"I like Magnolia Manor of Macon. They have different sections. They have the independent living building, and you have a small apartment stove, a regular-size refrigerator, a living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom. It's very nice. I really liked it. They also have a kitchen. If you don't feel like cooking, you can go downstairs and eat. They had a washer and dryer for each floor, and there weren't a lot of residents. It's not a huge place. The place was wonderful. The staff was great, the residents were friendly, and the location was great. Everything was great about it."

"I went here. It was nice. The people that worked there were very friendly. It was clean and nice. My dad had stayed there many years ago. My mother liked it at first; but then when they didn't have a private shower, she kind of turned against that. Other than that, it was a nice place. They had a lot of activities going on, which is a good thing. The rooms were nice size. The staff was polite. The residents were all out in the TV room, and some of them were watching TV and some were playing cards. They do stuff on just about every day. If you want to do it, you can participate. You don't necessarily have to, but they encourage it, which I think is good to encourage the older people to get out and mingle (so to speak). They have music on certain days, and they cook hamburgers outside. You get to bring your own furniture, so you can make the room as nice as you want to. It's plenty big enough for a loveseat, a twin bed, and a chest drawer. You make it what you want. You furnish it and decorate it how would you like. They have an outdoor area that's really nice. It has a bunch of flowers. The dining area is nice. It is kind of a cafeteria style. It is just big room. It looked like everybody was pretty peaceful. They were doing different things, but the residents looked like they were happy. It was pretty good."

"The manager was so nice and accommodating. The facility provided a two day stay in one of the suites for my mother that my wife and I truly appreciated. My mother only stayed one night and she did enjoy her stay but our family thinks she is not ready yet to move away from family. I believe my mother needs more than just independent living she requires assisted living. "

"I have positive remarks about this facility. The staff were helpful, friendly,and responded to my mother and stepfather's needs. I appreciated their offering various activities for the residents. I did not worry about my mother as the staff was quick to alert me to any medical problems. The facility was taken care of very well with repainting, pest control, repairs as needed. Also, the holiday activities were enjoyable. My mother met her husband, my stepfather, there, so it was even better for her. Tax help, assistance in procuring health care, transportation to/from appointments--all were offered. The only fear for me was that this was a high-rise facility, and I worried about the possibility of fire and evacuation from the upper floors as residents could do a small amount of food preparation. Nevertheless, it was a good choice for my mother, and she lived there until she died, having made friends and felt safe and secure in her own place. For that I am thankful. I would not hesitate to live in such a facility. "

"This assisted living facility is exceptional. The staff is the best I have seen in the Macon area. They really encourage the residents to be as independent as possible. The staff is also very upbeat and the resident care assistants have a passion for their jobs. Volunteering would be a great idea for anyone looking to dedicate their time to helping the elderly. I also appreciated their private dining rooms so residents could invite their families for sit down dinners whenever they liked. The residents responded very positively to the staff and you could sense the trust they both had for each other. The atmosphere is positive and carefree, just like they would be if they were in their own homes with no assistance. There were many physical activities too - swimming, arts and crafts, piano, ect. that are available for the residents to use. Overall, the place gets a huge applause for atmosphere. It makes all the difference! "
