"Sunrise of Cresskill is very modern. It is clean and welcoming. My mom hasn’t moved in yet, but this is one that we felt would be best for her. The dining area is nice and very welcoming. The rooms are of very good size, clean and well-maintained. There are many activities. I didn’t really get to see a full program, but they seemed very good and appropriate. They have a huge calendar set up so that the residents know exactly what’s coming. "

"My mom is a resident at Atria Riverdale and is currently in the life guidance section. I couldn’t be more satisfied with the unwavering commitment from their wonderful staff, providing the daily care that is necessary to keep my mom engaged in every day living. This place is beautiful, well-maintained and my mom loves the food. Highly recommended"

"Riverwalk is the Hebrew Home's Independent Living Facility. On balance, it is probably one of the best values in the Bronx/Westchester area. The staff is excellent, especially Katy and Regina who run the place. The rooms are ok, it is an older converted apt bldg so don't expect a modern look/feel (although the apts are all renovated as needed). The windows are old/heavy and the heating system is not easily controllable or modern. The food is good, not bad ... not excellent either ... and it's Kosher. There is a definite slant towards Jewish heritage, culture, and ethnicity. In my Mom's case, this is one thing that was very important to her. There are daily activities, transportation to local shopping and doctors (only in the immediate area), and two meals daily included. However, in my mind ... the best feature of the facility is the staff. If you are looking for a facility where the staff becomes like family to you, where the staff knows not only the tenant's name, but your name also ... if you are looking for a homey place where everyone from the maintenance staff to the security guards are extremely friendly, kind and treat you like family ... than this is the place for your loved one. So prioritize your needs, and decide what is important to you. If having a homey, friendly environment where you are treated like family is important, consider Riverwalk."

"I am a new resident of Atria West 86th. My husband and I moved into the community on August 16, 2022 from Michigan. The move was a huge transition for my husband and I. Part of the decision to move to this community is to be near my daughter. We are still acclimating to the routine and appreciate the care and support that we are receiving. The quality of the food is great. Most importantly, the staff are wonderful. We benefit from services including the socialization activities in-house as well as the outings. Overall, we like it here as our new home."

"Our experience at Harbour View Senior Living was good. The admissions process was simple and easy. Staff was able to send ahead of time, photos and information about their activities and what they do. And then upon arrival, it was also very efficient. Meeting the team members between activities and the nurses all came around even before I left that day, which was great. I think my father had a good experience. He has onset dementia, so he doesn't remember all the things all the time, but they did send me also updated videos of him when I was away engaged in different activities and made sure that he had his phone available so that I could speak with them regularly. So, they were very helpful. On the return, I didn't see anyone. But I do want to do like, a follow-up of how everything went while he was there. But overall I think it was a good experience. The room was like a dorm room, very plain and simple. I brought everything that he needed, a television and his clothes. His dorm room, basically with his bathroom, was nothing fancy. They have lots of common areas. They even have a little chapel there. They have lots of activities."

"I toured the independent living community of Carnegie East House in New York. I like the friendliness of the staff and the whole setup. I like the rooms, the dining area, the common areas, and the menus they offer. I also like the location and the cost. The place struck me as wonderful. It's very appealing and very clean, and I like the decor."

"My sister moved to Coterie Hudson Yards. It's spectacular. It's very expensive, but it's truly a wonderful place. The staff is perfect. They interact wonderfully. They're very caring. They are always watching what you're doing. They're friendly. They're professional. I couldn't speak more highly of them. Her room is not big but has big windows and a beautiful bathroom. It has beautiful walk-in showers. It's a private room. Everything you can imagine of their daily activities like there was a violin concert yesterday. They're always working with people individually. It's top-notch."

"Meadowview assisted living facility is the best place that I personally think is perfect for my mother. Earlier my mom did not like the idea of living in a assisted living facility, even I did not quite approve of it but later on I felt that she was indeed getting lonely and there was not much people to take proper care of her, but when we arriver at Meadowview Assisted Living at The Wartburg Adult Care Community we were astonished to see their hospitality and the place felt kinda homey . The only thing I would complain would be that it is a bit more costly that the others but it seems to be worth it as they have excellent nursing staff as well as excellent medical amenities. They most appreciable thing is that as compared to other assisted living facilities they allow us to keep out pets , my mom loved it she had two cats which were close to her heart and they let her keep it too. So overall I wonderful experience there and would recommend it to everyone else. "

