hold them accountable. I would definitely Not recommend this place for your parents. I am Not happy with them at all.

My sister was at Caretel Inns of Brighton for rehab. It was after surgery. She was there for two weeks. She went to physical therapy every day, and they helped her get back on her feet. I visited the place while she was there. She seemed to be happy there, and she seemed to be pleased with the care she got. It was clean, and it seemed fine. I know that they have permanent senior citizen apartments on the lower level. My sister said she had been down there, and she said they were very pretty and very lovely. They're quite expensive, but they are very nice. The staff was very pleasant and very helpful. The first time I went there, I had a hard time finding my way around because it's kind of a big circle; it is kind of complicated. Other than that, they helped me. It's fine. It's clean, and it's nicely decorated. It's all on one floor, and it's nice. My sister said food was OK. It wasn't bad, but she would rather be home. She complained a lot that she wants to go home and do her own cooking in her own home, which is all normal.

My mom has been living in the Caretel Inns of Brighton. She's in the assisted living but they care for her like a nursing home. They chop up her food and give her baths. I was surprised how caring they are. They have been awesome. She wet herself at night and they would change her bed and wash her up. The facility is clean, well maintained, and has a nice and happy environment. I've never seen it dirty. Whenever she is eating, they always offer that we could eat with her, and I'm amazed by their options. She gets breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and they have a good menu. They play bingo, make jewelry, ice cream socials, and every day about three people work in an activity. As a matter of fact, I only get to call her after 7:00 p.m. because she's always busy doing something. I tried other facilities and compared to their care and cost, this place is very economical and priced well, but the staff are really the ones that make the place.

We're choosing Caretel Inns of Brighton because my mom seemed to like it the best for my dad. There are not a lot of employees, they're not very personable, and it's hard to get anybody to answer any questions. Nobody knows anything. You have to talk to somebody else, and if you don't ask the question ten times, you don't get an answer. You have to ask for the twelfth, thirteenth, and fourteenth time. The food is not good, and my dad doesn't eat it. In terms of activities, they've tried to do a couple of small things with him, but it's very minimal. There are parts of it that were recently redone that are nice. They said they redid the memory care part, but I don't know where they got that from. It had not been redone; it is older than the hills.

Aides never come when called. Patient is left in wheelchair for entire day. Called twice in one day to talk to a nurse due to relatives sudden and severe confusion after talking to them on phone and no one called back. Called again in evening and phone just rings and rings. I would NOT recommend sending a loved one her unless they are able to take care of themselves.

If a zero was allowed it would be needed! If your loved one is independent and doesn't require assistance going to the bathroom, require immediate assistance transitioning from bed to chair or chair to bed, or emergency care that might involve an ambulance, than this place is for you! However, if your loved one requires assistance getting to the bathroom, help while in there and/or help getting out, I hope they have a very, very large bladder. They will be waiting an hour or more for someone to come in and help....only to be told they should have hit their call button sooner. While sitting outside of my mother's window, every day for over a month for morning visits, nearly every day I had to call the front desk to get someone to her room for assistance because an hour or more had passed with no one coming in. If your loved one needs help getting from a wheelchair back in to bed so they can get feeling back in their legs, they will be waiting hours for that to happen. It was not uncommon for our mother to be left in her wheelchair for 6-7 hours with zero assistance. If your loved one needs to go to the hospital via ambulance, I hope you put a GPS tracker on them. Not once, but twice Caretel could not tell us where our mother was. We had to call ambulance companies to find her. The second time she went to the hospital, we weren't even called. We only found out when we showed up for a visit, the day after she went to the hospital, and we couldn't find her. She was their for nearly 24 hours without a single call. When asked why we weren't informed of her being taken back to the hospital, we were told "Well, your mom IS her own person". They sent her without her glasses that she needs to see anything beyond her nose, no cell phone, but the worst of it all was that she was sent in nothing but a shirt and adult diaper. No pants, no socks, nothing....at 3:00 in the afternoon! Thankfully she didn't go back to Caretel after her last hospital stay, because I would have insisted on her being moved to a facility that actual answers patient calls for help or assistance and keeps the family informed of what's going on. I do NOT recommend Caretel. I don't care that their hold message says they are a 5 star facility.

Both my mom and dad are sharing a room there at Caretel Inns of Brighton. We've been able to visit them, and it's been okay. They're short staffed, and it's been hard to communicate with the people there. Sometimes we don't hear back from them too quickly. They seem to be well taken care of though. From what I see, the facility is good, kept up pretty well, and clean. The workers have been great. They say that they try to engage them in some activities and get them outside. They had a car parade for them.

I found this to be a reasonably good care facility. The Staff were friendly, respectful, and generally responsive to my needs. Of course, this varied somewhat from day to day, but, overall, I thought they did a pretty good job. I was there for about eight weeks recovering from a crushed ankle and subsequent corrective pinning and surgeries. I did think the Nurses were understaffed during night shifts, but they always did the best they could. The Physical Therapy Staff was very competent and thorough. Overall, I would give this Facility a good B-plus. Thank you.

