"My husband will move into Ashton Manor At Sugarloaf. The room is small and has a shared bathroom. They've been excellent. They kept checking back with me, answering all my questions, and showing me anything I wanted to see. They do have a general meeting room where they try to take all the residents down to make sure that they don't just sit in their room by themselves. So, that's good."

"Celebration Village Forsyth comes off as a cleaner, more lively, and more active community than some of the other facilities. It's bright in appearance. It's more cheerful. The rooms are bigger. They're more spacious. They have bigger kitchens. Everybody we ran into was very pleasant and helpful."

"Laurel Grove was really nice. The rooms were great, but it's a little out of my father's budget. The staff was nice."

"My uncle moved to Sanford Estates. What I like best is the facility as a whole and the actual place. They have nice, open rooms and a lot more amenities than the other places we toured. The staff was helpful and accommodating. The sales manager even offered to pick up my uncle and bring him to the facility to help out. They've been wonderful. The facility is very well kept. There's clean carpet and nice walls, and it has a good smell. They offer a lot, and he's done a couple of arts and crafts so far. The rooms are spacious. It was more than enough space for him, and that was the smallest studio they offered. I can only imagine the bigger rooms and the places that they have."

"Village Park was a very nice facility. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The staff was very pleasant. It's also a good location and it's near shopping."

"I would give Towne Club Windermere a five all the way around. That was my favorite place, but it is set up more like an apartment building. It's a tower and you had to get on an elevator, and Mom wasn't comfortable with that, but the rooms were fantastic. They were like regular-size apartments. They have a beautiful pool, a garden area, a movie room, a hair salon, and tour buses that would take you to the grocery stores and stuff. Any amenity that you could think of they had there. They did social hour; you come down in the main room and have appetizers and things like that. They go from independent living all the way to memory care. The staff during the tour was very, very attentive. She showed us several different sized rooms and she gave us the pricing. She made sure that we had all the meals. She let us taste the meals, which were very, very good. She took us around. She was very patient with Mom and Dad. We actually sat down around the pool with some of the people there, and we were able to talk to the residents there, ones that were in wheelchair and ones that were a little bit more independent. My concern then at that point in time was finding a place for both my Mom and Pop and Pop to be more active. The staff introduced Pop to some of the guys there that still play golf and things like that, so he really felt comfortable there. It was Mom that was not at the time, that's why we didn't do so. We actually were there three times and we signed a contract with them twice. Mom just didn't think she could do that elevator. She didn't feel comfortable with it."

"The Sheridan at Eastside was nice and new. They were convenient, and I believe there were still vacancies when we visited. They provide all the utilities, meals, and activities. I think they have movies, a workout room, a pool, aerobics, crafts, bingo, and other things I'm interested in doing. The staff we met were really nice too."

"When we realized it was time to move my dad to a place where he'd get better care, it was extremely stressful. After touring seven facilities, I walked into Atria North Point expecting another disappointment. What I found, instead, was a beautiful facility, kind and patient staff, and residents who seemed to exude joy. After touring the independent, assisted, and memory care areas, we knew this was the place for dad. Emily, the sales director, was SO incredible; she helped us navigate the process step by step, and it was clear she genuinely cares for the residents around her. Dad's been there for a few weeks now and is really enjoying the change. Seeing him happy and engaging in something other than watching TV all day (he went to an art class and painted a picture!) wasn't something I'd ever see again. Thank you, Atria NP!"

"I visited Brookdale South Lee Buford, and the place was comparable to others. My mom didn't choose this place because it has more traffic compared to the other places. I think the activities included trips to Walmart, games, and movie nights. When I went to visit there, some of the residents were playing cards. They had a nice, little dining area for the residents to go in and choose off a menu. I liked that they could circle what they wanted. They also had other options if you didn't like the main courses. "

"I have just moved into Dunwoody Pines. So far, the staff is great, the food is great, and I feel very comfortable and secure here. The meals are included and I've been satisfied with the selections. The food is tasty, and I enjoy my meals. I don't eat three times a day, which is normal for me, but whenever I go down, I'm satisfied. They have chair yoga, chair exercise, and other things like they went on an outing yesterday, and they had lunch. They had bus services to doctor's appointments and shuttle service to the bank. I'm not disappointed in anything."

"Cottonwood Estates was a very nice place that had all of the things we were looking for, except for continuing care program from independent to assisted, but you could buy assistance to come in. They changed management frequently last year. Other than that, I would have chosen it. The facilities were very nice, the dining rooms are centrally located, and you can get from one place to another fairly easily."

"My relative has been in Sunrise for a month now. The rooms are nice and spacious at 900 square feet for every couple. The dining room set up is good and has ample selections of food. It is not very seasoned, but I guess that’s for the elderly and tastes good. They have cards, a putting green, and a pool. They take them shopping and to shows. They also have different events in the building itself. "

"We visited other places and Brookdale Chambrel Roswell was the most outstanding and the one that I would have chosen if I were doing the choosing. It was excellent. Everything about the place was excellent. They served us lunch and the people in the dining room were happy with the food and happy with the staff. These were not actors. These were real people who live there. Everybody that we met in the halls and as we approached the main door, ladies were sitting outside and they all loved the place. Everything about our visit there was positive. The staff was outstanding and a lot of them had worked there for 20 some years. The fact that these people did not leave their jobs was fascinating to me, that they loved what they did helping those elderly people. We went to several available rooms. They all had separate bedrooms and they all had updated kitchens and updated bathrooms. The bathrooms were wheelchair accessible. They all had screened porches or balconies. The room sizes were, in some cases, small, but adequate. The grounds were like a park. It's absolutely beautiful. It's manicured. There's nothing about the landscaping or anything that you could complain about. There's plenty of parking for everybody. It was really good. They have a crafts room that's nice and a lot of residents were in there doing crafts for Christmas. They have a beauty parlor and there were people in there. They have a swimming pool, but it was closed for the winter. There's a beautiful library and a card room."

"We visited Vickery Rose Retirement Community. It was very impressive. It was just too expensive for me. The marketing tour guide, Anthony, was very welcoming, enthusiastic, helpful, and courteous. The facility was very well laid out. It was very large. It had a good design, and it seemed to be convenient. Some residents were watching a movie, exercising, eating, and some were sitting out front."