"We have been living in Hallmark Battery Park for over six months now. We couldn't get a two bedroom apartment in other places except here. It became available a month after we contacted the managemnet. The staff is very good and excellent to its peak. They are very accomodating and polite. We only get two meals a day included in our negotiated lease. Some people who don't get three meals eat out. We sometimes eat out. The thing is if we miss a meal, we get a credit to make it up anytime during the month. It doesn't usually carry over for the next month. It is very nice and works out very well. Their meals are acceptable. They are well served and well planned. You can have anything you want for breakfast. We have a daily menu, and we have a seasonal menu. You can choose between the two. They are very accomodating in that aspect. They should improve on seating arrangement in the dining room though. We sometimes have concerts in the house. Occasionally, we have live music in our large living room, and it holds quite a few people. We have concerts or lectures there. In the lower level of the facility, there is a movie showing -- usually an old movie -- every night. A bus takes us to movie outings sometimes. Plus, I take Spanish class once a week. There are also art classes, a variety of creative activities, and exercises. Hallmark is a pretty active community. It has a good selection and mix of people. It is not perfect though. It is not the same thing like living in your own home. But on the other hand, you don't have to do any of the work or the housekeeping. We get our own housekeeping services twice a week. Most people get it once a week. We do have to wash our own clothes and laundry. However, they do wash the sheets, pillowcases, and towels twice a week. That is the great thing about assisted living facility. They do it all for you. "

"I toured The Willows Home. It's lovely. I talked to a couple of residents, and they're very happy there. The nurse said that they have three meals a day, entertainment, and a beautiful common room. The bedrooms were very nice. The entire place is clean, but it's not what we're looking for right now. The dining area was lovely. They have a beautiful dining table, and everyone has a place at the table. She showed me the well-stocked kitchen. They have three hot meals a day, plus snacks are available to the residents. The staff was very gracious and very understanding. She showed me around, a very nice lady. The facility was very clean and had a very pleasant smell. The bathrooms were clean. The toilets were clean. I have nothing bad to say about it. It was a very nice place. They're somewhere I would consider if they had the accessibility that my father needs right now."

"The tour I had at Castle Senior Living at Forest Hill was good. It was very interesting and very informative. It's a very limited area. It's kind of compressed and yet they made it look like they made good use of the space. They showed us a one-bedroom and it was very nice. The gentleman who showed us around was all very good and very informative. Downstairs, they had a common area where people gathered inside the building and they also had an outside area where people were gathering too. It looked clean."

"My mother moved into Atria Forest Hills. She doesn't have any additional needs. They don't do any showering for her, give her medications, or anything. She's in independent living. The people are so kind and so helpful. They know all of their residents. It is clean and pristine. Everything is new and comfortable. The care is phenomenal. They check in on her all the time. She has choices for meals. They have lots of activities. She's been to about six activities since Saturday, where she never went to anywhere before. It's like starting a new life for her or reverse of life because she's been living alone in a three-story house. She wasn't able to get out or see anybody. Her life has changed to where she cares about what she looks like and is happy to meet and talk to people. I could not be happier. This place is a God sent and the people that work there. They are perfect. They are fabulous. It's a little expensive, but well worth it."

"My sister stayed at Atria Kew Gardens for only two weeks. Her room was fine. The staff was nice, and the director took me around and explained everything. The dining area was good sized, and they had different sections to accommodate all the residents. Everything looked nice. We saw a room upstairs, and it was very nice. We ended up buying some furniture for her, a loveseat, a chair, a TV, and a stand. They had a video room, and they had Bingo. It's a really nice place."

"Atria Cutter Mill was very nice. It was more of an apartment-building style. There was no green space, but there was a gazebo, like an atrium, in the center that was open. It's not easy to find parking if you have multiple guests coming. The staff was very accommodating and very friendly, and they answered all of my questions. They reached out to me afterwards and said that if I had any questions, they'd be happy to answer them or work with me. They baked me some bread, and it was delicious. I didn't get to try the food, but if my in-laws wanted to come back, they would happily serve them a meal and let them try the food. They had a lot of activities scheduled, but I did not see any going on. It was very clean, but the apartments were small. The one thing that was nice was that you could easily walk to the railroad and to restaurants; that was all very easily accessible."

"The person I visited at The Knolls really likes the place. It has a very big Olympic-sized swimming pool, and she is a swimmer, so she really loves that. She can drive her car and everything, so she is kind of on her own, and she likes that of course. She has a two-bedroom that has a really nice kitchen, and she can cook her own food if she wants. She has a washer and dryer in the bathroom, and there's one room that is set up like an office with a desk, and she can use that. I saw the dining room, but no one was eating in it. I didn't meet any staff, but my friend showed us the place herself. The facility is not brand new, but it's not really old either, so it's nice."

"Outstanding place with the hearts of all the workers and providers. Elena L., my mom, was a resident from July 2010 through December 2011. I am so glad mom spent her time here, and will always be extremely grateful for the combined efforts we received from this facility. It seemed like a hotel rather than a health care facility yet was more reasonably priced. "

"When I first thought of Atria on Roslyn Harbor for my uncle I thought I would find and old dated location or it would be too expensive for him. However, it had had a complete renovation including a brand new renovated unit. What I found most comforting and finalized my decision is that the staff knows all the residents and seemed to have such a great relationship with them and have been working there many years. Also there is so many different activities and outing. My uncle said it feels like family. I love seeing him flourish there and hope he will be there for many years to come."