My dad was only at Caretel Inns of Brighton for 7 weeks. It was a nightmare!! We had asked several times for update on my dad (because of covid we were unable to visit). We never received an email or call. They set up video calling which very seldom worked. My dad was a hospic patient which, meant any falls or changes in his condition were to be reported to the hospic. The nurses did not follow these rules. They (in our family’s opinion) felt they were above all the rules. They were rude and very unprofessional the most uncaring people you will meet. We found out by accident that my dad was moved to “active statice “. Administration did not feel the need to tell us. They would have had him die with no family by his side. We were told by several of the aids that they had asked “if the family had been notified “. From what we saw the aids were very caring and compassionate. The nursing staff could take lessons from them. When we were finally able to see our dad he had a large scrape and bruise on his forehead and both of his arms were bandaged . We were shocked when we saw him. While I was being walked back to his room by one of the nurses she said (with a smile on her face) “Now you at least get to see him”. I could not imagine a more incentive thing she could have said. We were able to spend my dads last 2 days with him. After he passed I went to pick up his belongings and found them in GARAGE BAGS on the back loading dock. We did not receive all of his belonging, apparently they decided what we would want. We had 2 calls with administrators still no answers. Apparently they care as much as the Nurse Administrator they have on staff. Please think twice about putting your loved one in this facility. .

The P.T. part is excellent and my mom loved it! They were proficient, kind and caring. The nurses aides, for the most part, are nice but are short-staffed so SLOW to respond to calls. I've been there when my mom pushed the button for assistance for the bathroom and after 20 minutes I had to look for someone, in-part to see where they were and what the delay was. The food has gone down in taste. She was there three times and it's gotten worse, not better. It's satisfactory, except for the overuse of salt and dryness of meat. That being said, she loved the soup, veggies and potatoes.

My father stayed at Caretel Brighton for rehab after his spinal surgery. We were very happy with the care provided by physical, occupational and speech therapy as well as the nursing staff. The few bumps in the road during his stay were quickly and effectively addressed. I was happy with the communication to keep me informed of his progress and treatment plans. He was happy with the accomodations and spoke highly of the staff. We are glad we chose Caretel for his rehab needs.

I would not recommend this facility at all they are always short staffed if your loved one does not get cared for they blame the patient instead of taking responsibility, the staff will not look you in the face and are not friendly as if they are guilty of doing wrong and covering up something, scabies are all over in there and the state denies it, my loved one got scabies twice in there and they are highly contagious 😷 just do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for a much higher rated facility it's a filthy and uncared for place. 🏃 Run !!!!!!'

From HIPAA violations to nursing negligence and incompetence, this is not a place you or your loved one want to be a resident at. Nursing administration rude and unprofessional, unwilling to listen to concerns but rather interrupting to make excuses and cover-up incompetent care. Would not recommend this care facility at all.

Mom first required rehabilitation after a fall and and later needed assisted living She was a diabetic and was unable to manage medication and activities of daily living. Caretel and its staff were attentive to her needs. Management was open and responsive to questions regarding medical insurance and Medicare questions and also to various housing options at Caretel. Mom resided at Caretel for a year utilizing both the rehab side and the assisted living side. Transfer was seamless and staff very helpful. Mom was well cared for both in assisted living and in rehab as events dictated. The management team was extremely helpful in all the transitions and very open to discussions. Caretel is worth exploring for the care of family.

Our dear Mother was placed in Caretel of Brighton to rebuild after pneumonia. we ageee there are a number of caring staff who truly care but the way this facility is managed and how they handle issues is very poor. An aide twisted our mother's leg and broke it and our mother was placed in bed and family called hours later stating it was a potential blood clot and they called an X-ray service to come do an X-ray. When I arrived it was clear it was a broken leg and the staff stuck to its blood clot theory at first but then each started folding and telling what they heard happened. We had two meetings with a regional leader and on site GM and nurse and they seemed since but we have since learned they allegedly knew all along what happened. If they would have put our mother first, they should have called us and suggested 911 right away. They postponed treatment only to protect themselves. How unfortunate. Because of this lack of leadership and proper protocol, the good staff turns over. Be sure you watch over your loved one if you choose this option.

We picked Caretel Inns Of Brighton because they would let me stay with my husband overnight; he could not be left alone. They were the only place that would let me stay over night. They have activities, physical therapy, occupational, and speech. It’s a subacute facility, so there’s a physician who is on-staff who sees the patients, orders medications, and does lab studies. They have transportation. They provide 3 meals.

My mother was at Caretel Inns of Brighton for rehab. She had PT as well as OT services. They did a very good job taking care of my mom. I like the people there a lot. Their kitchen is a whole lot cleaner than most restaurants. All the servers were very nice and personable.

Caretel Inns of Brighton seems to be very welcoming. It is clean, and the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. We walked through the dining room, and it is clean. The whole place is clean. As for activities, we can't really tell what those are, but they did have a little neat shopping area, and that is the only thing I really remember. I think the place needs to be more open. It is kind of curvy and real narrow, and that is the best explanation I could give. I don't feel confident to recommend it because I just don't know enough about it.

I would recommend Caretel Inns of Brighton. They have good employees. The dining room is very clean and the food is very good. The facility is more of a traditional kind of vintage, Victorian style exterior and interior, which the older generation likes.

I visited the Caretel Inns of Brighton recently to see my friend's Mother who was recently moved there. It's been a rough couple of weeks for their family, but having visited their Mother , I must say, I am a little bit more at ease. Caretel Inns is situated in a great city, near the main drag, which runs through the entire heart of Brighton. I thought the facilities were very tidy and the place looked rather new. I didn't ask how old the building itself was, but I would guess that it has been built within the last decade. It still has that new look to it. My friend's Mother seemed to be in good spirits. She is usually off making merry anyhow, but having to move into another home was tough on her. From the short stay she has had, she doesn't have any complaints other than she feels her living space is too big for her. I suppose this is better than being too small. The staff has taken good care of her and the area is about as safe as you can hope for. I highly recommend the Brighton area and this home.
