"I toured Atria Riverdale, and that was my favorite place, but it was too expensive. The staff was wonderful. The place was very impressive and very clean. Everyone was super nice. I walked by while they were eating and the food looked delicious. The place was immaculate, and if I had the money, my mother would be there. Their rooms were big. Even their standard room was almost the size of a full apartment. Their deluxe room was beautiful, and I'm pretty sure that their one-bedroom apartment is bigger than my first apartment."

"I would rate RiverWalk Senior Apartments highly. The condition of the place and the staff is good. If I could, I would have moved there but they only had one bedroom and I wanted a big apartment. They give you trials. You can come in for maybe two months and see if that's the place you want to live. The staff took me to 4 different apartments in 4 different sizes. I thought the apartment was clean and ready for a move-in. He said if you want to, you could buy your furniture. The dining room looks like a five-star restaurant. It had tablecloths and nice rugs. It was very nice. They even have a pool and a beautiful garden."

"Atria West 86 was wonderful. The staff was very friendly, welcoming, and gave a lot of their time. I appreciated it. I like the location in particular. Most of the rooms overlook the Hudson, and it's half a block away from a lovely park. It was very nice. I felt like I met all of the administrators, and everyone, including the cleaning people whom I happened to bump into in the elevator or wherever, were all very friendly and welcoming. I had lunch there and it was very nice. It's a very old building. It used to be a hotel at one time, and then changes were made. It was very clean."

"I toured Harbour View Senior Living. The rooms are big enough, and everything is comfortable. Also, I got the opportunity because everything is included, including the meals, medical attention in case some emergency shows up, and nursing service in case I need it. A parking lot is also included. I can park my car anywhere because there are a lot of areas to park my car, so it's very convenient for me. There is a social room where people can meet and make a program. The price is not very cheap, but it's correct because everything is included. The people were very kind and nice."

"Coterie Hudson Yards is very nice, but it's very expensive. I went on a tour of their assisted living and the rooms are beautiful, the staff is very friendly, and the food is wonderful. It's almost like a restaurant-type atmosphere where you can order drinks with all types of food and entertainment. You have the piano player going while you're eating. The people are polite and professional. I also had a meal with them. They have a wonderful menu and a chef right on the premises. Their rooms are not shared, but they also accommodate couples. They take the residents on tours down to Manhattan and go to different places and different restaurants. It's a wonderful place."

"We toured The Esplanade at Palisades. The people there looked very happy and were very involved in whatever activity was happening when we were taking the tour. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and stopped to give us feedback on their responsibilities as we passed. The size of the room is fine. We saw a studio that had an independent bathroom. We saw what they used as a model, so I don't know what the actual rooms look like. The administrator told us there were some areas where they were upgrading. Some things looked old, but they were in the process of upgrading. Everything looked fine, and they offered housekeeping. The dining area looked very nice. It looked like a cafeteria-style place."

"My mom is in Wartburg. She went there for rehab, and they have an assisted living program right there, so we transferred her from rehab right to assisted living. To me, the place is excellent. They have excellent care there. She had excellent care in the rehab center. They have excellent ratings. She is in senior housing now. The staff is wonderful. I haven't had a problem. They're very pleasant and very easy to talk to. They take care of my mother, which is the main thing. She has a studio apartment and she's very happy. Her room is excellent. It's clean. They come in constantly to do housekeeping. They're very excellent. Basically, they remodeled the place and it's beautiful. The grounds are beautiful. She is getting very good care there. The food is good. There's three meals a day. If you don't like what they're serving you, you can get plenty of substitutes. Whatever you want, the chef makes it for you. Right now, because of the COVID, they only have a music program, trivia, and Jeopardy. They don't have too many activities. They can't have anybody from the outside come in. The music program is nice. They have somebody coming in twice a week to do music. It was also the most reasonable place that we checked out."

"I toured The Willows Home. It's lovely. I talked to a couple of residents, and they're very happy there. The nurse said that they have three meals a day, entertainment, and a beautiful common room. The bedrooms were very nice. The entire place is clean, but it's not what we're looking for right now. The dining area was lovely. They have a beautiful dining table, and everyone has a place at the table. She showed me the well-stocked kitchen. They have three hot meals a day, plus snacks are available to the residents. The staff was very gracious and very understanding. She showed me around, a very nice lady. The facility was very clean and had a very pleasant smell. The bathrooms were clean. The toilets were clean. I have nothing bad to say about it. It was a very nice place. They're somewhere I would consider if they had the accessibility that my father needs right now."

