Our staff has ongoing training through Relias.
Describe the overall population of assisted living residents at Heartis Suwanee. What is their average age? What are their favorite things to do?
The average age is 84. Residents enjoy eating, music, word search, bingo, happy hour, and walks in the courtyard.
What programs or activities does Heartis Suwanee offer to enrich residents' well-being?
We utilize a Montessori based program called Spark which encourages living well and living inspired via mind, body, and spirit.
What places are near Heartis Suwanee or within walking distance for assisted living residents to enjoy?
We have 2 beautiful courtyards on site. The Suwanee Greenway walking trail, Suwanee Town Center, and the Suwanee Public library are both across the street.
What transportation services does Heartis Suwanee offer to assisted living residents?
We provide shuttle services for all of our residents which may include park visits, grocery store visits, doctors appointments and other activities.
What makes the chef or dining program at Heartis Suwanee exceptional? What kind of menu can assisted living residents expect?
Our culinary arts team is second to none. Our Chef has been here since day one. In addition to the daily variety of entrees, we have an "always available option" along with a 24 hour bistro (IL) for residents to select from. We keep snacks available in the lobby area as well (AL). We work with all kinds of diets including low sugar diets.
What safety features or security measures does Heartis Suwanee offer to assisted living residents?
We have caregivers on staff 24/7, an alert system in all apartments, and an emergency pendant for residents to use in case of emergency.
How does Heartis Suwanee keep residents' families informed about their loved ones?
Our Executive Director sends out a weekly email updating the residents and their families of the different activities going on in the community. We also have a monthly newsletter as well as an active Facebook page. We call residents' families after every incident involving their loved ones.
If Heartis Suwanee accepts dogs or cats, what indoor/outdoor areas can they enjoy?
We accept all animals at Heartis Suwanee. We have a Dog Park for our furry friends to enjoy some time off-leash. Our Residents' dogs are allowed in all areas of our community except the Dining Rooms. We also have a community dog named Jingle.

Our staff has ongoing training through Relias as well as fire safety training, medical training, and CPR.

Average age is 75. Our residents enjoy lunch outings, shopping, Bingo, card games, water aerobics, and happy hour.
What places are nearby for independent living residents to enjoy?
The Suwanee Greenway walking trail, Suwanee Town Center and the Suwanee Public library are both across the street. The Mall of GA and Gwinnett Heritage Center are 10 minutes north. The Infinite Energy Arena and Sugarloaf Mills Mall are 10 south. We are 30 mins from Downtown Atlanta and 1 hr from Dahlonega and Helen.
What are some recent off-site events that the community activity director at Heartis Suwanee has organized?
We have gone on shopping trips to the Mall of GA and Johns Creek. We have gone out to lunches at the Suwanee Town Ctr.

Heartis Suwanee has a heated pool in our courtyard, bar and lounge, dog park, game room, library, salon/spa, gym, observation deck, and movie theater.

We have a 24/7 concierge at the front desk and an alert system in all apartments. The Suwanee Police Station is right across the street from us.
If Heartis Suwanee accepts dogs or cats, what indoor/outdoor areas can they enjoy?
We accept all animals at Heartis Suwanee. We have a Dog Park for our furry friends to enjoy some time off-leash. Our Residents' dogs are allowed in all areas of our community except the Dining Rooms. We also have a community dog named Jingle.
Does Heartis Suwanee work with an agency or registry to provide nursing and medical assistance as needed?
We are currently working on offering home health services a la carte for our Independent Living residents.
What safety features or security measures does Heartis Suwanee provide to protect residents who wander?
Our Memory Care is a locked community with key card access. We also have alarms, both silent and audible to alert us on our Assisted Living Doors. We have concierges at our AL entrance.
What programs or activities does Heartis Suwanee offer to keep residents engaged? How does the staff engage residents' long-term memories?
We utilize a Montessori based program called Spark which encourages living well and living inspired via mind, body, and spirit. We have a daily morning meeting where we exercise, sing, and go over current events.
Who assesses residents' health and cognitive functioning? How often is that assessment repeated?
Our Health Services Director, a RN, completes the initial assessment. The first assessment after move in is completed in 30 days and then every 3 months thereafter.
What techniques does Heartis Suwanee use to support memory care residents during mealtimes?
We utilize a Montessori based program called Spark which encourages living well and living inspired via mind, body, and spirit. We have a daily morning meeting where we exercise, sing, and go over current events. Our Chefs can also prepare mech. soft, mech chopped, and pureed food as well as thickened liquids.
