My wife is in Covington Manor in a big rehab facility. It's close to where my home is, which makes it more convenient for me. They seem to go out of their way to help. They have bingo, polish your nails, and have a lot of activities. They're very good.

My mother started in the rehab section. Very good rehab, then moved to long term. Started out good. After a year and three different Administrators, four different Director of Nursing it went way down hill. Understaffed, filthy, mistreatment from nurses and aides. No wound care. They don't follow doctors orders. Nurses do not wear gloves. Nurses do not wear gloves changing bandages on residents with MRSA, or residents with Cdiff. Never heard of Cdiff until my mother was diagnosed with it after having symptoms long before being tested at Covington Manor. My mother also got MRSA at Covington Manor. Nurse Practioner, Director of Nursing felt there was no "medical" reason to send my mother to hospital. After weeks of complaining of symptoms and arguing with staff. My mother died at the hospital at 76 years old. She was in the hospital for 33 days and hospice for almost 2 days. My heart is broken. I literally went to see my mother everyday at the nursing home, I can't imagine the residents that have no family.

She’s currently in Covington Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center. She says she’s comfortable, and she likes the food. She says she likes it there. She seems to be clean when I visit her; I know that they turn her and check her Depends every 2 hours. It seems like a rather lonely place; I don’t see a lot of interaction between staff and the people on her unit. She started on rehab, and that room was decent. She had her own room; she had a nice window to look through and a bird feeder. She went to the dining room for meals. The rehab facility there was nice. After that, she had gone downhill, and she went to the nursing home section and had a roommate there. She wasn’t there very long before they had to put her on the memory care. Each time she has moved, I would say the rooms were blander. They offer a lot of activities, but she doesn’t partake with them.
