"Ashwood Meadows Gracious Retirement Living is well organized, clean, and neat. It's very warm and inviting when you come in. There is a grand piano in the entrance. There is a beautiful eating area. It opens up to a comfortable lobby-type situation where you can sit and visit with people. I feel comfortable in my apartment. Sometimes, I don't want to leave it. Of course, that's one of the things they don't want you to do here. They want you to mingle if you can, so you have that option. So it's very, very comfortable, quiet, and peaceful. I enjoy the food. I've been here about 30 days, and they have nothing that I did not enjoy. There is a good variety. They give you some options. I'll have to give them a thumbs-up. The staff members are excellent. They respond to everything you ask for. They respond quickly, whether it's an administrative issue or a minor maintenance issue, which is very rare. They're very, very responsive, and they're just wonderful people. Their personalities seem to match the job perfectly. The place is expensive, though."

"Parc at Duluth was a very nice place. It was extremely clean. It looked like an upscale hotel, very pretty, and very opulent. The staff was very nice, very accommodating, and showed me the entire facility. The care director answered all my questions."

"I've been here in Laurel Grove by Barclay House for about three weeks now. It's very nice. The food is excellent. The people are very professional. They got some nice activities going on around here to keep you participating. They check on you and make sure you're OK. It's a very professional environment. The staff is really nice. So far, for me, it's been a good experience. They have stuff like bingo, Scrabble, they play card games, and they have movie nights and game nights. It's very entertaining. On a scale from 1 to 10, I'll give it a 10. The dining hall is really nice, clean, and big. They keep it clean inside and outside. Every day, there is always something to do. They have bus trips to your appointment or to do some shopping. Everything here is nice."

"I toured Village Park Alpharetta. It was nice. It was just too far away for us to be driving every day to be with my husband, but everything was good there. There are no complaints at all. They have a sensory room. The inside is painted for people with Alzheimer's because certain colors on the wall and stuff like that soothe them and make them feel better. It was a little pricey for us, but other than that, it was beautiful."

"Oaks at Gracemont was a great place. Everything was good about it and we would have taken mom there. We liked the smallness, the cleanliness, and pretty much everything about it. The staff was genuinely helpful. They had a hair salon and a gym."

"I like the entire setup of Village Park Peachtree Corners. It is beautiful and the caregivers are very friendly and attentive. My dad's room has a nice layout and it's wheelchair accessible. They offer entertainment, arts and crafts, and group gatherings. They have a nice dining room and Dad likes the food. There's a good variety. Everything is going well."

"I like living here .It is very clean.It has its issues ebut they seem to always work out alright.I love the staff here .Most people that live here are friendly.So thankful to have my home here. "

"Smoky Springs by Barclay House stood out because it's close to everybody in our family. The other thing that stood out was that my mother said it was the most cheerful place she had been in. So, that's the one she selected. It is independent living; however, it's like the assisted living building, and it's all inside. The apartments are about the same as the assisted living. They have a la cart care, so if you need something, they have a group that works there, and you can just hire that person to do whatever you need. Like, if you need someone to give her her medicine, we can hire someone to go in once a day and do that. So, they have help, but it is a different set-up. My mother also lives independently, so she can do most of the stuff herself. They had a lot more activities, and she was interested in that. Most of them have 40 to 50 people, and this one has 100, so because they are bigger, they have more opportunities to participate. They have one-bedroom and studio apartments. They had five or six floor plans. When you move in, they will be renovated, so they're very bright and cheerful. The staff did a great job. They told us, although we didn't try any of their food, that all their food is locally sourced. The rent includes your meals, which are served three times a day."

"I toured Cottonwood Estates Gracious Retirement Living. It was extremely clean and well-kept. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I like their setup for the residents, the cafeteria, and the overall amenities they offer there. They provide three meals a day."

"My uncle moved to Sanford Estates. What I like best is the facility as a whole and the actual place. They have nice, open rooms and a lot more amenities than the other places we toured. The staff was helpful and accommodating. The sales manager even offered to pick up my uncle and bring him to the facility to help out. They've been wonderful. The facility is very well kept. There's clean carpet and nice walls, and it has a good smell. They offer a lot, and he's done a couple of arts and crafts so far. The rooms are spacious. It was more than enough space for him, and that was the smallest studio they offered. I can only imagine the bigger rooms and the places that they have."

"I visited Mt Vernon Village. Linda made a fascinating impression there. It was just outstanding. It was over there right between a school and a church. They were tucked off in the back. It's a nice private type of situation there. They are very upscale and very nice. It was built older, maybe 30 years old or maybe more, but it's very elegant. The apartments are very private. If you're in some sort of trouble, they can get into your apartment with no problem. You can enter and exit your apartment, too. Some of them have a patio where you can just walk right out your patio onto the car or onto your own back lawn. They provide all your meals. You don't have to pay for anything. You don't even have to buy groceries if you don't want to, but I buy my own. I have a different sort of dietary plan, but I liked the idea that grocery is no issue. Then they have a cafeteria. Everything is there. They got a chapel and I was able to meet some of the residents and they were pretty nice. They are very friendly people. They also have a weight room, a pool, and a dining room where people come and serve you the food. Then they have other little meeting rooms. For example, if you like to play an instrument or play the piano or something like that, they have a room for that. They have several different types of apartments where if you're the type of person who needs walk-in showers, they got that. The appliances are great. They got new appliances in most of the apartments. There's a full refrigerator, a full stove, and a full dishwasher. It'd be a place that you'd like to live. They invited me to dinner and I saw their menu and it was good. I don't eat a lot of meat and they have a menu there that would work for me as well. The menu looks great. They have an actual chef and kitchen staff and the the oldest member of the kitchen staff has been there for about 25-plus years."

"I toured The Landings Senior Villages. I really liked it, but it was more expensive. It doesn't fit my budget, but people were very friendly there. It's too far away from me and I didn't want to be out that far. The lady that I met was just very friendly and showed me around. The residents there were friendly and welcoming. They were setting up for lunch when I came in. I went into a house that was occupied. The old lady had it set up very nicely. Compared to the other facilities, it's a little roomier and it's newer. Everything looks fine, neat, and clean."

"My dad has been in Parc at Piedmont - East Cobb for a week now. I like the staff. They're friendly. My dad's room is nice. It's comfortable and clean. The food is healthy, and it works with his diabetes. With regards to activities, they have reading and physical therapy. But my dad doesn't do much physical therapy."

"I did a tour of Arbor Terrace Hamilton Mill. I would describe it as modern because it's only a few years old. It's quiet and it's well-staffed. The person who gave me the tour is fabulous, Barbara is her name. When I first visited without my mom, she spent over an hour with me. When I brought my mom, we were there for almost two hours. It was a very thorough tour."
