"We toured 75 State Street. They had smaller rooms. However, they were very friendly. They have lots of bus trips. We just spent an hour there, but the staff members were very informative. With regards to the community, there are more older people than we wanted. And we were looking for a little bit younger crowd. They had lots to do like painting class, games, trips to the swimming pool, flower arranging, and stuff like that."

"Birchwoods at Canco Assisted Living is nice, clean, and new. I like community rooms and places to gather because I need the interaction with other people my age. There are a couple of churches that provide a lot of activities for the seniors, too. Like the congregational church here has various programs and bible studies. I'm kind of into that stuff. They're friendly and helpful. The staff who gave the tour was also very friendly and knowledgeable about the situation."

"My experience with Holiday Woods at Canco was very good. The person who gave the tour was very friendly and very knowledgeable. I got to see one room, and it looked like a generous amount of living space. And there's a nice sitting room and a bedroom and things like that. The dining area looked great. They have a good room for community activities, too. There was bingo and a book group going on when I was there. There was happy hour with cocktails and games. They have a nice library area, and they offer trips as well for the community. But there were a few places that needed a little bit of work."

"Ashton Gardens Gracious Retirement Living was well-kept. My overall experience was great. And it's a very beautiful living community with lots of opportunities. The staff who gave the tour was very energetic, knowledgeable, and very kind. The rooms are nice quaint little spaces with plenty of storage. The dining area looked great, but I haven't tasted any of the food. They have community trips for activities. There are different groups, and they have a movie theater. They have a community room for crafting, reading groups, and bingo."

"My brother recently passed away. He was a resident at the Brentwood Center. It was a difficult time, but the staff made me feel at home as I stayed with my brother to the end. It was obvious that everyone cared about my brother and his comfort, not only at this end of his life, but during his stay there. I will be forever grateful to their kindness and attentiveness to his needs."

"I really like how Bay Square at Yarmouth is intimate. It seemed like they really care about their tenants. I also thought it was really nice how they have their meal times. It's very intimate, quiet, and low key, and I really like that. They also had full nursing staff there. They have the highest licenses, which is a very good sign. They can do until end of life, so that's a big plus for me. The staff member who gave the tour was very helpful. The dining room was small and very intimate. It's really good for memory care, and it's very homely. They have geriatric doctors that come in. They have two courtyards in the memory care part, and then they have another courtyard for the assisted living, and I thought that was awesome."

"Wardwell Retirement is very friendly. They provided the type of care that my friend needed. The rooms are beautiful. He came from a small apartment in New York, and his apartment is exactly the right size for him and not overwhelming. They have everything from exercise to entertainment, they go out for meals, and they have memory games. "

"I went on a tour of this assisted living facility to see how the quality of life was for the residents. This is a fairly well kept facility that has friendly staff that treated the residents as if they were their own family members. Everything is done on a schedule such as meals and different entertainment events that the residents can choose to be a part of such as games. The rooms are kept clean and fresh smelling. The staff are very alert and assist the residents with their every possible need and they do not make the residents wait for a long amount of time before they receive assistance and they are not mean or rude to the residents. This facility is a facility I would consider placing one of my elderly family members in because I wouldn't have to worry about their personal well being. There are so many facilities that are not kept clean and are not so nice to the residents but I can happily say this is not one of those places. The exterior of the facility is well kept and seems inviting and friendly as well. "

"My mother preferred the Inn at Atlantic's independent housing, where you could have a house, but you're going to buy it. In addition, it has assisted living, and if you need rehabilitation, it was connected to the facility, so you just move in there. It also had a nursing home facility. You avoid having to go through multiple changes as you progress to the other care, and that was the other big plus. They were doing a wine and cheese social, had a musician come in three days a week, and had a salt water pool where they do aquacise. They looked forward to what was happening. "

"I've been in Seal Rock Healthcare in Saco for a week now. I'd recommend it. It's well-appointed. It's modern. The staff is excellent, and the grounds are beautiful. There're a lot of staffers, they're very friendly, and I don't have to wait. Sometimes I have to order something different because I can't eat what they're serving. For breakfast, for example, they have a lot of eggs and I don't eat eggs. I'm getting physical therapy and occupational therapy."

"I am the family member of current resident of the assisted living side of this facility. The facility is clean and maintained. Rooms are mostly doubles. Placement staff do the best to match up like individuals. There are plenty of activities. The activity staff are very helpful in coming to get residents and remind them of the schedule. The care director Tammy is very accessible and helpful. Staff are very patient and kind. They always call us with any questions or concerns. It is helpful to me to know that she is in a safe place with kind people to help her when she needs it. Down side is the food is institutional food- Not bad food just processed food full of sodium, nothing you can do about that. There are choices, I just wish they were healthier ones for patients on sodium restricted diets!"

"The Pine Point Center provided my Mom the utmost quality of highly skilled, compassionate care for many months. The staff worked well together as a cohesive team that openly promoted an environment of friendliness, expertise, and attention to their residents. Family interactions with the medical and nursing staff were open, honest, bi-directional and informative. Social Services and nursing staff were attentive to not only the resident’s wellness but also to that of the family caregiver members. CNAs and nurses, as well as dietary and environmental services personnel, responded quickly and effectively to the residents’ requests. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, and the residents’ privacy is always respected to the fullest extent. My Mom constantly commented “It’s so quiet and peaceful here, and everyone is so nice.” I would definitely consider residing here for my own needs should it become necessary."

"Scarborough Terrace is a warm and friendly environment. The minute we walked in we knew this was the place for our sister. Everyone was happy, from the residents to the employees. We sensed that if it is a great place to work, it is a great place to live. The personal attention our sister has received is impressive as well as the timely communication with the staff. We searched and toured numerous facilities, but none could compare. It is extremely difficult to move a loved one to an assisted living facility, but I have absolute confidence in this team!"

"My husband moved into The Mooring at the Downs. They were able to provide the care that he needed with his dementia. The staff was fabulous. It's a very good facility. It's geared specifically for severe dementia patients, and it's great. It has a ratio of approximately four residents per attendants, which is a great ratio. It's a beautiful facility. It is small and only holds twelve residents. They always try to get them out every day. They have a van, and they take them for rides. They have a beautiful outdoor area. They're very good and very attentive, and that's what you need."
