"The person I visited at The Knolls really likes the place. It has a very big Olympic-sized swimming pool, and she is a swimmer, so she really loves that. She can drive her car and everything, so she is kind of on her own, and she likes that of course. She has a two-bedroom that has a really nice kitchen, and she can cook her own food if she wants. She has a washer and dryer in the bathroom, and there's one room that is set up like an office with a desk, and she can use that. I saw the dining room, but no one was eating in it. I didn't meet any staff, but my friend showed us the place herself. The facility is not brand new, but it's not really old either, so it's nice."

"We toured Thrive at Montvale. We liked the amenities, and we liked the fact that it was very new and very fresh. It was very nice. The staff was great, and we enjoyed the tour. We liked their meal plan and the size of the facility. It was not too big and not too small. We liked the fact that they could move from independent to assisted living if they needed to. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly, and they wanted to get to know my parents, which was good. The cleanliness was great. We liked the courtyard quite a bit. They had a garden room and a giant LEGO area for families to play in, and they had water features, but the units were a little bit on the small side. The atmosphere was vibrant, and we liked the setup, the layout, and the spaces."

"My grandfather moved into Atria Rye Brook, and so far, it seems like it would be a great, new atmosphere for him. The people who work there are lovely and have been very helpful and welcoming. It seems to be a nice next step for him. They have a lot of activities, but he hasn't take advantage because he's busy with the move. But they have poker, happy hours, movie showings, and professors come in and give lectures on what's current (like politics and stuff like that). His room is spacious, it's kept clean, we painted and recarpeted, but it was a clean place to begin with. He mentioned that the food is fine. It's not bad, but it's not great. It's average."

"Gladhaven Club is a small community. There are only about 12 to 15 people there. It's located in an old house so it's very homey. I feel like it's a nice community to be moving into. My tour experience was very good. The rooms vary in size, but they're all quite nice and they are very nicely furnished. If you prefer, you can bring your own furniture too. It appeared to be very well kept. The dining area is communal dining. I didn't have any food, but they said it was all home cooking. I'm hoping it's going to be good. They don't have activities like they do in some places. They have parties occasionally, but they don't have regular activities."

"Coterie Hudson Yards is very nice, but it's very expensive. I went on a tour of their assisted living and the rooms are beautiful, the staff is very friendly, and the food is wonderful. It's almost like a restaurant-type atmosphere where you can order drinks with all types of food and entertainment. You have the piano player going while you're eating. The people are polite and professional. I also had a meal with them. They have a wonderful menu and a chef right on the premises. Their rooms are not shared, but they also accommodate couples. They take the residents on tours down to Manhattan and go to different places and different restaurants. It's a wonderful place."

"I am writing this review to compliment the experience I had in the private dining room. My mother had a visit from her niece nephew and grandniece. They were most accommodating to set up the dining room and Daniella, our server was most attentive. I felt like I was in a 5 star hotel. Thank you so much!"

"I like the location of Atria Forest Hills in relation to the city. It's a nice place, comfortable, and generally well-run. The employees are nice and know what they're doing. The food is generally good; it's not necessarily perfect, and when you have a complaint, they do try to work on it. They have an excellent physician who's here twice a week. They clean your room every day and do your laundry weekly. "

"I toured The Willows Home. It's lovely. I talked to a couple of residents, and they're very happy there. The nurse said that they have three meals a day, entertainment, and a beautiful common room. The bedrooms were very nice. The entire place is clean, but it's not what we're looking for right now. The dining area was lovely. They have a beautiful dining table, and everyone has a place at the table. She showed me the well-stocked kitchen. They have three hot meals a day, plus snacks are available to the residents. The staff was very gracious and very understanding. She showed me around, a very nice lady. The facility was very clean and had a very pleasant smell. The bathrooms were clean. The toilets were clean. I have nothing bad to say about it. It was a very nice place. They're somewhere I would consider if they had the accessibility that my father needs right now."

"I liked the New Nautilus Hotel. It was clean. They had a lot of activities right on the beach, and there were ocean views. They're very knowledgeable and very friendly. The apartment I saw had a little tiny space for a little refrigerator, counter, a bed, and a dresser. It was clean, nice, and efficient. It was large and had a lot of closet space. I saw a lot of people with the aides. Some people were walking around without any assistance. Some people had walkers. Some were in wheelchairs."

"It was a nice facility, but their rooms were very small, like studio flats. They had an art room, a salon, and game room."

"Divine Serenity Assisted Living looked like it was a residence that they converted to individual rooms. The time I was there, as far as I know, the residents were either on a trip or going to the doctor, so there were no residents there. The lady showed me the area where they would be doing work in the building. She also showed me a room. She answered all my questions. She told me how they take care of the residents. They have a nurse that comes in and a doctor. If the resident has to take medicine they take care of that too."

"My mother is in Saint Michael's Home, which is a private home in Yonkers. It's a Greek Orthodox home, so you have to be Greek Orthodox to move into it. The archdiocese runs it. I won't recommend this home to anyone, that's why my mother is leaving. The place itself is fine, the aides are wonderful, but the administration has to go. My mother has been mistreated, she's been -- I would call it -- mentally abused. I was overseas over the summer and they put her in the hospital for a UTI infection. When the hospital went to bring her back, they wouldn't let her in the home. They left her in the ambulance for 45 minutes, and this is an 87-year-old woman with dementia. Now my mother's right foot is blistery and raw, and they never notified me until I saw it. I'm done with them, and I'm taking her out of there because they're not treating her correctly. The problem with them is they're money-hungry. The residence fee is not bad, but because my mother is in a semi-private room, according to them she can only stay if she's in a private room. Unfortunately, I couldn't afford a private room. So in other words, if you can't pay, you gotta leave, so they're mistreating my mother for that reason. As of now, our fees are not expensive at all. According to my mom the food is good. The problem is my mom is happy there. She doesn't speak English, but they all speak Greek there, that's the reason I tried to leave her there."

"We have placed my mom in Five Star Premier Residences of Yonkers. She is living there now. The staff there is very helpful and very friendly there. They're very thorough regarding taking care of my mom. The food is really good. It's good quality. I've tasted some of it, and it's very tasty. We also have our own some kind of managed care, so that seems to be well. The nurses are diligent about ensuring that she is taking her medications and that things are working well. So far, I've been really happy with the place. The place feels like a hotel. It's comfortable. The staff is accommodating. I feel that she's in a good place. My mom has her own apartment. It's a bedroom, a living room and a kitchenette with a nice big bathroom that accommodates a wheelchair. It's just a nice apartment. It's clean, and it has its air conditioner and heater. She can control her heat or air. It's relatively modern, so that's good. It's a nice place. She has been there for two weeks now. They have assisted living with nursing care and the other facilities were not as accommodating, so this one seems to be the best place."
