Independent Living Communities in Peachtree City, GA

"I will be moving into Arbor Terrace Peach Tree City Independent Living. I like the flowers outside, and the grounds are beautiful. When I stepped inside, everybody was so friendly, pleasant, and helpful in finding your way around. I stayed there for two nights, I think it was two nights or maybe three, I cannot remember. I ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner there, and I tried the activities. Everybody was like, "Good for you," and "You did good," and those kinds of things. The food was good. They had bowling, I did chair exercises, and there was a word scramble that they did that I participated in. Everybody seems so happy and pleasant, and there was nobody grumbling about anything. The staff is very nice, very helpful, and they get involved too."

"I’m on a waiting list at Hearthside for two years and I know I’m close to the top of the list. The place is just close and walking distance to shops, walking passed restaurants. The rooms have built-in kitchen, solid countertop bar, and you have option to a 1 or 2-bedroom or even 1 or 2-baths. I like it a lot because of where it is. It’s my first choice. The staff seem very cordial and nice. The place is full and everybody seems to be happy there. It’s probably the most attractive to me and my wife. We’re handicap but we’re still able to live independently. I’m legally visually impaired and my wife has Parkinson’s, but we’re able to get around. We need each other’s help, so we need to find a place that’s really conducive for our lifestyle, where we can cook our own meals and be able to fellowship with others like us in our age group. The place has a movie theater, screened porch, garden spots and walking trails. "

"Somerby of Peachtree City is very expensive, but a physically attractive place. They seemed to have the services that my sister-in-law requires. The staff is good and seems attentive. Her room is small when you are downsizing from a house to a one-bedroom, but it looks attractive. The food is cafeteria type food. It's not bad, but it's fair. They have different classes. They play different games, do singalongs, and go on trips to various areas. They take them on a bus if they want to go shopping, etc."

"My daughter-in-law went with me, and we visited. It is within two miles of our house, which has a lot of appeal. Annie was the one who took us around. She was very friendly and outgoing, gave a good explanation of the care and the facility, and gave us a tour. It was impressive. It is a separate building from the rest of the assisted living apartments, which was helpful to know that there was no interaction between them. It was the most expensive of the three I toured, but it was probably within the range of what I expected this kind of care would require. It looked like they had a lot of variety in their food and activities, and they don't really want the residents to spend their day in the bedroom. They need to be out and mixing with the rest of the group. You have a choice of a studio or a one-bedroom, where there is a bathroom between two of the rooms. They would share, but they would have their shower time scheduled on different days, so there was still a lot of privacy."

"I toured HearthSide Club Lafayette. We talked with a person who was very informative. They showed us the floor plans of the apartments and she said they had a waiting list. They had one- and two-bedrooms. My sister only needs a one-bedroom. They offered transportation to the grocery store. They also had little areas where they could play games and play cards. You can have your family over there, and there's a kitchen that can be used downstairs. They had a courtyard, too."

"Our experience with Azalea Estates of Fayetteville was excellent. The facilities were great and the nurse was great, but my dad declined more rapidly than their staff was prepared for -- which was not their fault at all -- so we had to switch to another place. However, the community was great; I had no complaints. The place itself was clean had no odor, it had fresh paint, and they were a great help in getting furniture in his room. They had a lot of activities that were well-attended. I toured around nine senior places, but this one had the most participation and engagement from their community. They should get strong marks for their bingo, jigsaw puzzles, and other things going on."

"I toured Ashlynn Ridge 55+ Apartments. It's a newer community that has a lot of activities for seniors. It has a lot of help with the subsidies that they get to keep the cost of the place down for the residents. It's much cheaper than the usual senior living place and very cost-effective. Everyone seemed very friendly, but they didn't have openings for new residents. They have the option for the dining area or they can cook their own, it depends on what they want. The units are nice and new."

"Larry Moore Manor was very nice. There are two floors. Everybody has a balcony. That's what I like about it. The complex is friendly and clean and everybody is courteous. The management is easy to talk to. They have a garden patio and they have a courtyard. It's a high-rise and I'm applying to the garden apartments with a patio."

"We are completely satisfied with The Claiborne at Newnan Lakes. I like the people. They're very accommodating. My mother is there for assisted living. They do a good job. They have outings and they have little games that they play. They take good care of her. They bring her up and down for breakfast, lunch, and supper. We're pleased with them. I've tried their food, and it's good enough. It's all expensive, but we think it's reasonable for what we're getting."

"The Nurses, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, CNA's, cleaning service staff, food and Nutrician staff, Social Worker, Wound care specialist,Technicians, front desk receptionist all work together to help in the recovery of your love one. They always try to answer your questions to the best of their abilities. And whatever you need they try to make it available to you. I am so grateful for the care that was given to my husband during his stay at Christian City Rehabilitation Facility"

"I was really happy with Providence Personal Care Home. I was misinformed when I was sent over there because my mother needs to have a nursing home and not an assisted living home, so they weren't able to help me there. But the place was really nice and very clean, and the people were very, very friendly. I was really happy with it, especially because it was a house and not a big facility. I didn't try their food, but it smelled good. The staff were very nice."

"The rooms are spacious and easy to maintain. The windows are really large and some residents opt to not have curtains. I choose to have curtains although I live on the back side facing the trees. I have referred 3 residents here and they are very happy that I did. We are convenient to all resources in this area. It would be great if we could establish a Community Garden!! It would give the older residents a purpose and freedom to get out into the open."

"Sun City Peachtree is very nice and the staff was super. They had 2 swimming pools, one inside and one outside. The units I saw there were homes and they had garages. They have a theater, a gym, pool room, golf court, tennis court, and a baseball field. They had a lot of things going. They don't serve food because it's independent living."

"My impression of Big Bethel was that it was a nice place with nice people. I have only been here for a couple of weeks and I haven’t tried the food but upon speaking to neighbors, they think its fine. The staff is very nice and very welcoming. It’s very clean and nice-looking. So far, I am happy. "