"We toured Thrive at Montvale. We liked the amenities, and we liked the fact that it was very new and very fresh. It was very nice. The staff was great, and we enjoyed the tour. We liked their meal plan and the size of the facility. It was not too big and not too small. We liked the fact that they could move from independent to assisted living if they needed to. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly, and they wanted to get to know my parents, which was good. The cleanliness was great. We liked the courtyard quite a bit. They had a garden room and a giant LEGO area for families to play in, and they had water features, but the units were a little bit on the small side. The atmosphere was vibrant, and we liked the setup, the layout, and the spaces."

"From the first visit to Atria Woodlands, we knew that it would be a great place for my mom. Christine made us feel welcome when she met with us. She gave us a guided tour of the facility and took the time to answer all of our questions. The Atria is clean and it has many amenities to offer such as daily activities, movies, games, lectures, and an art room. We were invited to lunch there and my mom thought that the food was delicious! Christine, the dining staff, and the other staff members that we met were all friendly and helpful. It is a safe environment with comfortably sized apartments. We are thankful that we found such a wonderful place for my mom to call home."

"The first thing that I didn't like at Castle Senior Living at Forest Hills that was a turn-off is that as soon as you walked in you saw many people with walkers and wheelchairs. I understand that it is assisted living for seniors, but not everybody wants that in their face as soon as they walk in. I saw the apartments at their independent living and assisted living, and I liked them. The only thing that I didn't like was when I walked in and I knew right away that my aunt wouldn't like that. The staff member who gave the tour was very helpful, especially when I'm new to this assisted living home. One thing that I remember is that when we got on the floors they were cleaning, so you got that cleaning smell, which is like an institutional smell."

"During my visit at Atria Forest Hills, everybody looked very content and happy. They would be administrating my husband's medicine and redirecting him, which is good. It looks like my husband would be comfortable there. The place was comfortable, and nobody seemed to be stressed. The tour was great. Everybody seemed to be on point about what we would like done. They fulfilled our needs as far as answering questions and showing us around. They were very well organized. They have a refrigerator. They have towels and linens. It's very clean. Three meals a day are included. There's a nice restaurant with a nice menu. Everybody was pleasant. They have a clean dining area. The staff who gave the tour was very knowledgeable."

"I visited the Atria Kew Gardens. I toured for independent living and was pleasantly surprised. It was a very nice environment, and I liked the location. It's only 15 minutes from where most of my family lives. It was also just two blocks off of Metropolitan Avenue, so there was some shopping and stuff quite close. I don't know how much of that you're going to need because they offer three meals a day and snacks, too. What I liked overall was just the atmosphere. The woman I dealt with was lovely. The place has a beautiful patio and an outside sitting area, which is very nice. I think she said there were three nurses and a doctor on staff because there is a section of people with dementia that is separate. They also have activities. They didn't have a gym, per se, but they did offer exercise classes, Yoga, Tai Chi, Zumba, and static boxing, which was very nice. They play bingo, of course. Every old person likes bingo. They have a library and a parlor. All of the common areas were very well kept and seemed very well used, too. The independent living apartment was on the smaller side, but it's great. The building is spotless."

"We toured Atria Cutter Mill. They have lovely staff and nice facilities. It was good. They provide three meals a day. They had limited kitchens. They had a microwave and a refrigerator. I don't remember if they had a stove. If they did, it was a very small stove. My uncle likes to cook, and he would not be able to make some of his cakes and cookies that he likes to share. So, that would not be the optimal choice."

"The person I visited at The Knolls really likes the place. It has a very big Olympic-sized swimming pool, and she is a swimmer, so she really loves that. She can drive her car and everything, so she is kind of on her own, and she likes that of course. She has a two-bedroom that has a really nice kitchen, and she can cook her own food if she wants. She has a washer and dryer in the bathroom, and there's one room that is set up like an office with a desk, and she can use that. I saw the dining room, but no one was eating in it. I didn't meet any staff, but my friend showed us the place herself. The facility is not brand new, but it's not really old either, so it's nice."

"I don’t normally fill these out but I’ve been truly touched by the way Sunrise welcomed my godfather during his first day. When we arrived, we were greeted by a warm a Welcome Home banner that immediately made the place feel like a caring family environment. In addition to that, there was a thoughtful welcome gift waiting in their room, its the small gestures that spoke volumes about the attention to detail and genuine care here. Neil personally made sure every part of the day was smooth and reassuring, answering all our questions with kindness and empathy. We also met Nia, she was so gentle and kind in her approach when speaking to him and creating his personalized plan. He told us he felt so special his first day. It’s comforting to know that my loved one is not only in good hands but also in a place that feels like home from the very first moment."
